Ch. 381The Wall God's Prophecy

Rilielsa dragged Lord Dar into the darkness as Linda protected Kallen, while Kallen and Muli discussed the aftermath of their mission. In Reincarnation Valley, Kallen reunited with Mr. Bede and Piaget, then found a painting that showed Linda flying toward Piaget instead of the Wall God.

  • Rilielsa seized Lord Dar and fell with him as Linda said she was protecting Kallen because he owed her husband money.
  • Kallen spoke with Muli outside the tents, then checked Thousand Enchantments in his consciousness space and went back to sleep.
  • Kallen and his squad went into town for lunch, where he spotted Mr. Bede and Piaget leaving an art studio.
  • Kallen treated Mr. Bede and Piaget to a meal, and Mr. Bede asked whether he still planned to marry Eunice; Kallen said he did.
  • After Mr. Bede and Piaget left, Kallen found their forgotten painting and saw that Linda was flying toward Piaget rather than the Wall God.

Ch. 382An interlude

Kallen and his companions returned from the Gate of Reincarnation, endured questioning and a succession of banquets, and secured approval to establish their Whip of Order Squad in York City. At the final banquet, Whip Bearer Fuden Airode welcomed them into the organization with its motto.

  • Kallen studied Mr. Bede’s painting, paid the restaurant bill, and promised to arrange a building in York City for his subordinates.
  • Kallen’s group visited the Gate of Reincarnation, where he spoke with Lango about the battlefield, the revived Wall God, and the churches’ plans for exchanges.
  • The group returned through the transit island to Dinge District, received Throne of Order figurines from Commander Geluowen, and endured a day of questioning.
  • Kallen and his companions attended several banquets at the Zeliya Hotel, where Kallen and Muli received official letters to establish their Whip of Order Squads.
  • Fuden Airode arrived at the final banquet, advised the young recruits, and led them in answering, “For Order!”

Ch. 383Homecoming

Kallen returned to York City and reunited with Neo, who bought information about an extinct family’s burial complex for a planned expedition near Sangpu City. Neo assigned the expedition as Kallen’s squad’s first private mission, and Kallen came home to prepare for his team before reuniting with Puer.

  • Neo picked Kallen up and heard how Kallen had been Orderized, then offered to obtain records about the God of Order from the Principle God Church.
  • Neo took Kallen to Costa’s massage-service front and bought a burial-complex map for 48,000 Order Vouchers.
  • Neo said he would plan the expedition and have Kallen lead his squad, with their share of the proceeds and a negotiated cut for Neo.
  • Kallen instructed Alfred to prepare the former apartment building for his squad and to record his Point Vouchers separately from the household accounts.
  • Kallen found Puer hiding in a pillow, greeted her, and told her she had gotten fat.

Ch. 384The dog called to account

Kallen recounted his experiences in Reincarnation Valley to Puer, Kevin, and Alfred, revealing that Puer’s power had grown and that he had captured Thousand Enchantments. The creature mistook Kevin for its protector and challenged Kallen, leaving Kevin caught between them.

  • Puer demonstrated her precise fire magic, and Kallen told her she had become an elder protecting the family’s heartland.
  • Kallen described his dream encounter with Linda and the Wall God, and Alfred and Kevin proposed that Linda might be tied to the Wall God’s choice of a successor.
  • Puer realized Kallen’s Orderization had expanded her capacity and celebrated her chance to break free of the limits imposed by the Allen family faith system.
  • Kallen recounted how Kevin had led the group into danger and how he met Lord Dar, then reassured Kevin that he did not blame him for the past.
  • Kallen summoned Thousand Enchantments, which feared Kallen and Puer but latched onto Kevin, then hissed a challenge at Kallen from Kevin’s bald head.

Ch. 385We asked for too little!

Kallen began establishing his Whip of Order Squad with Neo’s help while preparing for an upcoming ancient tomb assignment and a possible security assignment for the Moon Goddess Church delegation. When officials added Philomina Felsher to his roster without asking, Neo invoked Kallen’s powerful backing and secured a much larger share of future assignment rewards, leaving them both to realize they had asked for too little.

  • Kallen kept Thousand Enchantments restrained, rested through the night, and made breakfast for himself and Neo, who explained that the Moon Goddess Church delegation had arrived in York City to discuss cooperation.
  • Neo took Kallen to the Whip of Order headquarters and the Church Administration Building to process his squad’s paperwork, where Kallen chose a monthly office subsidy instead of an office.
  • Kallen discovered that Philomina Felsher had been added to his squad without his consent, but he signaled Neo that he was willing to accept her if the interference was addressed.
  • Neo confronted the officials, cited Whip Bearer Fudeng’s promise that Kallen could build an elite squad, and demanded either cancellation or a sincere offer.
  • Bishop Woforen approved the demand, and a department director raised Kallen’s share of assignment rewards from five percent to twelve percent before Neo changed it to twenty-five percent; the director stamped the revised agreement.

Ch. 386Favors

Kallen completed the procedures to establish his Whip of Order Squad and visited Richard’s home, where he learned Inquisitor Dark feared a work inquiry could derail his transfer. The chapter ended when Philomina Felsher arrived as a guest, prompting Richard to lament his luck.

  • Neo and Kallen negotiated a twenty-five-percent share of mission rewards, and Neo sent Kallen to finish establishing his squad.
  • Kallen learned Inquisitor Dark feared being held accountable for an escaped demon and asked him to seek Old Delong’s help with his transfer.
  • Old Delong told Madam Tang Li that Dark’s accountability was mostly a formality, but he waited for Dark to ask for help himself.
  • Kallen visited Mr. Eisen and considered whether he could treat Eisen’s bloodline curse, then checked on Richard, who had gained better control of his abilities.
  • Philomina Felsher arrived at Richard’s home with a fruit basket, and Richard reacted with dismay.

Ch. 387Curfew!

Kallen visited acquaintances and returned to the Funeral Society as the Sacred Flame Faithful gathered in growing numbers across Vienne. A late-night order then instructed him that no Order cleric was to interfere with society that night.

  • Philomina visited the Tang Li household, told Kallen she saw reality as a dream, and agreed to join his squad as a member under his captaincy.
  • Kallen shared dinner with Richard and Philomina, then visited Selena and her family at the Lemaire Pottery Gallery.
  • On his taxi ride to the Funeral Society, Kallen encountered the Sacred Flame Faithful and heard the driver voice hatred toward purple-haired immigrants.
  • Kallen returned to the Funeral Society and sent Alfred to bring Xili back from her family’s home so she could make him a late-night snack.
  • Kallen received an urgent call from Gengdi, who relayed an order that no Order cleric was to interfere with the normal functioning of society that night.

Ch. 388Protect Our Maid

Xili visited her family and helped with their chores before a mob of Sacred Flame believers attacked the gray-white building and began killing and assaulting its residents. As Xili faced two attackers while helping her brother and cousins escape, an unseen force seized the men and Kallen appeared.

  • Xili washed dishes at home and reassured her mother that she was content working as a maid for Young Master.
  • Xili shared food with her younger brother, who said he hoped to become a great man like Mr. Luther.
  • Sacred Flame believers gathered outside the gray-white building, burned captives, and attacked its residents.
  • Xili's family urged her to escape with her brother and cousins, and she helped them descend from the building by a rope made of bedsheets.
  • Two white-robed attackers confronted Xili after she landed, but an invisible force lifted them into the air as Kallen appeared.

Ch. 389God-Making!

Alfred rescued Xili and her family from a massacre targeting purple-haired people, while the Order Temple intervened in York City and inspected the Principle God Church’s attempt to create a New God. Kallen and Neo prepared to investigate the hidden forces behind the violence.

  • Alfred killed two white-robed men, then rescued Xili’s relatives from their besieged building and brought them to the Funeral Society for treatment.
  • Puer agreed to help treat Xili’s wounded father, and Alfred learned from Fanny that Kallen had gone to meet Neo.
  • The Divine Temple Envoy confronted Bishop Byrne over a district notice and ordered the guards to teleport him to the Principle God Church’s secret research site.
  • Bishop Mengbala revealed that the Principle God Church was trying to create a New God, though a notice had made success far less likely.
  • Neo told Kallen he suspected a secret behind the massacre and vowed to investigate, while Kallen offered him a choice among his many powers and beliefs.

Ch. 390We are the same

Neo and Kallen chose disguises and powers before heading out to investigate the unrest, while a school defended by purple-haired residents fell after Neka betrayed its principal. Neka joined the attackers, but they turned on him too, leaving Tansai’s words echoing as he lay injured.

  • Neo and Kallen rejected conspicuous identities, used Thousand Enchantments and the Chains of Order, and went into the city to investigate.
  • Sacred Flame believers launched repeated assaults on the purple-haired school, but Principal Tansai and the residents held them back with help from neighborhood reinforcements.
  • Neka led five purple-haired hospital workers into the school by pretending to join its defense.
  • As Tansai urged the residents to unite and resist violence, Neka stabbed him and accused him of inciting resistance.
  • The attackers stormed the school after Tansai fell, then struck Neka with a knife and an iron rod as he welcomed them.

Ch. 391An extravagant opponent

Neo and Kallen fled with the jar after discovering that its bearer had been booby-trapped, while a well-funded force tracked them using Teleportation Magic Formations. Kallen fought off a remotely controlled armored opponent and recognized the force behind it as connected to the Church of Principles, but his attempt to confirm this ended in confusion.

  • Neo killed the white-robed man carrying the jar, but the man's body burned to powder after gray hands marked Neo and his soul.
  • Neo and Kallen ran toward a Photography Studio to escape their pursuers, then split up when Teleportation Magic Formations appeared ahead and behind them.
  • A woman in white armor confronted Kallen, and her distant operators switched control of the puppet while summoning a spear through its wrist guard.
  • The armored woman attacked with a spear that unleashed a Black Hole, a Spiritual Storm, and blasts of force, but Kallen and Thousand Enchantments survived the assault.
  • Kallen outmaneuvered the woman, pierced her armor, and seized the Yellow Sea Urchin inside it while fending off soul-burning flames with the Flame of Light.
  • Kallen suspected the attacker belonged to the Church of Principles and tried praising its god, but two voices in the sea urchin stammered out the name before he smacked them.

Ch. 392Have you been corrupted?

Kallen escaped the search after helping Neo flee with the Honey Pot, then struggled with the churches’ role in York City’s violence as he returned home. At Church Headquarters, High Priest Norton confronted Elder Xidi over the joint experiment with the Principle God Church and accused her of being corrupted.

  • Kallen destroyed the yellow sea urchin, evaded three armored pursuers by hiding in a home, and left 500 Rael under the bed for his lodging.
  • Neo killed an armored figure, escaped the photography studio through a Teleportation Magic Formation, and successfully teleported away with the clay jar.
  • Kallen left the home, accidentally caused a taxi crash after giving the driver a special cigarette, and paid him 500 Rael before continuing on foot.
  • Kallen encountered Mr. Luther’s group and learned from Siasen and Natick that the Whip of Order had been protecting him, including the previous night.
  • High Priest Norton challenged Elder Xidi over the Divine Temple’s experiment with the Principle God Church and accused her of blasphemy and corruption.

Ch. 393Betrayal!

Kallen helped Mrs. Sidra move and heard her condemn the Order God Church for its role in the previous night’s violence. After Kallen left, Mrs. Sidra awakened her mummified husband and offered her body to the Rula Evil Spirit sealed inside him, declaring that the church had betrayed her.

  • Kallen met Alaye and Mrs. Sidra, then helped her move her furniture in exchange for roast fish and wine.
  • Mrs. Sidra told Kallen about her husband’s death in the Rula war, her writing, and her belief that the church and empire obstructed equality.
  • After Kallen and Alaye left, Mrs. Sidra revealed her husband’s mummified body in the basement and explained that he had died sealing a Rula Evil Spirit.
  • Mrs. Sidra used Order Awakening to revive her husband, despite his warning that the evil spirit would awaken with him.
  • Mrs. Sidra offered her body to the Rula Evil Spirit, and her husband accused her of betraying the church; she replied that the church had betrayed her.

Ch. 394Save me

Mrs. Sidra freed the evil spirit from her dead husband’s body and planned to use it to hunt Order clerics, while Kallen prepared for his new Whip of Order Squad in York City. The chapter ended with Neo calling Kallen for help, saying he could not hold on much longer.

  • Mrs. Sidra let the evil spirit enter her and agreed to help it hunt Order clerics in exchange for a year of service, then burned the basement and destroyed her husband’s corpse.
  • Mrs. Sidra considered Kallen as the evil spirit’s first target, but changed her mind after seeing the purple-haired people greet him outside the Funeral Society.
  • Kallen welcomed Xili and her rescued family home, then arranged for them to move into Allen Apartment and help serve the new squad.
  • Kallen spoke with Muli, who planned to arrive in York City at one in the morning, and arranged a breakfast and a gathering for the squad members arriving the next day.
  • Kallen asked Puer and Kevin to prepare communication magic formations and planned to visit Allen Manor after the squad gathering.
  • Neo called Kallen and said he was in danger and could not hold on much longer.

Ch. 395Bloodline awakening!

Kallen found Neo struggling to resist the emotional and spiritual power he had absorbed from the jar, and agreed to fight him to force the madness out. As Neo's power escalated, Kallen discovered the captain was Awakening Light's Last Mad Pope Bloodline.

  • Kallen found Neo confined in a watchtower, where Neo explained that he had absorbed a colorful mist from the jar and was being overwhelmed by the Sacred Flame believers' emotions and faith.
  • Neo asked Kallen to beat him down to counter the madness, so Kallen made him exhaust more of his power before the fight.
  • Neo lost control and attacked Kallen, who defended himself with the Sword of Arius, Sea God Armor, Order powers, and other abilities.
  • Kallen and Neo fought fiercely, but Neo's light power and relentless attacks pushed Kallen into a difficult struggle.
  • Neo manifested powerful Light Armor and weapons, while Kallen held back from striking him as a figure in the robes of the God of Light appeared behind him.
  • Kallen realized that Neo was Awakening Light's Last Mad Pope Bloodline.

Ch. 396A brutal beating!

Kallen and Neo fought after Neo awakened the Mad Pope’s bloodline, with Kallen eventually overpowering him despite suffering severe injuries and pollution. After the battle, they discussed Neo’s new inheritance and left together, with Neo recovering in Kallen’s car.

  • Kallen prepared the Sword of Arius and waited while Neo’s Mad Pope’s Phantom stabilized and his equipment transformed.
  • Neo charged Kallen, repeatedly increasing his speed until he struck Kallen in the chest and sent him flying.
  • Kallen realized he could boost his speed by squeezing the power within him, then counterattacked and stabbed Neo repeatedly until Neo regained control and told him to stop.
  • Kallen expelled the Light Flame and endured the pollution from Neo’s wounds as the two exchanged jokes and discussed Neo’s awakening of the Mad Pope’s bloodline.
  • Kallen helped Neo into his car, asked him to cover the cost of vehicle modifications, and learned that Neo’s first plan had been to transfer energy into him and then beat him up.

Ch. 397Terror

Kallen recovered from his fight with Neo while preparing to welcome the members of his new squad, but his hunger surged when Puer entered the bathroom and saw his changed eyes. Kevin recognized the danger from an ancient memory of the Throne of Order, and the chapter ended with Kallen’s hunger threatening everyone nearby.

  • Neo drank coffee in the hearse, discussed his bond with the Mad Pope, and agreed to spar with Kallen again after healing.
  • Muli arrived in York City, met Alfred, and learned the squad’s members would gather for an inaugural banquet at the Funeral Society.
  • Alfred arranged the apartment staff and transportation, while Puer encouraged Muli to prove himself to the Benda Family.
  • Kallen asked Muli to take on vice-captain responsibilities, then tried to cleanse his injuries in a bath and struggled against a sudden hunger.
  • Puer entered the washroom and saw desire in Kallen’s black eyes; Kevin collapsed in terror as he recalled Kallen once saying, “Raniedal, I'm hungry.”

Ch. 398Hurting each other

Kallen fought the hunger driven by Order by burning his own soul with a Light Flame rather than devouring Thousand Enchantments. Meanwhile, the new squad members gathered at the Funeral Society, where they found Kallen pale and preparing dinner.

  • Kallen forced Kevin to take Puer out, then resisted his hunger as the Chains of Order bound Thousand Enchantments before him.
  • Kallen rejected the urge to devour Thousand Enchantments and used a Light Flame to roast his own soul, challenging Order to keep tempting him.
  • Muli welcomed Mars and Blanche to York City, and Alfred brought them to the Funeral Society, where Richard gave the newcomers gifts.
  • Aisili, Bart, Ventura, Muli, Mars, Blanche, Richard, and Memphis gathered at the Funeral Society, and Ventura brought Philomina over from across the street.
  • Kallen came out in his Order Clerical Robes with a pale face and told the assembled teammates he would prepare dinner.

Ch. 399Family!

Kallen hosted a first dinner for his newly formed squad while concealing how badly the power of Order had weakened his soul. After discussing plans for their first mission, he refused Philomina’s way of escaping suffering, but agreed to face the hunger together with Puer using their Symbiosis Contract.

  • Kallen cooked a lavish meal for the squad, and Puer told Alfred that Kallen might need a reinforced coffin when his torment returned.
  • At dinner, Kallen explained that his soul was weak from obtaining a power, then told the squad about a family-tomb mission they could undertake in two days.
  • Alfred painted a portrait of the squad, and Kallen told everyone to complete their assumption-of-duty procedures the next day.
  • After the squad left, Philomina offered Kallen her family’s spell art for escaping into a separate space, but Kallen refused and said he would face his suffering directly.
  • Puer proposed that they each use a coffin and share Kallen’s pain through the Symbiosis Contract, and Kallen agreed.

Ch. 400Fellow Patients

Muli gathered the newly formed squad at Allen Apartment to share their interests, while Kallen visited Neo at the Church Hospital to collect a grave-robbing proposal. Kallen then met an old man and his wife in the next ward, where their argument over cigarettes revealed a lively history together.

  • Muli held a meeting so the squad could get to know one another, and Alfred recorded their interests as possible Funeral Society roles.
  • Richard worried that his teammates were much stronger than him, and Memphis offered him point vouchers before they returned to their rooms.
  • Kallen went to the Church Hospital with Muli and collected Neo’s proposal for robbing a tomb near Sangpu City.
  • Neo warned Kallen about an organization hostile to irreverence toward God and shared information that the tomb’s family might be the Conjers.
  • Kallen secretly gave cigarettes to an old professor in the next ward, but the professor’s wife caught them and confronted him.
  • The old couple argued over smoking and stabbing, then reminisced about how she used to light his cigarettes when they were dating.
