Night.
The sea.
Aboard the great ship.
Alois had been busy all day and had long since fallen asleep.
Although he possessed a Void Sage's memories, his overall attributes were only a little higher than an ordinary person's.
After the Sea Monster Battle, rescuing Shen Ye, discussing the Dao with the king, and everything else-
He had long since been utterly exhausted.
Now.
He was asleep.
But Shen Ye and Norton were still awake.
"I can't understand any of this knowledge."
Norton sighed.
"That's normal. I spent two hundred years puzzling over it myself," Shen Ye said.
"Two hundred years?" Norton brightened a little.
"Yes. I picked out some points of knowledge and compiled them into a book. I'll put it in the Nightmare World later for you to study," Shen Ye said.
"Then what do we do next? Keep extracting knowledge from that monster?" Norton asked.
"Too slow," Shen Ye said.
"Slow-wait, what are your other doppelgangers doing?" Norton caught on very quickly.
"Fighting."
"The monster?"
"Yes."
Shen Ye shook his head, his gaze piercing the void as though he were watching another war begin:
"Only now have I realized how bizarre battles across the Ten Thousand Worlds can be."
"I can't strike, or even hurt the enemy."
"The moment I hurt the enemy, I lose."
Norton clicked his tongue. "You can't hurt the enemy? How do you fight, then? How do you win?"
"Right now, he's merged another me into his body and is forcing me to dispel my Dharma Form," Shen Ye said.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" Norton asked.
"It would be difficult-this is a real mess. One misstep and it's all over. I certainly wouldn't dare let you come into contact with that monster," Shen Ye said.
"Then what do we do?"
