Elsewhere.
While Qin Manjiang and Zuo Xian descended into the underground passage to explore [Its] tomb, a special visitor arrived at Guanyin Village.
The Old Village Chief stood at the village entrance with the few young and middle-aged men in the village, watching for him.
Thin mountain mist filled the hollow. The branches and leaves faintly visible through it resembled a few casual brushstrokes in a landscape painting, full of charm.
Before long, a man wearing a black Tang suit emerged from the mist.
The Old Village Chief's eyes lit up. He tugged awkwardly at his clothes, then turned to the villagers behind him. "Stay sharp, all of you."
"Yes, Village Chief!"
Still uneasy, Old Man Zhao asked one more question. "Is the pig roasted?"
"Yes, we can carry it down anytime!"
"Good, that's good." The Old Village Chief sighed in relief, an excited smile spreading across his face as he hurried forward to greet him.
One man followed closely behind the Village Chief. He could not help taking several careful looks ahead and muttered, "This Divine Envoy is so young?"
"Shut up. Don't say things you shouldn't."
Old Man Zhao scolded him under his breath. By then, the visitor had already drawn close.
"Bai Divine Envoy!"
Old Man Zhao hurriedly bowed in greeting. Such a formal gesture was rarely seen in modern society, but only as he bowed did he notice that a little child was actually following behind the Divine Envoy.
The visitor was Bai Gu. Seeing Old Man Zhao's odd expression, he stepped aside to reveal the child behind him. The boy was only five or six years old, with bright eyes and fine, well-proportioned features. He was very cute.
"This is my descendant. Just call him Little Yang," Bai Gu introduced him in an even tone.
