Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151A "Gate"

  • Lin Xue’s grandmother entrusted her legacy to Lin Xue and asked Vivian to look after her.
  • The grandmother revealed that she had come to Earth through a gate in the wall between worlds and led Mu You, Lin Xue, and Vivian to it beneath the estate.
  • Mu You resisted the gate’s beguiling whispers, and Vivian sealed the gate into a Secret Art Card.
  • The grandmother explained that the gate opened once every ten days for twenty-four hours and that travelers lost plundered lifespan while stranded in the other world.
  • The grandmother entrusted the gate to Mu You, warning that opening it would make him its Gate Opener and responsible for keeping Star Spirit World creatures from crossing into Earth.

Ch. 152A Thousand Faces

Mu You tested the upgraded Crazy Growth spell, considered using a hidden Relic to safely pass through Vivian’s sealed door, and learned his help in rescuing a child had earned him another Class A Mission. The chapter ended with Zhang Yang delivering Mu You’s new breeding and sales permit and Mu You asking how many points the mission was worth.

  • Mu You finished the Crazy Growth Secret Art Card, tested it on Binding Grass, and discovered it instantly grew into a much larger, more dangerous patch that could entangle him.
  • Mu You tried Crazy Growth on a Mandrake and concluded it was already fully grown, then copied the spell and put away Vivian’s sealed-door card until Lin Xue could discuss it with him.
  • Mu You decided the A Thousand Faces hidden Relic could help him travel through the door without being hunted, but he worried he lacked the points to buy it.
  • Zhang Yang arrived late at night and gave Mu You an Abnormal Creature Breeding and Sales Permit, explaining that the Blood Emperor’s support had earned Mu You another Class A Mission.
  • Mu You asked Zhang Yang how many points the new mission was worth.

Ch. 153The bounty notice

Mu You sold the Weather Spell to the state for eighteen thousand points and bought A Thousand Faces, then reached Sunset City through its underground waterways. After escaping a bounty trap and the pursuing knights, he found a corpse carrying a Merfolk Scale.

  • The Pumpkin Lantern revealed a drowned fisherman's corpse, from which Mu You obtained a Fisherman Skin, a Damaged Fishing Net, and a Merfolk Scale.

Ch. 154Sleeping Potion

Mu You repaired a damaged fishing net, brewed Sleeping Potions to keep fish from escaping, and learned that Lin Xue had brought her grandmother’s body with her. The chapter left Mu You and Xiao Ya stunned by Lin Xue’s revelation.

  • Mu You identified the Merfolk Scale as belonging to a juvenile Nicarro Merfolk and repaired the fishing net with spider silk and snake sinew.
  • Mu You cast the inferior net into a shallow coastal reef and marked it with a buoy.
  • Mu You harvested mandrake sap, restored the weakened mandrake with Crazy Growth, and brewed nineteen bottles of Sleeping Potion.
  • Xiao Ya studied Star Spirit Language while Mu You practiced Card Making, and Zhang Yang delivered the A Thousand Faces mask.
  • Lin Xue arrived with a suitcase and said she planned to rent a nearby place and move there.
  • Lin Xue told Mu You and Xiao Ya that she had brought her grandmother’s body with her.

Ch. 155Contractor

Mu You and Lin Xue prepared to cross the door into the Star Spirit World so Lin Xue could bury her grandmother there, while Xiao Ya stayed behind to watch the shop. The chapter ended as Mu You opened the door for their journey.

  • Lin Xue told Mu You and Xiao Ya that her grandmother had wanted to be buried in the Star Spirit World, and Mu You agreed to take her there.
  • Mu You and Lin Xue prepared supplies and learned about Lin Xue’s inherited Reaper’s Scythe, Crimson Cloak, and Secret Arts.
  • Mu You asked Xiao Ya to guard the shop while he and Lin Xue were away for twenty-four hours.
  • Lin Xue carried her grandmother’s body in an ice coffin and readied her scythe and cloak as Mu You prepared to cross the door.
  • Mu You removed the door’s restrictions and opened it.

Ch. 156The genius Al

Mu You and Lin Xue entered the Star Spirit World and fought a Pine Forest Yeti guarding the door. Lin Xue’s grandmother, Al, appeared through the Reaper Contract, taught Lin Xue to land ten scythe strikes, and summoned the God of Death to sever the Yeti’s soul.

  • Mu You, Lin Xue, and Vivian entered the Star Spirit World through the door and found themselves on an icy plain in the Northern Border.
  • A level 19 Pine Forest Yeti charged toward the door, and Mu You used an Explosive Arrow, Binding Grass, and an Ice Prison to delay it.
  • Vivian explained that the Wizards' Association had stationed the Yeti to guard the door and marked it to teleport back if it died and resurrected.
  • The Yeti broke free and charged the door, but Lin Xue’s grandmother Al appeared, stopped its club, and fought it with Lin Xue’s scythe.
  • Lin Xue and Mu You fueled the Reaper Contract, allowing Al to guide Lin Xue in landing ten strikes before her soul disappeared.
  • The God of Death manifested, hurled the Yeti away, pulled out its soul, and severed it with a scythe.

Ch. 157Intelligence on the Ghost Ship

Mu You stored Lin Xue’s grandmother in the Vampire’s Tomb, then traveled to Sunset City to investigate the Ghost Ship. He learned where its wreck lay and robbed a Goblin merchant of the map and other goods.

  • Lin Xue recovered her soul, returned her grandmother’s remains to the ice coffin, and told Mu You the battle had consumed 170 soul points and cost them years of lifespan.
  • Mu You took Lin Xue’s grandmother to the Vampire’s Tomb and sealed her remains in a millennium-ice coffin while Lin Xue stayed behind with Warhawk.

  • Mu You concealed his Fool aura, entered Sunset City, and received a low-ranked identity token from the guards.
  • A Goblin merchant sold Mu You information about the Ghost Ship, revealing that it had wrecked in the cursed Devil Sea and that a survivor’s map marked the wreck.
  • When the Goblin produced the map and a Blood Contract Scroll, Mu You snatched them and several other wares, prompting the Goblin to shout that he had been robbed.

Ch. 158Technology in a magical world

Mu You escaped Sunset City after stealing a goblin’s belongings and used an alchemical beetle to learn about the city’s Teleportation Array. He paid ten years of lifespan to travel to Heim City after discovering that routes to the Imperial Capital were closed to commoners.

  • Mu You evaded a goblin’s self-destructing attack, escaped through the river, and avoided capture with A Thousand Faces.
  • Mu You examined the stolen map, Blood Contract Scroll, beetle, and Socketing Stone, identifying the map’s X as the likely Ghost Ship wreck site near Heim City.
  • Mu You activated the mechanical beetle and learned from tavern conversations that a Teleportation Array stood beneath the wizard tower in Sunset City’s central square.

  • Mu You traveled from Heim City to the coast and accepted a ride from Chu Dongjiao, who charged him a year of lifespan up front.
  • Mu You noticed Chu Dongjiao was steering toward the Devil Sea and suspected the boatman was plotting against his passengers, but boarded because he wanted the boat.
  • In the Devil Sea, Chu Dongjiao attacked Mu You and the newbie passenger; Mu You pretended to die, while the newbie was killed and looted.
  • Chu Dongjiao searched underwater for Mu You, then discovered his boat was gone and fled the Devil Sea in a slower spare boat.
  • Mu You emerged from underwater and followed Chu Dongjiao, intending to discover where the door was hidden.

Ch. 160Fear of the Deep Sea

Mu You infiltrated an Illuminati hideout and overheard that the Illuminati and the Ten Commandments Society planned to act in four days. He then found the Ghost Ship beneath the Devil Sea and sent the Shadow Fiend against its pirate ghosts, but the battle turned dangerous when the level 30 leader began overpowering it.

  • Mu You followed a boatman to an island door, where he learned it belonged to the Illuminati and overheard a black-robed Ten Commandments Society member say their preparations were complete and they would move in four days.
  • Mu You sailed to the Devil Sea, descended through a hidden passage beneath the seabed, and reached Shipwreck Cove, where he found the wrecked Ghost Ship.
  • Mu You summoned Vivian and released the Shadow Fiend, which slaughtered more than a hundred pirate ghosts before the survivors retreated into the ship.
  • Viril identified the ship's giant skeletal leader as his traitorous first mate, Victor, and promised Mu You the Ghost Ship if he defeated him.

Ch. 161The Ghost Ship's new master

Mu You defeated the Pirate Ghost, claimed the Ghost Ship and its crew, and recovered several valuable sailing treasures. After returning to the seabed to check his Fishing Net, he found it had caught a sleeping merperson.

  • Mu You distracted the Pirate Ghost with spells, allowing the Shadow Fiend to defeat him before Mu You sealed the weakened Shadow Fiend.
  • Viril stopped the remaining ghosts and named Mu You the Ghost Ship's new captain before dissolving; Mu You ordered the 312 pirates to serve for ten years, and they signed a Blood Contract.
  • Mu You inspected the broken Ghost Ship, learned it needed scrap materials and Divine Wood for repairs, and recovered two magical gems plus a Waterway Pass, Fate Compass, and Sea Breeze Scepter.
  • Mu You set up a Darkness Teleportation Array, returned to the seabed near Sunset City, and found a sleeping merperson tangled in his Fishing Net.

Ch. 162Elf Horn

  • Mu You brought the sleeping mermaid back from the coast, and Lin Xue and Xiao Ya placed her in a tank at the shop.
  • Mu You used the Elf Horn repeatedly and chose Pixie Fairy Aoleiya's quest to deliver a letter to Riley and obtain World Tree leaves.
  • Xiao Ya told Mu You she could take him to Emerald City using her free trips on the elven Teleportation Array.
  • Mu You bought a Fire Element Insight Page and a Teleportation Mark, placed the mark in the Night Watchman's Cabin, and accepted Lin Xue's invitation to ride her Flying Broomstick toward the Elven Forest.
  • Mu You found the mermaid's tank empty and followed the trail of water leading toward the lake beneath the waterfall.

Ch. 163World Tree Sprout

Mu You captured a wary mermaid in his backpack space, made an Epic Grade Life Potion using the Unicorn’s blood, and traveled with Lin Xue and Xiao Ya to Emerald City. After giving Laili the potion, he received a World Tree Sprout that could only be planted in the Elven Forest.

Ch. 164Elf Training Hall

Mu You gathered spider-silk cotton for Spindle Granny, then discovered and killed a Forest Troll assassin that had infiltrated the Elven Forest. He earned elven reputation and accepted a hidden quest to investigate the trolls’ origin, then used his fishing catch to help raise a Chocobo.

  • Mu You found Spindle Granny, learned she was an old friend of the Farming Elder, and accepted a quest to gather spider-silk cotton so she could repair his fishing net.
  • Mu You traveled to the Green Satchel Tribe, harvested forty-two portions of cotton with the Harvest Horn, and was ambushed and killed by a concealed Forest Troll assassin.

  • Mu You learned that reaching Respected reputation would let him enter the Elf Training Hall, then accepted the hidden quest to investigate the trolls’ origin and capture one alive.
  • Mu You retrieved his Fishing Net, caught a Large Whiskered Fish, and fed some of its meat to a Chocobo chick, which grew larger than the others.

Ch. 165A Knowledge Ancient Tree Snatched from Under Their Noses...

  • Mu You found the dead Knowledge Ancient Tree and its Logging Axe, then placed the tree in his backpack space.
  • Mu You tried to revive the tree with Crazy Growth, but it did not respond; only a Sprite might be able to restore it.

Ch. 166Fishmen Invading the Real World?

Mu You planted and accelerated a Tree of Life near the Troll cave, then spent two days grinding Trolls and crafting potions until he earned enough Elf Race reputation to begin Marksmanship and Night Vision training. He was called to join an emergency Anomaly Investigation Bureau mission after thousands of Fishmen appeared near the Yangtze River, and he suspected the invasion was connected to the Illuminati’s planned operation.

  • Mu You handed the captured Troll to the ranger captain, completed the investigation quest, and accepted a repeatable quest to kill Trolls emerging from the cave.
  • Mu You planted a World Tree sprout near the cave and used Crazy Growth to raise it into a large Tree of Life, attracting Trolls and increasing his Elf Race reputation.
  • Mu You, Lin Xue, and Xiao Ya guarded the cave for two days, killing Trolls while Mu You brewed potions and tended to his other preparations.
  • Mu You reached 3,000 Elf Race reputation and started Marksmanship and Night Vision training at the Elf Training Hall.
  • Zhang Yang summoned Mu You to a field assignment, and the two boarded a military helicopter with veteran players from K City's Anomaly Investigation Bureau.
  • Zhang Yang revealed that thousands of Fishmen had appeared near a town by the Yangtze River, and Mu You suspected the outbreak was connected to the Illuminati’s planned operation.

Ch. 167Emergency Reinforcements

Zhang Yang explained the secret gates between Earth and the Star Spirit World and warned that destroying the wizards’ towers would be far harder than expected. He led Mu You and the K City team to reinforce a Yangtze River defense line, where they found Section Nineteen abandoned and Fishmen close to breaking through.

  • Zhang Yang told the team that gates connected Earth to the Star Spirit World, and that major factions, including the Dragon Group, possessed them.
  • Zhang Yang revealed that an American attempt to destroy an Arcane Tower with nuclear weapons had failed, and that the Lan'er Empire faced even stronger defenses.
  • Zhang Yang explained that a likely underwater gate near the Yangtze River was unleashing Fishmen, while military forces struggled to defend more than seventy sectors.
  • Mu You and the K City team arrived in Y City and saw Fishmen overwhelm the trenches as the few players on the defensive line ran short of Magic Power.
  • Headquarters directed Zhang Yang's team to Section Nineteen, where Mu You saw no defenders and Fishmen climbing over the trenches.

Ch. 168Experience Points Everywhere

Mu You helped the K City Anomaly Investigation Branch hold its defensive line against waves of Fishmen, using Liu Chen’s Convergence Spell to make his fireballs more effective. The experience from the battle let Mu You reach level ten and evolve, and he offered the Evolution Potion Zhang Yang had requested for him to Liu Chen.

  • Mu You stabilized a breached section of the trench with a fireball and Binding Grass, then worked with Liu Chen to gather and burn through the Fishmen.
  • Mu You and Liu Chen repeatedly combined Convergence and fireballs to wipe out later waves while the branch repaired the line and Little Spider devoured the corpses.
  • Zhang Yang turned away headquarters’ offers of reinforcements after their defensive line held for three hours.
  • Mu You checked his game, reached level ten, drank an Evolution Potion, and gained permanent bonuses to damage dealt and damage taken.
  • Zhang Yang told Mu You he had requested an Evolution Potion for him, and Mu You suggested giving it to Liu Chen instead.

Ch. 169The Ten Commandments Society's Goal

Mu You and his team survived increasingly dangerous waves of fishmen while learning that twenty-nine God-Level Players had entered the Otherworld gate to investigate a likely trap. The next assault began with intelligent fishman mages, leaving the team facing an even greater threat.

  • Mu You gave Old Liu an Evolution Potion, and Old Liu accepted it, promising to help Mu You gain experience.
  • Zhang Yang explained that the God-Level Players had entered the gate to investigate a deliberate attack and its suspected mastermind.
  • A stronger fishman wave arrived with giant sea turtles, but Mu You and his team defeated most of the attackers and endured the assault.
  • Reinforcements helped the other defensive lines survive the wave, though the monsters had caused casualties.
  • Less than twenty minutes later, fishmen attacked again with sea turtles and spellcasting fishman mages, whose attributes shocked Mu You.

Ch. 170The swamp beyond the gate

Mu You and the soldiers endured a Fishman assault complicated by contagious plague, then learned the attacks were being drawn by an Ancient Altar beyond the gate. He agreed to join an elite mission to the swamp and received equipment and a teleportation mark before heading out.

  • Mu You warned Zhang Yang that Murloc Voodoo Priests could spread a deadly plague, but the warning reached the defensive lines too late to prevent widespread infections and casualties.
  • Mu You and his team fought through the plague-infected assault, while the other defensive lines adapted and eventually held off the Fishmen at heavy cost.
  • The Fishmen's attacks weakened, and Mu You rested after the military took over Section Nineteen.
  • Zhang Yang told Mu You that an Ancient Altar in a Giant Swamp was drawing the Fishmen and that the Ten Commandments Society was fighting the God-Level Players trying to dismantle it.
  • Mu You agreed to join an elite reinforcement mission beyond the gate and accepted a Vampire Magatama and a Teleportation Mark from Zhang Yang.

Ch. 171Suspected Sagittarius

Mu You joined a group of allied experts as they crossed into the Rotten Poison Swamp and began traveling through it. After watching the group quickly dispatch several Magical Beasts, he noticed an Ice Emperor woman summon a Shadow Warhawk and suspected she might be Sagittarius.

  • Zhang Yang showed Mu You the damaged gate in the river, and Mu You crossed it with Vivian into the Rotten Poison Swamp.
  • Wang Jie welcomed Mu You to the Anomaly Investigation Bureau team, and the group’s leader explained their rules and precautions before they set out.
  • The group traveled deeper into the swamp, where its leader warned them about mud traps and hidden poison-type Magical Beasts.
  • The group quickly killed a Water Arrow Poison Frog and several other monsters, leaving Mu You unable to land a hit or farm them.
  • Mu You saw an Ice Emperor woman summon a Shadow Warhawk and wondered whether she was Sagittarius.

Ch. 172I Have Seventeen Cards-You Think You Can One-Shot Me?

Mu You left the doomed reinforcement group and hunted alone in the swamp, where he discovered an enemy spy and captured him. He headed north afterward, planning to hide and attend the Secret Art Meeting, where several Mystic Arts Association members might confront one another.

  • Flowers in the Mist warned the group that a flock of Swamp Wyverns was approaching, and the ensuing battle overwhelmed the players with stacking poison and repeated deaths.
  • A second, larger flock approached, forcing the leaders to split the group into small teams; Mu You had already teleported away alone.
  • Mu You switched to the Vampire Skin, summoned Warhawk and other creatures, restored his Magic Power, and hunted monsters while making his way north.
  • Mu You spotted a hidden observer among the monsters, lured him closer, then used the Chain Claw, Throat-Sealing Curse, and Cripple to disable him.
  • Mu You teleported out of the encirclement with the captive, made him drink a sleeping potion, and put him in his backpack before seeking a secluded place for the Secret Art Meeting.

Ch. 173The world in a bottle

Mu You was trapped in a shrinking storage bottle by a Black-Robed Man from the Ten Commandments Society, who had lured him inside to avenge Werewolf. Unable to teleport out and cut off from his summoned creatures, Mu You learned the man was an NPC and faced him alone inside the sealed bottle.

  • Mu You looted an Illuminati member, restrained him as evidence, and headed deeper into the swamp to wait for midnight.
  • The swamp transformed into a desert when Mu You discovered he had entered a shrinking storage bottle, whose cork blocked the exit and whose magic prevented teleportation.
  • A Black-Robed Man attacked Mu You, and the Omniscient Crystal identified him as a level 19 mysterious individual rather than a player.
  • Mu You failed to contact his summoned creatures, and the Black-Robed Man revealed he had killed them and used a Grand Illusion Scroll to lure Mu You into the bottle.
  • The Black-Robed Man said he targeted Mu You because Mu You had killed Werewolf and taken the Chain Claw, which the man claimed had belonged to him.

Ch. 174Wait While I Attend a Meeting

Mu You stalled the Black-Robed Man and escaped through the Mystic Arts Association’s Teleportation Array to attend the Secret Art Meeting. There, he revealed the Illuminati and Ten Commandments Society’s role in the Sea Tribe Invasion and asked four members to lend him their secret arts.

  • Mu You pretended to consider the Black-Robed Man’s offer to join the Ten Commandments Society while waiting for the Secret Art Meeting to begin.
  • Mu You entered the Teleportation Array and vanished, leaving the Black-Robed Man waiting for his return.
  • Mu You arrived at the Palace with Vivian, found Lin Xue attending as Pisces’s Successor, and welcomed her before starting the meeting.
  • Mu You learned that Sagittarius was in the Rotten Poison Swamp and explained the Illuminati and Ten Commandments Society’s role in the Sea Tribe Invasion.
  • Mu You gave Reaper Contract cards to Leo, Libra, Virgo, and Capricorn and asked them to lend him their secret arts for an hour after the meeting.

Ch. 175Three new spells

Mu You arranged support for his coming fight with the Black-Robed Man, promised several players potions, and traded for new spells at the meeting. He ended by suggesting that players seeking a route to the Imperial Capital gather in nearby riverside or coastal cities, though he could not yet guarantee passage.

  • Mu You arranged for four veteran players to activate Reaper Contracts at three and four o'clock, and promised them potions in exchange for their support.
  • Libra and Capricorn gave Mu You materials for four Evolution Potions, while Virgo asked him to brew two Stat Reset Potions within three months.
  • Mu You traded cards and acquired Darkness Realm, Enduring Spell, and Wooden Doppelganger, promising Cancer and Aquarius spell scrolls in return.
  • Scorpio gave Lin Xue the Netherfire Blast spell scroll, and Mu You also obtained a copy of it.
  • Mu You told the players seeking the Imperial Capital to head to nearby riverside or coastal cities while he investigated a possible route.
