The next morning.
Jiang Lan had just opened his eyes when he felt his phone vibrate.
He picked up the phone beside him and checked it. It was a message from Wei Chong.
[Training resumes. Nine o'clock. Training Room.]
Jiang Lan checked the time.
It was not yet eight.
He had enough time.
He got up, washed up quickly, changed into his Training Uniform, and went downstairs.
"You're up early. Training today?"
"Yes."
By then, Shen Qingqiu had already made breakfast and set out Jiang Lan's portion too.
Jiang Lan sat down at the dining table and said:
"I don't need to go out of the city anymore. My teacher couldn't sit still, so he called me in for training."
"Okay. Be careful all the same."
"Don't worry."
After breakfast and a brief chat with Shen Qingqiu, Jiang Lan got up and headed out.
When he arrived at the Training Room, Wei Chong was already waiting inside, as usual.
Seeing Jiang Lan enter, Wei Chong looked him up and down a few times.
This time, however, his gaze lingered on Jiang Lan longer than usual.
"Did you gain anything from those days outside?"
Jiang Lan grinned.
"Yes. Quite a lot, actually."
Wei Chong's eyebrows rose almost imperceptibly.
"Want to give it a try?"
"Let's try!"
Neither said anything more. They took their stances.
Jiang Lan pushed off the floor and shot toward Wei Chong like a cannonball.
Wei Chong moved almost simultaneously, throwing a punch at a speed that was still absurdly fast.
Yet Jiang Lan still caught his movements with perfect clarity.
Jiang Lan shifted his footing and activated Wind-Walking Step, changing direction to dodge the punch.
Not to be outdone, he seized the opening in Wei Chong's attack and drove an elbow straight toward his side.
