Only after connecting to the Brain Maggot Gang's massive database did Lier realize how tricky this was-
Even in the Cyberpunk World, neurological problems were among the most difficult conditions at the cutting edge of medicine.
If you were rich, you were in luck. Your nervous system was monitored around the clock from birth, and the Cyberware and Firmware you used were top-of-the-line. You also tended to be even-tempered. Generally speaking, you wouldn't blow a blood vessel as often as a Street Kid.
Once your nervous system was damaged, the cost of treatment rose exponentially.
Joestar's Mom's condition was even more serious: under the effects of certain drugs, her brain's white matter had undergone significant pathological growth. Those three members of the Brain Maggot Gang had no choice but to perform a craniotomy on her, to keep her intracranial pressure from turning her brain to mush.
They had also connected a full 160 processing units directly to her brain. The external Skill Shards they had collected covered every category, including skill operations, knowledge enhancement, combat skills, basic medical care, art, communication, and social skills. In just a few months, they had collected more than ten thousand different Shards.
Those Shards had become impossible to read in detail after the Electromagnetic Pulse and the system failure, but Little Octopus could still make a rough estimate of how many there were.
With Little Octopus's data-processing capabilities, any abnormalities in the shared memories between Joestar and his mother caused by fluctuations in "emotion" would be separated out as a whole, then stored again in the corresponding sectors of the brain.
In short, Joestar was responsible for experiencing the hallucinations, and the resulting emotions would be recognized and felt by the two humans, Lier and Doom Doom. Finally, Little Octopus would process them.
But
