Nightmare
Trier, Honest Market District.
Leon, who looked like a scholar, stood at the front of the living room, solemnly and respectfully preaching to the members of the Church Order.
He has moved out of the Golden Rooster Inn because the Church Order has grown too large.
Although the official forces in the Honest Market District didn't seem to care much about his private dissemination of the Other Gods' faith, Leon felt that it was best to be cautious and avoid making a big fuss.
If the Devout and fanatical followers of the "Eternal Blazing Sun" or the "God of Steam and Machinery" in the Market District discover the Disease Church and go to the Church to report and protest every day, the two major Church will have to do something about it, even if they don't want to!
Moreover, with the increasing number of his followers, Leon did indeed need a temporary residence to serve as the underground Church.
Having finished his Sermon Leon raised his hands, making a pushing motion, and his voice suddenly became high-pitched:
"Praise be to you, Scion of the King of Yellow and Black, priest of Apocalypse and war, Many-Faced One conqueror, true God of Disease!"
"Praise be to you, Ancient One Beyond the Ages, One Who Remains Forever Young, Messenger of disease and Plague, Lady spreads Pain and Despair, Protector of the Human Spirit of Adventure, Consort of the great God of Disease!"
The believers gathered in the living room followed suit, performing the same actions and completing the final praise of the Ritual.
Leon listened to the echoes of their voices, he suddenly felt a little dazed.
He didn't really understand why the Honorific Name of the two Deity were changed again and again, especially the great "God of Plague," Honorific Name had been changed several times and was almost unrecognizable from the Primordial One description. Moreover, the title of "God of Disease" was reclaimed, and the "God of Illness" became his Consort and Queen.
Leon had inquired about this matter with His Holiness Pope Pope, who replied that it symbolized the elevation of the person and Authority of the "God of Plague."
After the praises were finished, Leon gestured to the priest assisting him to distribute Priest.
Holy Communion consists of a beverage and a food.
Choose one from Absinthe, Red Wine, or cooled Boiled Water; choose one from Mashed Potatoes or Meat Pie.
Seeing the believers enjoying communion with such contentment and genuine joy, Leon felt a deep sense of accomplishment, knowing that his efforts over the past year had not been in vain.
In the afternoon, he left his residence and went to the Saint Robles Church on Market Avenue.
This wasn't because he secretly still believed in the "Eternal Blazing Sun," but because he felt the Disease Church was developing rapidly and many things would become more and more formalized. He and other bishops needed to think about some details in advance and be ready to offer advice and suggestions to His Holiness the Pope to improve all aspects of daily worship, large-scale Mass, and the Church's Holy Scripture texts.
In this matter, the Church the Orthodox God is a very good reference.
Market Avenue was as bustling as ever, with Outsider from the Steam Train Station pouring into the Sea of Trier like a river. Some chose to take horse-drawn carriages, while others carried suitcases and walked. Some were not careful enough and had their wallets stolen, frantically shouting and chasing after the thieves, while the patrolling Police offered little help.
Leon entered the Saint Robles Church and saw a bishop who was quite unfamiliar standing in front of the Altar.
He Past and asked, puzzled, "Is Bishop Christopher not here today?"
That One unfamiliar young bishop gave a complicated laugh:
"Bishop Christopher has been transferred elsewhere, and I will take over his duties."
You may call me Evelyn.
Another new bishop has arrived... Leon couldn't help but frown.
In his Homeland, apart from Priest and bishops whose status rises rapidly, others stay in one place for several years, some even for more than ten or twenty years, presiding over a village Church. Saint Robles Church has had five bishops in the past year.
This person is now in sixth place!
It wasn't like this in the first half of Last Year...
The bishop That One with me when I first arrived in Trier stayed here for more than half a year...
Leon instantly recalled the many Change that had taken place in the Church the Eternal Blazing Sun over the past year:
The "Eternal Blazing Sun," Honorific Name had never been changed, seemed to act like its own "God of Plague," issuing Divine Revelation that drastically altered its original Honorific Name. Even the status of the Sun Sacred Emblem was changed; it was no longer placed on the Altar but was reduced to one of the sacred symbols!
Leon turned his gaze to the Altar and saw a huge Cross standing there.
He exchanged a few pleasantries with Bishop Evelyn, then sat down in the first row of chairs and pretended to pray.
Not long after, he, being a "Warlock," suddenly had a premonition and opened his eyes abruptly, turning his head to look to the side.
He saw Lugano, who had once again become his direct superior.
The Archbishop of Trier, Sequence 5 Druid from the Trier Diocese of the Disease Church, has somehow appeared at the Church of Saint Robles Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun!
Upon noticing Leon's presence, the thick-browed, large-eyed Lugano showed no sign of panic or fear. He removed his Medium-Height Silk Top Hat, sat down next to his subordinate, gazed at the massive Cross on the Altar, and asked in a low voice, "What brings you to the Church the Eternal Blazing Sun?"
"Your Archbishop, I wish to learn how to Sermon more effectively," Leon explained humbly.
He did not ask Lugano the purpose of his visit to the Saint Robles Church.
Lugano chuckled to himself, "Me too."
He sighed, then added, "I also came to enjoy the Sunlight."
"Feel the Sunlight?" Leon asked, puzzled.
Looking at the huge Cross on the Altar, Lugano said, "I always feel that the Sunlight outside is not intense enough, not warm enough, and cannot dispel the coldness and fear in my heart. Only the Sunlight here can shine into my soul and let me forget those anxieties."
"Uneasy?" Leon also sensed unease.
What troubled him was that the Archbishop's words were somewhat Blasphemy and lacked Devout:
What cold and fear cannot be resolved or eliminated by the great "God of Disease" and the great "Queen of God of Disease"? Why not pray to them, or seek help from His Holiness the Pope, instead of coming to the Saint Robles Church of Church "Eternal Blazing Sun" to feel the Sunlight?
"Will I be silenced for overhearing the Archbishop's Blasphemy words?" Leon worried. Lugano withdrew his gaze, observed Bishop Evelyn who had already walked to the long tables on the side of the Church, and said in a low voice, "I've been having Nightmare for a long time. Haven't you?"
"No." Leon was very certain.
"Do you often feel uneasy?" Lugano asked further.
Leon shook his head at first, then answered uncertainly, "I am a ' Warlock,' with strong spirituality. When I encounter problems, I have an uneasy premonition, but the subsequent troubles are avoided because of this, and once the problem is solved, the corresponding unease disappears."
Lugano sighed again:
"I had Nightmare for a very long time, and I would wake up in fright every time."
"Haven't you consulted His Holiness the Pope about the root of the problem?" Leon asked tentatively.
Lugano smiled and said, "I've asked, and I even prayed to the great ' God of Disease ' and the great ' Queen of God of Disease,' and the answer I received was:"
"Don't worry about it, but don't get close either."
"Don't worry about me, I understand. What does 'don't get close' mean? Does delving into Nightmare lead to one's own downfall, being dragged into the Abyss?" Leon instinctively began to analyze these two sentences.
Suddenly, he remembered something else:
A Mysticism circle he joined recently ran into trouble, apparently caused by Beyonder using the "Planter" Pathway.
In another Mysticism circle associated with him, the host and many members warned everyone to be wary of Beyonder follow the Pathway of "Planter" and "Apothecary".
His Archbishop is Sequence 5 "Druid" in the "Planter" Pathway... Is his frequent Nightmare related to the anomalies in these two Pathway? Leon didn't dare to say what was on his mind.
Lugano continued, "His Holiness the Pope also told me that when I'm feeling my worst, I can go to the ' Eternal Blazing Sun ' Church for a while."
"I see..." Leon said, indicating his understanding.
But Depths, he still intended to use the Mirror to report this matter to Pope Holiness the Pope; he couldn't just accept whatever the Archbishop said, could he?
Lugano stayed at the Saint Robles Church until evening before leaving, busying himself with various affairs of the Disease Church Trier Diocese.
As Late Night fell, he finally returned to his rented Apartment, drank a glass of Milk, stretched, and finished his bedtime prayers.
After washing up, Lugano lay down on the bed and turned off the Gas Wall Lamp.
He gazed at the ceiling bathed in darkness and the Crimson Moonlight filtering through the curtains, watching the Distortion patterns formed by the interplay of light and shadow, unwilling to close his eyes for a long time.
He was afraid to sleep, afraid to dream.
He tried changing his schedule, working at night and resting during the day, but the Nightmare still came.
After an unknown amount of time, Lugano finally fell asleep.
In a daze, he suddenly shuddered, as if he had come to his senses.
He saw the familiar Grayish-White Fog and the Stone Slab soaked in water.
Here we go again... Lugano is not surprised at all.
That Nightmare arrived as predicted.
He staggered to the edge of the Grayish-White Fog, but dared not venture out. He could only remain there, gazing outwards, into the Depths of the Dream.
He vaguely saw a familiar street.
That's where he lives now.
But in the dream, the streets and houses had completely collapsed, not a single one was spared, and the same scene stretched into the distance, with no end in sight.
Bathed in the Crimson Moonlight, the Ruins, in their disorder, decay, desolation, and deathly silence, revealed a strange and eerie beauty, long abandoned yet imbued with a unique spirituality.
Green Plants have climbed all the destroyed buildings, some densely packed, as if covering the dead houses with Shroud, others bearing abundant, fresh and juicy fruit.
Looking at this scene, Lugano felt a deep-seated fear, his whole body turning cold, as if he were seeing the Future of Trier, and the fate of himself and the others.
This is the Nightmare he has every night:
Trier a desolate place where all humanity has been buried and all buildings have collapsed.
Trier, forever bathed in Crimson Moonlight.
