Practicing Medicine in Zhu Zi Kingdom (Twenty-Six)
It is said that Guanyin Bodhisattva, Tathagata the Buddha's decree, went to the Tang Dynasty in the Eastern Land to Longevity Extension of Emperor Taizong of King Tang, Li Shimin.
After Li Shimin saw Tang Sanzang off to the Journey Westward through the Water and Land Dharma Assembly, twenty years had passed. In the end, his health was depleted, his old injuries flared up, and he had also experienced the pain of losing his son and the turmoil of the State Altars. He was now at the end of his life.
At this time, Guanyin Bodhisattva descended, mercifully rescuing the emperor from his predicament and extending his lifespan. Her good name spread China, and everyone believed in her.
Guanyin Bodhisattva's own fortune was at its peak, and she sensed that this was the opportunity for her to Attainment of the Dao.
In her early years, she preached in the Western Heaven, compassionately saving people, but failed to Attainment of the Dao.
Now that Buddhism's Eastward Rise the East, she has finally glimpsed the Great Dao and realized that the Eastern Lands is the place where she can attain Attainment of the Dao. She also owes a great debt to her disciple for securing this opportunity for her.
Guanyin Bodhisattva then calculated with her fingers and deduced that Tang Sanzang and his disciples were about to reach the Zhu Zi Kingdom. The calamity was somewhat obscure and difficult to understand, but she could tell that the Golden-Haired Beast in mortal danger.
Guanyin Bodhisattva did not rush back, but chose to preach and spread the Dharma in the Great Tang Dynasty first.
At this time, Tang Sanzang had not yet Journey to the West pilgrimage. Although Buddhism was still circulating in the Tang Dynasty, it had not yet flourished. Guanyin Bodhisattva was spreading the Dharma at this time, and no one could compete with her. Once she had established the Dharma Lineage, when Buddhism's Eastward Rise in the East, apart from Buddha Shakyamuni, she would naturally be revered.
It is fitting that she, as Bodhisattva, attained the Buddha's path, which is true Transcendence and great freedom.
Guanyin Bodhisattva then spent a great deal of time spreading the Dharma Lineage in the Great Tang Dynasty. Afterwards, she returned with the Mucha and happened to meet Wukong. Knowing that Wukong had come for the matter of the Golden-Haired Beast, she asked him with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Wukong exclaimed with delight, "The Bodhisattva already knew?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva laughed and said, "That Golden-Haired Beast was my Mount. Because the shepherd boy failed in his duty, this wicked animal bit through its iron chain and Lower Realm to avert disaster for the King of Zhu Zi Kingdom!"
Upon hearing this, Wukong mistakenly thought that the Golden-Haired Beast Guanyin Bodhisattva mentioned was that old demon, and couldn't help but sigh, "Bodhisattva truly lives up to her Bodhisattva; even one of her Mount possesses such great Supernatural Ability. She has really given me, Old Sun, a hard time!"
Guanyin Bodhisattva laughed and said, "That monster is quite extraordinary, and he took away my treasures. Even ten Wukong would find it difficult to subdue him."
Wukong sighed, "Bodhisattva has said too little! I dare not say more. That wicked beast is extremely ferocious, committing all sorts of heinous acts, and even wants to eat my master! I originally wanted to go Tathagata Bodhisattva to lodge a complaint, but I was afraid that if I delayed too long, my master would be cooked and eaten by that Demon. Now that I am Bodhisattva Mount, please come with me to subdue him!"
Guanyin Bodhisattva laughed and said, "Wukong, don't worry, that wicked beast wouldn't dare to eat your master. I'll go with you to bring him back."
As they spoke, the two rode on Auspicious Clouds and arrived at Qilin Mountain in the Zhu Zi Kingdom.
Wukong said, "Bodhisattva has gone the wrong way; the Demon Cave is ahead."
Guanyin Bodhisattva was puzzled upon hearing this. She tried to calculate with her fingers but could not find the answer, so she had no choice but to follow Wukong forward.
Before long, they arrived at the Mist-and-Cloud Cave on Qiyun Mountain. Wukong led the Bodhisattva down on Auspicious Clouds, but they still couldn't find the cave entrance. They said:
"Bodhisattva, I don't know what kind of Supernatural Ability that monster used, Old Sun, originally escaped from here, and now I can't find my way back."
Upon hearing this, Guanyin Bodhisattva extended her hand forward, sensing the power of Great Luo Methods, and was startled.
She was also at the threshold of Attainment of the Dao, someone who could cross it at any time, and thus could see the profound mystery of this magic.
At this moment, the Cave Gate opened, and a group of Little Demon emerged, led by Sai Taisui. Upon seeing Wukong, he shouted:
"Sun Wukong, you're quite the expert at breaking locks and shackles, yet you've managed to escape again. Today, I'm going to capture you!"
Guanyin Bodhisattva was about to speak when Wukong said:
"Bodhisattva, this is just a Little Demon under that old demon's command. No need for you to intervene; watch Old Sun, kill him with my staff and claim the greatest merit!" Upon hearing Wukong's words, Sai Taisui noticed Guanyin Bodhisattva beside him and immediately knelt down, saying, "Bodhisattva!"
Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "You wicked beast, why aren't you back!"
Upon hearing this, Sai Taisui rolled three times on the ground, revealing his Original Form Golden-Haired Beast, with Rosy Radiance above his head and his body covered in golden threads.
Wukong paused for a moment, then asked, "Is the Mount the Bodhisattva spoke of his?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva said, "Of course. By the way, Wukong, what was that old demon you just mentioned?"
Upon hearing this, Wukong felt a cold sweat break out on his fur and hurriedly said, "Oh no! Bodhisattva, let's go!"
Having said that, he Somersault Cloud and flew away.
Suddenly, a giant mouth appeared, opened its mouth and sucked in, causing the sun, moon and Stars to shake. Wukong traveled 108,000 li, but in the blink of an eye, he was sucked back, along with Guanyin Bodhisattva, and swallowed up as well.
Ao Tu patted his belly, mounted the Golden-Haired Beast, and said, "Let's go back."
The Golden-Haired Beast didn't dare to speak and obediently carried Ao Tu back home.
Wukong lay in Ao Tu's stomach in despair, saying, "It's all over now. Even the Bodhisattva is going down with Old Sun."
Guanyin Bodhisattva did not say much, but placed her hand on Ao Tu's stomach and examined it carefully.
A complete set of Primordial Laws was revealed.
Guanyin Bodhisattva was extremely shocked. She had carefully examined Ao Tu's body before, and now this complete Primordial Laws was ninety percent similar to the one on Ao Tu's body.
Her disciple successfully Reverse Primordial Divine Saint!
But that path was clearly impossible to succeed on!
If her apprentice really succeeds, wouldn't she have to acknowledge him as her elder?
She thought her path ahead was clear and Attainment of the Dao she had a good chance of attaining enlightenment. She was about to mentor her disciple when, unexpectedly, he had already far surpassed her.
Guanyin Bodhisattva's mind was immediately in turmoil.
Wukong asked, "Bodhisattva, is there a way to get out? Do you have any cloth with you?"
Guanyin Bodhisattva asked in confusion, "What do you need the cloth for? Tell me in detail about that Demon first."
After listening, Wukong recounted in detail to Guanyin Bodhisattva his entanglement with the King after arriving in the Zhu Zi Kingdom, and his subsequent encounters with Demon. He then added:
"The Demon said that the King of Zhu Zi Kingdom had offended Buddhist Sect, which was why he suffered this calamity. Old Sun then thought of going to find the Bodhisattva, but unexpectedly he dragged the Bodhisattva into trouble instead."
Guanyin Bodhisattva listened and said, "What the Demon said is not wrong. This matter is due to the unrighteousness of the King of Zhu Zi Kingdom. In his youth, he was fond of hunting and shot two children of the Mahamayuri Bodhisattva, which is why this trouble has arisen."
Upon hearing this, Wukong exclaimed with delight, "So, could this be an arrangement made by the Mahamayuri Bodhisattva?"
Upon hearing this, Guanyin Bodhisattva shook her head inwardly. She guessed that this matter was most likely the work of her disciple. Firstly, it was her style of doing things, and secondly, the Mahamayuri Bodhisattva rarely did such trivial matters personally.
Wukong, however, was an impatient fellow. Upon hearing that it was related to the Mahamayuri Bodhisattva, he immediately exclaimed:
"Mahamayuri Bodhisattva! Mahamayuri Bodhisattva! Have you transformed and been playing tricks on Old Sun? Release me at once, or I'll go to your son! I'll go to the Buddha and complain about you! Release me Tathagata once!"
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu couldn't help but laugh and said, "Where do you think you're going to sue me?"
Seeing the old Demon laugh, Wukong became even more convinced that what he said was true, and said, "I'll go complain Tathagata the Great Monk! I'll go complain to your son!" Ao Tu couldn't help but laugh and vomited the two of them out.
