It was as if the traffic network was conspiring against the three of them. From the moment they entered the city, they'd been stuck in traffic. After being held up for ages, they finally made it back to Vic's clinic.
Jack hurried off to Misty's Esoterica, while V kicked open the wire gate leading to the back alley and headed straight for Vic's clinic.
"Vic!" V dropped into a chair. "Get your cyberware ready. I've got money now! A whole lot of money!"
Vic had been watching a boxing match and was still staring at the screen when he heard V's voice-
It had been far too long since he'd seen the three of them.
"V? Lier? You're back? Where's Jackie?"
Lier pointed behind them. "He went to unwind, of course."
Vic got up from his chair and looked at Lier and V with a pleased smile. Then he reached out and squeezed Lier's arm.
"You're looking solid. Did you solve your problem?"
Lier shrugged. "Halfway. At least I don't have to live on a tight schedule anymore. I came by to see what you could do."
With a big wad of cash in hand, they could finally spend it.
Vic smiled as he switched on all the equipment in the clinic and pulled on his surgical gloves. "All right-let's see how much buying power Night City's three big shots have."
V gave him a mysterious smile. "Vic, I'm afraid you'll faint when you see my account balance. Want a shot of adrenaline first?"
"What kind of situation haven't I seen? Which of you is going first?"
