Veronalara was deeply shocked by the current state of the battle. The Zandalari Troll fleet had been sunk by them, with only a handful of ships escaping the battlefield amid the chaos. The fruits of victory had exceeded expectations somewhat. What surprised the Dark Ranger even more was that Tatsel's vanguard had managed to hold out for so long.
Using a small force to disrupt the enemy formation was a good idea, but an extremely risky one. Simply drawing out nearly all the Zandalari ships could have caused the tactic to fail before the follow-up forces arrived.
Fortunately, the outcome was good. In less than an hour, the Forsaken had occupied the beach. The defenses built by the Zandalari now belonged to them. But the war was not over. Zandalari reinforcements and Mogu from elsewhere on the Isle of Thunder were on their way, and clearly their Thunder King did not wish to see the harbor fall.
Their first priority was to secure a foothold on the coast, which would take several more hours, but Veronalara had no desire to wait. She strode over to Tatsel, who was receiving treatment from an apothecary.
"I counted them. We lost nine warships."
Tatsel looked up and gave Veronalara a smile. She seemed quite satisfied with the outcome, despite the losses—or perhaps she was simply saying that the Zandalari had lost more.
Either way, Veronalara could not be happy. The Forsaken had never lost so many in a single battle, not even at Stromgarde or in Northrend against the Lich King.
"We should be able to launch an attack on the Thunder King now," she said.
Tatsel's expression immediately turned troubled. "The Witherer only ordered us to seize the beach. If we go deeper into the Isle of Thunder to fight the Mogu,
