Negative Energy seemed to have two dimensions to its abilities. The first was abstract: reversing moral values.
The second dimension was rather more outrageous: in the comics and several Marvel settings, it granted Martin superhuman strength, and even let him release energy blasts, turn those blasts into melee weapons, or even let his underlings use them.
However, once all that energy was transferred to someone else, things became less outrageous. The energy would heal its new owner, but would not necessarily retain its original power.
Of course, in Lier's case, perhaps it was because this world's Martin and his Negative Energy had yet to grow that powerful.
Lier could clearly feel his mind becoming clearer, much as it had when he first used the Lizard Serum and his brain cells first became more active.
It was as though the world had always been shrouded in fog, but he had grown accustomed to it. Only when the fog lifted did he realize his thoughts and perspective could become clearer still.
All his cancer cells would revert to healthy cells, completely eliminating the risk of rapid regeneration causing cancer or other genetic diseases and fully activating his body's vitality.
And although he could not use this energy to enhance his physique or conjure weapons as Martin did, Lier suddenly discovered...
He now had a keener sense for people's thoughts and consciousness.
If people's emotions were unknown things inside boxes, then ordinarily, sensing what others were thinking was like judging what might be inside from a box's wrapping, patterns, and shape.
But now, Lier felt that when he tried to prod the box enclosing someone's psyche, he could almost see straight through it and watch their little thoughts stir inside.
It was not X-ray vision, but it would greatly help him engage in
