Background / History
Ghost Valley and the Hydra
Sukanan travels through an Instance with Tang Xiaoling, Qi Mai, and their companions. At Ghost Valley, illusions of her deepest desires lure her and Qi Mai toward a fatal drop. Tang Xiaoling takes their hands and pulls them back, breaking the illusion. With the group’s items exhausted, Tiantian subsequently carries them across the valley using a ring of light 281 283.
Despite her fear and limited strength, Sukanan stands in front of Tang Xiaoling when the Hydra threatens them, accepting that she might die protecting her. Tang Xiaoling refuses to leave her behind and insists that they will escape together. Tang Long ultimately destroys the Hydra, and Sukanan agrees to remain with Tang Xiaoling a little longer before the Instance ends 282 283 285.
Palace Trials and Heavenly Dao Punishment
Sukanan and Qi Mai resist the palace’s tempting treasures and warn Tang Xiaoling not to take anything. After Tang Xiaoling destroys the Empty Hall, they enter a vast maze 289.
When Zhou Fengchuan attacks Tang Xiaoling, Sukanan confronts him with a tool obtained from an earlier settlement. His stronger tool immobilizes her through an effect he calls “Silencing,” leaving the Instance King to intervene 293.
Sukanan later takes a hit intended for Tang Xiaoling and suffers severe injuries. Tang Xiaoling’s attempts to protect her initially fail, even with borrowed power from Tang Long. With the Instance King’s assistance, Tang Xiaoling eventually shifts the Heavenly Dao danger away; the king conceals what happened, and Sukanan is left with only minor injuries 297 298.
The group is subsequently swept into a more dangerous forest. Sukanan’s courage- and light-enhancing Taoist Tool proves inadequate against its creatures, but she still refuses to let Tang Xiaoling lead them into danger 300.
Zhou Fengchuan’s Attack Outside the Instance
After escaping, Sukanan agrees to take Tang Xiaoling out to play. Zhou Fengchuan locates them through the livestream and attacks. Although Sukanan’s power is temporarily restricted, she gets back up and returns to Tang Xiaoling’s side, promising to protect her 303 305.
A subordinate sent by Tang Long arrives and stops Zhou Fengchuan. Sukanan holds and comforts Tang Xiaoling during the confrontation. Afterward, they learn that they must enter another Instance in three days 306.
Abandoned Hospital and Lu Sui’s Group
Sukanan and Tang Xiaoling enter an Instance centered on an abandoned hospital, where their attempts to leave the grounds lead them through an apparent loop. Other participants gather around them for safety 309.
Sukanan realizes that the others hope to escape by relying on Tang Xiaoling’s protection while conserving their own tools. She warns Tang Xiaoling privately, then openly rebukes the adults for placing responsibility on a child 313 314.
When Lu Sui’s group refuses to help them resist the Instance King, Sukanan and Tang Xiaoling drive away the Black Qi themselves. Sukanan then establishes a protected room that prevents the others from entering. More dangerous conditions outside eventually force them to reconsider cooperation 316 318.
As the environment changes, Sukanan questions the Instance King and deduces that he is also confined by a stronger force. She presses him for information rather than accepting his threats at face value 328 329 333.
After separating from Lu Sui’s group, she blocks another sudden attack and makes prospective allies undertake a task before accepting their cooperation. She later covers Tang Xiaoling while the child uses a Taoist Tool to alter their route. Tang Xiaoling identifies the terrifying scene as an illusion, and the pair escape while other participants remain inside 334 336 338 339 340.
Training and Confrontations with Lu Sui
Outside the Instance, Lu Sui continues blaming Sukanan for their earlier disputes and attempts to attack her. The Relevant Department restrains him. The encounter convinces Sukanan that she cannot always depend on Tang Xiaoling to survive, prompting her to begin training 341.
Tang Long sends materials to support her improvement. When Lu Sui attacks again, Sukanan tests her new strength against him, fighting barehanded while he relies on Taoist Tools. She learns to exploit the openings his tools fail to conceal and repeatedly repels his attacks 342 343 344.
Sukanan rejects his subsequent excuses and leaves with Tang Xiaoling. She promises to accompany the child into the next Instance. Tang Long later thanks her personally, and she explains that her desire to protect Tang Xiaoling is sincere rather than a means of obtaining rewards 345 346.
Return to the Instances
After further training, Sukanan enters another Instance with Tang Xiaoling and initially finds them a safe place to rest. The two nevertheless encounter increasingly dangerous surroundings 348 349 352.
When someone calls her name, Sukanan refuses to answer or approach, suspecting that the voice is a trap. She and Tang Xiaoling eventually meet Xu Weishan’s team; both groups confirm that the others are real and discuss countermeasures for an Instance more dangerous than those they have previously cleared 354.
Personality
Sukanan is protective even when frightened or outmatched. She is willing to face the Hydra, take an attack for Tang Xiaoling, and confront hostile entities rather than allow them to target the child. Her courage does not eliminate her fear: early on, she openly acknowledges her limitations and worries about holding her companions back 282 283 297 310.
She is particularly suspicious of adults who exploit Tang Xiaoling’s generosity. Rather than demanding unconditional cooperation, she expects participants to contribute their own tools and accept responsibility for their survival. However, she can reconsider an alliance when shared danger makes cooperation necessary 313 314 318 336.
Sukanan is also candid about what she owes Tang Xiaoling. When Tang Long thanks her, she refuses to take credit for their survival and acknowledges that she could not have escaped without his daughter. That awareness motivates her to train and become a more capable protector 340 341 342.
