The Rock-Devouring Scorpion did not even bother dodging the Three-Tailed Illusory Moon Fox's balls of light. They struck its body, raising showers of sparks without so much as slowing its pursuit.
One fled and the other pursued. Soon, the Rock-Devouring Scorpion caught up with the Three-Tailed Illusory Moon Fox. Its enormous stinger arced over its head and pierced the fox's tiny body with unerring accuracy, killing it in a single strike. In an instant, the snow-white body turned black.
With a flick of its stinger, it tossed the Three-Tailed Illusory Moon Fox's blackened body into the air, caught it in a pincer, and threw it into its mouth, devouring every last bit.
After smacking its lips a few times, still craving more, it turned and chased after Li Dalong.
Wherever the Rock-Devouring Scorpion passed, it leveled rocks and trees, carving another great trench through the mountains. It was faster even than Li Dalong in his Divine Dragon form. After pursuing them for a while, it reached the spot where Li Dalong had changed direction and quickly sensed the direction of the three through the stiff bristles on its limbs.
It changed direction as well and charged straight after them. As it drew closer and closer, Li Dalong could hear and feel the tremors of the Rock-Devouring Scorpion crashing through trees and trampling the ground behind them. Li Dalong cursed inwardly. That damned scorpion! It clings like a haunting ghost. It's already caught up!
The main problem was that the Three-Tailed Illusory Moon Fox had been far too weak. It had not lasted even a single exchange before being stabbed to death. It had merely delayed the scorpion's journey a little. That was why the Rock-Devouring Scorpion could catch up with Li Dalong and the others so quickly.
