The power left by the Fate Projection gradually merged into his body, and Xu Le immediately sensed trouble.
With the seven energies resting in the Ice Lake, he had barely managed to maintain a balance, but as Fate Power merged into him...
That fragile balance broke immediately.
The turbulence left Xu Le unable to steady his own body, let alone control the Soul Devouring Tree.
Xu Le used his last Substitute Doll to hold himself in place, then reached out to summon the Black Staff...
But the Black Staff actually failed to appear!
"Huh?"
Xu Le froze for a moment. The Black Staff... had never let him down, not once.
"What's going on?"
Amid his astonishment, Xu Le sensed the flow of the Power of Darkness.
He suddenly realized that the Black Staff had not disappeared. Instead, it had merged into the Soul Devouring Tree when the tree absorbed the projection earlier.
The power of Night Fiend's projection was Eternal Darkness, and so was the Black Staff.
When the two identical powers touched, they naturally fused together.
"So that's it..."
Xu Le relaxed his fingers. When he spread them again, a Dark Vortex appeared between them.
From then on, he no longer needed the Black Staff to open a Dark Vortex.
This was an enormous improvement to Xu Le's ability to escape.
He could run anytime, anywhere.
Running for his life never went out of style.
"No, my body can't hold out..."
The energy inside
