Chapters 176–200 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 176No Passage

Mu You returned to the Bottled Desert and fought the Black-Robed Man, using repeated resurrections, defensive spells, summons, and Mana Drain to exhaust the mage's reserves. After draining his mana and striking his vital spot, Mu You blocked the bottle's exit and declared passage forbidden.

  • The Black-Robed Man ambushed Mu You with lightning spells, and Mu You survived the attacks through teleportation and resurrection.
  • Mu You examined the new secret arts from the arriving Crystals and chose to outlast the Black-Robed Man by draining his mana.
  • Mu You cast Frost Armor and Mana Drain, summoned creatures to bait the Black-Robed Man into spending mana, and repeatedly traded damage with him.
  • The Black-Robed Man restored some mana with Greater Gospel Spell, but Mu You kept up his attacks until the mage tried to drink a Magic Potion.
  • Mu You shot the potion from the Black-Robed Man's hand, then pursued him to the bottle's mouth and pierced his chest with Vampire Claws, reducing his health and mana to zero.
  • After the Black-Robed Man resurrected, Mu You guarded the bottle's mouth and told him passage through was forbidden.

Ch. 177Playing Dirty

Mu You repeatedly killed the Black-Robed Man inside the bottle, using Black Magic summons and preventing him from drinking potions. After twelve deaths, the Black-Robed Man realized the escalating experience penalty could rapidly strip away his levels and leave him vulnerable to tier suppression.

  • Mu You killed the Black-Robed Man again after his Mana Exchange scroll failed to help him, then overwhelmed him with fire, ice, and summoned creatures.
  • The Black-Robed Man recognized Mu You as a Dark Wizard, but Mu You sent three high-level summons after him and stopped him from taking magic potions.
  • Mu You and his summons killed the Black-Robed Man repeatedly, while each kill made the Fire Giant grow stronger until its time limit expired.
  • Mu You summoned a new Fire Giant and continued blocking the Black-Robed Man's escape attempts, bringing his death count to twelve.
  • The Black-Robed Man realized his death penalties would soon reduce his level drastically and eventually make him vulnerable to Mu You's tier advantage.

Ch. 178A bountiful harvest

Mu You defeated the Black-Robed Man through hundreds of deaths, permanently killing him after stripping away his levels and equipment. He gained a new skin, powerful items, experience, reputation, and enough lifespan to nearly double his reserve, leaving him to recover and examine his spoils.

  • Mu You repeatedly killed the Black-Robed Man until he fell to level 10 and dropped three Epic Grade equipment pieces, which Mu You collected.
  • Mu You used the Netherworld Demon Child and the Blood Magatama to kill the Black-Robed Man until his lifespan was nearly exhausted.
  • The Black-Robed Man begged for mercy and offered a ransom, then revealed that Master Quelch was his mentor.
  • Vivian recognized the Black-Robed Man’s connection to Quelch and hinted that she knew about his Sun Scorch Syndrome.
  • Mu You permanently killed the Black-Robed Man and gained the Mysterious Man skin, Cryptic Robe, Spatial Ring, Lightning Staff, experience, lifespan, and Evil Faction Reputation.
  • Mu You recovered his stamina, tallied his gains, and inspected the effects of his new skin and equipment.

Ch. 179Arcanist Set

Mu You inspected the Black-Robed Man's loot, discovered his name was Rhodes and that he had attended Red Rose Academy, and equipped three pieces of Arcanist set gear that greatly improved his attributes. With his stamina restored, Mu You considered the bottle he was trapped inside to be the battle's greatest gain.

  • Mu You switched to the Black-Robed Man's skin and found it carried temporary Swamp Affinity and Swamp God's Recognition effects.
  • Mu You examined Rhodes's robe, Lightning Magic Wand, Spatial Ring, potions, Town Portal Scroll, and Red Rose Academy card.
  • Mu You equipped the Arcanist Thunderwood Cuirass, Dragonbone Greaves, and Rune Belt, activating set bonuses and socketing the Blood Gem and Constitution Gem.
  • Mu You allocated his five free attribute points, reaching level 11 with 51 Intelligence, 23 Constitution, 4,300 health, and 6,100 mana.
  • After his stamina recovered, Mu You looked across the desert and recognized the bottle as the battle's greatest gain.

Ch. 180Whose Reinforcements?

Mu You escaped the bottle and realized the Ten Commandments Society had trapped the battlefield with spatial interference. He reached the besieged reinforcements disguised as Rhodes, killed Gemini’s Fire Giant, and forced Gemini to begin retreating with a Town Portal Scroll.

  • Mu You left the bottle, then deduced that the Ten Commandments Society had activated spatial interference to prevent the fighters from escaping or resurrecting elsewhere.
  • Mu You found the reinforcement unit reduced to just over twenty people and surrounded by Swamp Magical Beasts and Illuminati members, including Gemini.
  • Gemini mistook Mu You for Rhodes and used the name to demoralize the besieged fighters, but Mu You silenced Gemini and the monsters began to scatter.
  • Flowers in the Mist recognized Mu You’s Netherworld Demon Child and thought Aries had arrived to help the reinforcements.
  • The Fire Giant swallowed Mu You, but Mu You destroyed it within seconds, leaving Gemini terrified and prompting him to open a Town Portal Scroll.

Ch. 181A solo god-level player

Mu You helped defeat the Illuminati’s ambush in the Star Spirit World, then met Sagittarius and planned to intercept Gemini after the escape. He revealed that the Ten Commandments Society consisted of Wizards from the Star Spirit World, leaving the gathered leaders eager to report the discovery.

  • Gemini used a Town Portal Scroll to escape with most of the Illuminati, while the defenders captured three of their members.
  • Mu You stayed out of the fighting after killing the Fire Giant, preserving his cover as a powerful passing expert.
  • Sagittarius recognized Mu You as Aries, confirmed Gemini had led the ambush, and said Taurus had not appeared.
  • Mu You realized he might intercept Gemini at Taurus's gate and decided to recover their Secret Art Crystals.
  • Mu You told the leaders he had killed Rhodes and explained that the Ten Commandments Society's members were Wizards from the Star Spirit World.

Ch. 182Raiding the Base

Mu You led reinforcements to the battlefield and smuggled them through the Swamp God Altar’s barrier to attack its statue. Their assault halted the God-Level Players’ retreat and gave them a chance to counterattack the Ten Commandments Society.

  • Mu You led the group to the battlefield, where they saw God-Level Players trapped by a vast horde of monsters and the Ten Commandments Society.
  • Mu You identified the altar as the source of the enemies’ control over the beasts and planned to carry the reinforcements inside its barrier in a backpack.
  • The exhausted God-Level Players prepared to retreat when a black-robed figure approached the altar and passed through its barrier.
  • Mu You’s disguised group emerged inside the barrier and attacked the statue, while Mu You raised an ice wall to block the Ten Commandments Society.
  • Jiuyou God-Level Player and the others abandoned their retreat and charged the black-robed men, whose powerful spells barely cracked Mu You’s ice wall.

Ch. 183Altar's Curse

Mu You helped destroy the swamp altar, then left before the other God-Level Players could question him. He discovered that the altar’s curse made swamp creatures avoid him, which could help guard the door to Earth, and returned home with Vivian and a captured Illuminati member.

  • Mu You used Ice Wall Spell to block the Black-Robed Men while the support team toppled the altar’s Statue, dissolving the barrier and scattering the magical beasts.
  • The Ten Commandments Society members escaped with Town Portal Scrolls, and the players gathered the altar fragments and heard that the mysterious God-Level Player had killed Rhodes.
  • Nine Nether asked Sagittarius to pass along a request for the mysterious player to contact them about future tower-destruction operations, and Sagittarius accepted his card.
  • Mu You turned invisible and left the swamp, then discovered that destroying the altar had given him Altar’s Curse, causing monsters to avoid him.
  • Mu You realized the curse could keep swamp creatures away from the door to Earth, then released Vivian and carried the unconscious Illuminati member through the door.

Ch. 184Gains and Costs

Mu You returned from the swamp with an Illuminati prisoner and handed him and the Blood Magatama to Zhang Yang. While recovering, Mu You accelerated the Tree of Life’s growth and chose a cooldown-reducing blessing to get ahead of Gemini; the chapter ended with the players celebrating a successful mission that came at a heavy cost to their strongest fighters.

  • Mu You came ashore, reassured Zhang Yang that he was unharmed, and explained that an Illuminati member had tried to ambush him in the swamp.
  • Mu You handed Zhang Yang the bound prisoner and Blood Magatama, then returned to camp to rest and check his game.
  • Mu You found that the Tree of Life was nearly mature and calculated that a cooldown-reducing blessing would let him enter his gate before Taurus and Gemini.
  • Mu You turned in his Elf Horn quest and chose the blessing that reduced the cooldowns of his spells and non-Relic items.
  • The main force returned after destroying the Swamp Altar, stopping the Fishmen’s offensive, and securing control of the riverbed gate, but six God-Level Players had fallen below level 15 and others had lost levels.

Ch. 185A Storm of Public Opinion

After returning to the Pet Shop, Mu You read the forum’s official reports about the gate crisis, the Ten Commandments Society, and the Illuminati. The posts revealed the Illuminati’s arrests and sparked public outrage, while an unofficial account hinted that a mysterious God-Level Player had helped win the battle and was connected to Ice Emperor.

  • Mu You returned to K City, slept, and found Lin Xue and Xiao Ya discussing major news on the forum.
  • An official post explained the Magical Beast invasion and the gate crisis, while crediting the players with a successful mission and announcing that the country would guard the gate.
  • A second post accused the Ten Commandments Society of serving Wizards from the Star Spirit World, and a third exposed the Illuminati’s betrayal.
  • Authorities captured 311 Illuminati members, but the organization’s president, vice president, and more than fifty core members had vanished with valuable items.
  • Interrogators learned that the Illuminati and Soul Extinguishers had fought over the Shadow Fiend, which Gao Ziming had taken away.
  • An unofficial post claimed that an unaffiliated God-Level Player had turned the battle around and suggested that the player was close to Ice Emperor.

Ch. 186Entrapment

Mu You converted several spells into powerful Black Magic and waited for the Tree of Life to mature. When ten Trolls cut it down, he and his allies ambushed them, drove off the survivors, and secured the tree in his backpack.

  • Mu You collected mission rewards, selected potion materials, exchanged the remaining loot chances for points, and listed a scroll and previously looted items for sale.
  • Mu You made backup cards for Darkness Realm and converted Enduring Spell into Life Barrier and Life Drain into a stronger Black Magic version.
  • Mu You, Lin Xue, and Xiao Ya watched the Tree of Life mature, then hid near the Troll cave when its aura drew hostile creatures.
  • Ten Trolls began cutting down the Tree of Life, and Mu You chose to let them continue until the tree fell.
  • Mu You, Nameless Person, and Pea Breeder ambushed the Trolls, killed six, and forced the rest to flee into their cave.
  • Mu You put the fallen Tree of Life in his backpack and examined its mostly inferior leaves after taking it out in his space.

Ch. 187Global Open Beta and Version Update

Mu You harvested the Tree of Life’s leaves and gave its self-repairing wood to the Ghost Ship’s crew, who began a three-day repair. Little Spider evolved into a Jumping Demon Spider, while public fear of Otherworld creatures grew until the official Global Open Beta date was announced.

  • Mu You collected 4,650 Tree of Life leaves, stored them, and sent the tree to Shipwreck Bay for the Pirate Ghosts to use in repairing the Ghost Ship.
  • Mu You discovered Little Spider’s egg hatching and watched Little Spider emerge as a larger, stronger Jumping Demon Spider with new abilities.
  • Mu You, Xiao Ya, and Lin Xue continued hunting Trolls near the cave as the Trolls appeared less often.
  • News of the Yangtze River basin invasion spread, and public fear caused housing prices in nearby cities to fall.
  • The official Fool website announced that the Global Open Beta and Fool (Official Release 1.0) would begin at midnight on August 1.

Ch. 188A Dirty Job

Mu You and his companions analyzed the full release update, including lifespan trading and new rules for player combat. He then reviewed the Elf Horn quests and accepted the Forest Elves’ Troll Tomb mission for the Troll Reliquary.

  • Mu You, Xiao Ya, and Lin Xue discussed how the update’s lifespan trading, item binding, death penalty, and red-name rules would affect players.
  • Mu You checked the forum, where players largely agreed that the new rules protected beginners and discouraged infighting.
  • Mu You blew the refreshed Elf Horn and reviewed quests from Aoleiya, Freyde, Riley, and the Sunlight Elves.
  • Mu You chose Riley’s Troll Tomb quest because he was already in the Elven Forest and wanted the Troll Reliquary’s summoning ability.
  • Mu You accepted the quest to take the Troll Reliquary into the tomb and absorb the remains of at least ten high trolls.

Ch. 189Troll Tomb

Mu You entered the Troll tomb with the Spirit Shrine and explored its maze while using the Pocket Watch and Arcane Missile to avoid patrols. He absorbed the remains of a Troll Chieftain, then was killed by the responding Trolls and revived at the Small Wooden House.

  • Mu You took the Troll Reliquary to the cave, where its aura kept the vengeful spirits from attacking him.
  • Mu You used the Pocket Watch and Arcane Missile to scout the maze, avoid hidden Troll patrols, and search for a high-ranking tomb.
  • Mu You found a Troll Chieftain’s grave and began absorbing its remains with the Spirit Shrine.
  • A Troll Scout discovered Mu You and called reinforcements, but Mu You held them off until the shrine finished absorbing the remains.
  • Mu You filled the Spirit Shrine to one of twenty sets of remains, was killed by the Trolls, and teleported back to the Small Wooden House.

Ch. 190First ride on a Chocobo

Mu You prepared for the Troll tomb quest, while Lin Xue created a new Black Magic spell and he brewed underwater-breathing potions. He entered the Star Spirit World with a mature Chocobo, reached the Elven Forest quickly, and left the mount there before continuing his quest.

  • Mu You found the Troll guards reinforced after he looted a chieftain's grave, so he mapped all twenty high-grade tombs instead of trying to collect more remains with his game character.
  • Lin Xue converted Netherfire into Netherfire Blast, a spell that dispelled magical effects and dealt five times its damage to soul-type creatures, and Mu You made several copies.
  • Mu You brewed ten Fish Gills Potions and traded Canned Fish Bait with the Mermaid for scales, but she declined his offer to return to the Star Spirit World.
  • Mu You took his mature Chocobo through the door with Lin Xue, Xiao Ya, and Little Spider, then teleported to Xiao Ya's treehouse in the Elven Forest.
  • Mu You rode the Chocobo to his destination in ten minutes and left it in the Elven Forest for his game character to use.

Ch. 191Fishing in Troubled Waters

Mu You infiltrated the Troll burial ground and drained graves to fill the Troll Reliquary, but the Trolls discovered the theft and threw the crypt into chaos. He reached the last grave and found a Troll Berserker standing guard over it.

  • Mu You used his concealment gear and the Troll Spirit Shrine to enter the crypt and follow his mapped route to the first grave.
  • Mu You discovered that the first grave held only half a set of remains because its energy had dissipated over time, then continued draining graves and hiding whenever Troll guards passed.
  • After Mu You drained the ninth grave, the Trolls discovered the theft and began searching the tunnels in a growing frenzy.
  • Mu You drained eighteen graves in succession, but the remains filled only fourteen of the Reliquary's twenty skull slots.
  • Mu You reached the final grave after struggling through the heightened patrols and found a level 15 Troll Berserker motionlessly guarding it.

Ch. 192Golden Light Beneath the Tomb

Mu You distracted the Trolls and Ghosts while the spirit shrine absorbed the remains of Troll War God Aroman, then fought the returning Troll Berserker to protect the process. He completed the absorption and glimpsed gold beneath the grave before the monsters overwhelmed him.

  • Mu You used a Wooden Doppelganger and summoned creatures to draw the catacombs' monsters away while the spirit shrine began absorbing Aroman's remains.
  • The Troll Berserker returned to the grave, but Mu You and Little Spider attacked him and eventually defeated him with the help of protective barriers.
  • With ten seconds left in the absorption, Mu You held off the surrounding Ghosts and Trolls using Netherfire Blast.
  • The shrine absorbed Aroman's remains, reaching progress 15/20, and Mu You grabbed it and Little Spider before the monsters engulfed him.
  • Mu You noticed a glimmer of gold in a hole beneath the grave, but the earth collapsed and the light disappeared.

Ch. 193The subjugation mission

Mu You reported that he had absorbed twenty High Troll tombs and earned 1,000 Forest Elves reputation. He persuaded Laili the Piper to let him join the Ranger Corps’ attack on the Troll Cavern in three days, hoping to find the golden treasure sealed in the War God’s Tomb.

  • Mu You suspected that the golden light remaining in the War God's Tomb came from a Legendary Grade item and decided his best chance to find it was to accompany the Elf Race’s troops.
  • Mu You summoned Laili the Piper with the Elf Horn and showed her the Troll Reliquary, which held fifteen lit skulls after absorbing twenty High Troll tombs.
  • Laili praised Mu You’s achievement and awarded him 1,000 Forest Elves reputation.
  • Mu You asked to join the Elf Race’s attack on the Troll cemetery, and Laili agreed to take him with the Ranger Corps when they moved out in three days.
  • Mu You accepted the special mission to subjugate the Trolls and healed Little Spider’s injuries with Healing Ointment.

Ch. 194Troll War God

Mu You inspected the newly empowered Troll summons and bought a high-level Food Creation spell and Life Element insights from Old Cat’s shop. He left with new magic and a stronger understanding of the Trolls’ potential.

  • Mu You praised Little Spider after its first proper battle, fed it a Loach Fish, and inspected the Troll Reliquary’s level 14 summons.
  • Mu You examined the Trolls’ support abilities and discovered that War God Aroman could eventually unlock Blood for Blood after evolving to level 15.
  • Mu You put away the Spirit Shrine and his companions, then visited Old Cat’s shop before its midnight stock refresh.
  • Mu You took the free Lighting Spell, learned it, and rewound time while waiting for the shop’s new delivery.
  • Mu You asked Old Cat for beginner’s Life Element insights and bought the high-level Food Creation Spell Scroll before purchasing the insights.

Ch. 195Ambushing Gemini

Mu You prepared for an ambush at Taurus's door by bringing Lin Xue, filling a Storage Bottle with seawater and assembling a hidden battlefield inside it. Gemini and his exhausted group arrived on the island to wait for the door to open, and Mu You's trap struck as Gemini lowered his guard.

  • Mu You bought a Recording Crystal, gathered his fish and Little Donkey, and returned to the Snowfield with Lin Xue and Xiao Ya.
  • Mu You and Lin Xue traveled by Chocobo and boat to the island where Taurus's door would open.
  • Mu You filled the Storage Bottle with seawater, added summoned Zombie Beasts and aquatic plants, and hid with Lin Xue to wait.
  • Gemini arrived with about a dozen people, ordered them to patrol in pairs and rest, and took the first watch with Xiao Zhao.
  • After Gemini finished his patrol and turned back toward the group, a Chain Claw shot from underwater, hooked him, and dragged him beneath the sea.

Ch. 196Suffocation Tactics

Lin Xue abducted Gemini underwater and Mu You trapped him in a bottle, repeatedly killing him with summoned creatures. Gemini realized his opponent was Aries, but Mu You kicked him back underwater before he could escape.

  • Lin Xue used Mu You's Merfolk Mask and Invisibility Cloak to capture the vice president and leave the island unnoticed.
  • Gemini awoke underwater with his mouth sealed, but an attacker stole his Merfolk Mask and a pack of sea monsters killed him.
  • Gemini revived inside a sealed bottle and attacked Mu You, but his strongest spells were weakened underwater and Mu You's summoned creatures killed him again.
  • Gemini recognized the four Zombie Beasts and Fish Gills Potions, deduced that the black-robed enemy was Aries, and tried to escape to the bottle's air pocket.
  • Gemini surfaced and called out Aries's identity, but Mu You teleported above him and kicked him back into the water.

Ch. 197Synthesis Furnace

Mu You killed Gemini after trapping him in a prolonged cycle of deaths, then inherited his crystal and recovered a damaged Synthesis Furnace. He and Lin Xue left the surviving Illuminati members alone and waited near the island for the door to open.

  • Mu You's summons repeatedly killed Gemini, who lost levels and tried to bargain before destroying his own possessions with Annihilation Spell.
  • On Gemini's sixty-seventh death, Mu You seized a furnace that resisted the spell, and he eventually killed Gemini 122 times.
  • Mu You inherited Gemini's crystal and ring, gaining the Shockwave, Fire Giant, and Annihilation Spell cards.
  • Mu You examined the damaged Synthesis Furnace and learned it could combine equipment and potions into higher-quality items.
  • Mu You and Lin Xue decided not to attack the remaining Illuminati members and waited until the island's door opened at half past ten.

Ch. 198The Ghost Ship Saw the Light of Day Again

Mu You and Lin Xue traced Taurus’s hideout to a likely location near Moscow, then farmed ghosts in the Devil Sea to gain experience and soul points. Mu You launched the repaired Ghost Ship toward the Lan'er Imperial Capital and later set out for Mist Mountain, while Lu Yao offered to fulfill his request for a Sunflower.

  • Mu You and Lin Xue used footage from a beetle’s recording crystal to infer that Taurus’s group was likely hiding in Moscow, then left the island without confronting them.
  • Mu You and Lin Xue hunted ghosts in the Devil Sea, raising Mu You to level 12, Lin Xue to level 9, and the Reaper’s Scythe’s stored soul points to 6,880.
  • Mu You inspected the repaired Ghost Ship, launched it onto the sea, and set its heading for the Lan'er Imperial Capital, with an estimated journey of five days.
  • Mu You returned to the Snowfield, prepared his game character, and rode a Chocobo toward Mist Mountain to find the blacksmith.
  • Lu Yao called Mu You about his World Forum request for a Sunflower and agreed to take the job for two Fine-grade items.

Ch. 199The Value of Lifespan

Mu You bought Lu Yao’s low-grade equipment to synthesize higher-grade gear, then learned that repairing his Synthesis Furnace required cold iron essence from Mist Mountain’s freezing summit. He discovered how to control the type and appearance of synthesized equipment, completed elven fighting training, and upgraded Wooden Doppelganger into powerful Black Magic.

  • Mu You agreed to buy all the common- and black iron-grade equipment in Lu Yao’s shop, trading her a fine-grade pair of Muddy Boots and arranging to buy her future low-grade stock.
  • Mu You learned that the Dwarf Blacksmith needed cold iron essence from Mist Mountain’s summit to repair the Synthesis Furnace, and received a crude map to its location.
  • Mu You experimented with the Synthesis Furnace and found that three matching-category items determined the result’s category, while the first item of that category determined its appearance.
  • Mu You synthesized his common-grade equipment with the Mithril Bow as the matching weapon, confirming that the finished item would retain the bow’s design and socket.
  • Mu You completed Elven Fighting Technique training and found that it improved his close-combat skill without changing his stats.
  • Mu You converted Wooden Doppelganger into Advanced Black Magic, creating a double that copied his stats, equipment, and ordinary magic but required his attention to control.

Ch. 200A Fellow Grave Robber

Mu You joined the elves' assault on the Trolls, found a rival player trying to rob the Troll War God's tomb, and killed him repeatedly before claiming the tomb's Legendary Grade axe. After the campaign, Mu You earned a Forest Guardian Seed and gave the ranger captain a recording of the rival's attack.

  • Mu You synthesized a Tracking Mithril Bow, bought and learned Strong Wind Gust and Underground Spell, and followed the elven rangers into battle against the Trolls.
  • Mu You reached the Troll War God's tomb, left a Wooden Doppelganger with his summons, and encountered the invisible player Gray Eyes.
  • Gray Eyes attacked Mu You first, so Mu You recorded the attack, killed Gray Eyes four times, and drove him away.
  • Mu You used Underground Spell and the Pumpkin Lantern to find Berserker's Roar, a Legendary Grade axe hidden beneath the tomb.
  • Mu You helped the elves finish their campaign, earned Revered reputation and a Forest Guardian Seed, then showed the ranger captain his recording of Gray Eyes.
