Taking Disciples in Jade Flower Prefecture (II)
Meanwhile, Ao Tu arrived at the Blood Sea.
The demons greeted them, and the Asura prostrated themselves in worship.
Minghe emerged, draped in a bright red taotie robe. Upon seeing Ao Tu, he deliberately asked, "Where did this stranger come from, visiting my Cult Leader's home?"
Ao Tu ignored him and walked inside, saying, "Minghe, come quickly for a meeting!"
Upon hearing this, Minghe straightened his expression and summoned all the Asura King, Demon King from various places, and ghost kings to a meeting.
Ao Tu turned around and asked, "What are you calling these people for?"
Minghe, "Didn't you say you wanted to hold a meeting?"
Ao Tu said, "I will instruct you on the matter, and then we will discuss it."
Upon hearing this, Minghe couldn't help but scoff and complain, "You seem to be having a very comfortable time as the Cult Leader."
Ao Tu said, "You old man, you've only been the Vice Sect Leader for two days, how have you become like this? Where is your former spirit and vigor? Quickly find back the ruthlessness and decisiveness you had when you killed me, so you can work for me."
Minghe, "I should have given the Blood Sea to you back then. I could have found a place beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens to retire. It would have been better than being this busy Vice Sect Leader, and then having to deal with a Cult Leader like you only makes me regret it more."
Ao Tu smiled, walked to the throne inside the hall, and sat down. He then asked, "Where did you kill the Taotie?"
Minghe sat upright to the side and said, "When your followers went to preach in Northern Utarakuru, they encountered strange beings. They prayed and came to me, and I rescued them."
Ao Tu asked in confusion, "Why would someone travel thousands of miles to Northern Utarakuru to preach?"
Minghe, "If it weren't for your orders not to enter India for the time being, and your teachings to guide people from Good and Evil, and your repeated miracles, which have led to a growing number of followers, we would have no choice but to find another place to spread our teachings."
Ao Tu said, "I have returned this time to instruct you that you may now Preaching in India."
Minghe was delighted upon hearing this and said, "In that case, do you have any doctrines to teach me so that I can debate with the Buddhist Sect?"
Ao Tu said, "There is no particular doctrine."
Minghe, "Buddhist Sect originated in India and has deep roots. There are many Buddhist Temple, but without excellent doctrines, how can we spread our teachings?"
Ao Tu said, "Don't worry about this. I have already inquired about the Fire-Seed Proselytization Method in the Future."
Minghe, "What is the Fire-Seed Proselytization Method?"
Ao Tu adjusted his sleeve.
Minghe assumed the Cult Leader wanted to teach him some books, so he respectfully reached out to take them.
As a result, Ao Tu took out two Little Spider Demon from his sleeve, held them in his palm, and they transformed into two lovely women. He instructed one of the women to make tea and the other to massage his shoulders and legs to serve him.
Minghe, "Cult Leader! Cult Leader!"
Ao Tu said, "What are you shouting about?"
Minghe, "With important matters at hand, how can the leader of a religion, with billions of believers, indulge in lust?"
Ao Tu said, "What's the rush? Just give the orders and do it. As the Vice Sect Leader, you only need to manage the affairs of the sect. You have no idea how hard I work."
Upon hearing this, Minghe, despite having a thousand thoughts swirling within him because of the difference of just one word, "deputy," could not refute it.
Ao Tu said, "This Fire-Seed Proselytization Method is actually quite easy."
Minghe saw Ao Tu getting down to business, he listened respectfully.
Ao Tu said, "The so-called 'spreading the fire' involves first persuading the local kings and nobles to facilitate the spread of the religion, and then persuading the local temples and monasteries to relocate. That's all."
Minghe, "It's easy to talk to royalty and nobles, but those temples and monasteries have been there for hundreds or thousands of years, with many monks. How could they be willing to move so easily?"
Ao Tu said, "Teach a few loyal followers to pile firewood and embers outside the temple at night. If they accidentally start a fire and burn down the Buddhist Temple, the monks will voluntarily relocate."
Minghe thought for a moment and said, "The Two Sages of the Western Heaven will certainly not agree easily."
Ao Tu said, "I've heard that the Sage Jieyin intends to reside in the Eastern Lands, but the Sage Zhunti doesn't know yet. You don't need to worry about these things. With me here, you just need to preach."
Upon hearing this, Minghe thought to himself that this person still seemed like a Cult Leader, so he agreed and then asked, "Cult Leader, if anyone asks about the name of my cult, will you have a name to answer?"
Ao Tu asked, "What are they called now?"
Minghe, "The names vary. In the Dharma-Extinguishing Kingdom, it's mostly called the ' Dharma-Extinguishing Sect,' while in other countries it's named after places; some are named after sages who died during missionary work; and others are named after our religious practices, such as the ' Bright Light Sect,' ' True Lord Sect,' and ' Torch Sect.'"
Ao Tu said, "The first two are quite ordinary, but why is there one called ' Torch Sect '? Why is that? Could it be that someone has misinterpreted the doctrine?"
Minghe, "Our sect was newly established, and its doctrines were shallow, far inferior to those of Buddhism and Daoism and Daoism, hence there are no misinterpretations. The reason some call it the ' Torch Sect ' is because our sect was newly established, and its doctrines were not yet perfect. Many of our members could not win debates with other sects, so they took torches and burned the scriptures of other sects to win, hence the name."
Ao Tu nodded.
The little spider brought over some tea.
Ao Tu picked up the drink and then said:
"The ultimate of the Dao, the ultimate of Heaven, the ultimate of Earth, the ultimate of Man, the ultimate of all things, and the ultimate of the Sage, is called Great. Therefore, our teaching should be called the Great Sect."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Great Dao rejoiced, responded to Ao Tu, and bestowed upon him good fortune.
From then on, Buddhism declined in the Western Heaven, while Great Sect began in the Western Heaven.
At the same time, Ao Tu's Good Corpse Jingshi also sensed this and founded a sect in the past called the Great Sect.
At this time, Western Heaven Sect had not yet been established.
The Jingshi Sect brought all the Human Race from the Northwestern Two Lands into its religion, established city-states and kingdoms, passed on Human Race skills, and taught them propriety, righteousness, integrity, and a sense of shame.
The Great Dao rejoices.
The Six Sages were pleased.
The Daoist Zhunti, "Now that our nation has been established and the Western Heaven has flourished, this is the time for the birth of our Western Heaven Sect, the foundation for our sainthood. Jingshi's contributions are immense, and he should be appointed as the Vice Sect Leader!"
The Taoist Jieyin, "These are excellent words. Brother Daoist, please go and spread your teachings."
Thus, the Daoist Zhunti was reincarnated as a prince of the Western Wonderful and Adorned Kingdom, became a monk, founded the Western Religion, and attained sainthood.
Ao Tu Good Corpse the Jingshi, created the land, established the Human Race, built nations, and founded Great Sect. He taught the barbarians of the Western Heaven to read and write, and brought great prosperity to the barren land. His actions laid the foundation for the Two Sages of the Western Heaven to become saints.
The Great Dao dictates that rise and fall alternate.
In the past, the rise of the Western Heaven Sect was an inevitable trend.
Its current decline is an inevitable trend.
The Great Thunderclap Temple on Spirit Mountain on the Western Heaven Sacred Mountain.
The old Bhikshu Monk was sweeping dust in front of the Mountain Gate as usual.
Suddenly, in that place neither up nor down, neither left nor right, neither forward nor backward, neither north nor south, nor east nor west, a Taoist walked out and laughed, "Brother Jieyin, I have finally become a saint!"
The Taoist, with his hair tied in two buns, was quite elegant. A poem testifies to this:
He often expounded the Dao by the Eight Virtues Pond, and preached the Three Vehicles beneath the Seven Treasures Forest.
Sarira is always hanging on his head, and he can write scriptures without words in his palm.
Refine yourself to the Western Heaven Paradise, cultivate immortality and transcend worldly dust.
The Lotus Flower takes on infinite wonders, and the great immortal leader of the Western Heaven arrives.
The old Bhikshu Monk raised his head and, seeing that Zhunti had finally Attainment of the Dao, exclaimed "Good!" three times.
"Now that my fellow Daoist has returned, I can proceed with peace talks."
The Sage Zhunti Human Way, "Brother Dao, why are you in such a hurry?"
The Sage Jieyin Human Way, "The Belongings has already been divided. I will go to the Eastern Lands, and you will stay in the Western Heaven. Is there anything else to say?"
The Sage Zhunti Human Way, "If you, my fellow Daoist, stay, we may well survive this Kalpa and become the foremost Great Sect."
The Sage who Jieyin Human Way, "It's easy for you and me, but it's difficult to preserve our followers. When the Heaven and Earth reopens and a new world begins, what's the point of you going back to preach while I'm still sweeping the floor here?"
Upon Zhunti, the Sage Zhunti sighed and said, "Very well, just give me the Green Lotus Treasure-Color Banner. I'll use it as a tool to compete and gain more benefits."
The Sage of Jieyin Human Way, "Brother Zhunti, you don't know this. When you were in the past, I had many disputes with him to protect my followers. I was afraid he wouldn't let me leave, so I need to keep this flag for convenience. He doesn't have that Plain-Colored Cloud-Realm Banner yet. When the time comes to transfer the sect in a few days, I'll have someone help you borrow that flag."
Sage Zhunti nodded and said, "Very well. It's just that he was too fond of pleasure and established his teachings very late. It took me so long to attain sainthood and return. I'm sorry for the trouble you've gone through, fellow Daoist."
The Sage Jieyin laughed and said, "It's nothing! It's nothing!"
Just then, a young Śrāmaṇera came out and called out, "Who's making a scene outside?"
The old Bhikshu Monk, "He is a fellow villager of mine who wants to come up the mountain to find work."
The young Śrāmaṇera said, "Old monk, what a coincidence! There's a good job available right now, unknown to others, but known only to me."
The old Bhikshu Monk, "What kind of job is this?"
The young Śrāmaṇera stretched out his hand and said with a smile:
"Old monk, you've been on Spirit Mountain for so long, surely you understand this little bit of Buddhist Dharma?"
Upon hearing this, the old Bhikshu Monk chuckled and said, "This old monk is poor, but my fellow monk here is rich!"
Upon Zhunti, the Sage Zhunti reached behind his robes and pulled out a silver fish, saying, "This is an insect from temples and monasteries that feeds on clay statues with Golden Body. I've heard its meat is extremely delicious and fetches a good price!"
The young Śrāmaṇera happily accepted it and asked, "Have you eaten before?"
The Sage Zhunti Human Way, "I dare not break the precept."
The young Śrāmaṇera, upon hearing this, teased Zhunti a few times, then wrapped the silver fish up and tucked it into his clothes, saying:
"Monk, you're in luck! Come with me. The newly arrived Venerable Alu is recruiting a few monks to organize the Scripture. This is a very good job in the Treasure Pavilion Treasure Pavilion! Putting aside everything else, just the fact that you'll be able to wear thick-soled monk shoes every day, covered in silver flakes, gold dust, and pearl Pearl, will be enough for you to enjoy endlessly! Can you read?"
The Sage Zhunti Human Way, "I know a few characters."
The young Śrāmaṇera said, "I dare not lie. I will take you there. The Venerable will surely test you. If you cannot read, I have a way to deal with those who cannot read."
The Human Way Zhunti, "Is there any way to live without being literate? How can one organize Scripture if one is illiterate?"
The young Śrāmaṇera said, "The Venerable won't do it himself. If you can't read, I've arranged for someone to lay out the Scripture beforehand, one thin row and one thick row. You just need to memorize the titles from right to left, and the Venerable can recite them in order when he tests you."
Upon hearing Zhunti, the Sage thought it was excellent and laughed:
"He truly possesses the potential for wisdom! He truly possesses the potential for wisdom!"
The young Śrāmaṇera asked, "So, can you read or not?"
The Sage Zhunti laughed and said, "I know a little! I know a little! I dare not call myself a scholar, but I can manage to organize some scriptures!"
The young Śrāmaṇera was relieved upon hearing this. He led the Sage Zhunti to the Treasure Pavilion, offered some favors, and asked the monastic guard to inform the Venerable Sangharama. Upon seeing the Venerable Alu, he said, "Venerable, we have come to examine the scriptures."
Alu said, "How strange! I haven't even posted the recruitment notice yet, how come people are already coming?"
The young Śrāmaṇera said, "Venerable, you may not know this, but this is a scholar from the Tianzhu Kingdom at the foot of the mountain. He dreamt of the Buddha and came up the mountain to pay his respects. I found him to be very learned, just the Venerable of person you need, so I brought him here!"
Upon hearing this, Alu carefully examined the Sage Zhunti.
Alu, lacking any Supernatural Ability, couldn't discern that this was Sage before him. He only sensed that the man possessed a refined and extraordinary appearance, and thus said, "Let me consider him!"
The young Śrāmaṇera gave Zhunti a wink and then left.
Alu led Zhunti into the Treasure Pavilion, pushed open the door, and inside was the Scripture Pavilion.
Alu pointed to the two rows of scriptures placed randomly in front and instructed Zhunti to recite them in turn.
The Sage Zhunti was literate and recited everything without error.
Alu was delighted and asked, "Can you understand the meaning of the scriptures?"
The Sage Zhunti Human Way, "I have a slight understanding."
Alu then casually picked up a copy of the "Collection of Explanations of the Sutra of the Buddha Mother of Perfect Understanding of Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism" to test Zhunti.
The Sage Zhunti answered fluently, offering his own unique insights.
Alu exclaimed with delight, "No wonder you're a scholar! You even know the Scripture!"
So they Zhunti to be a monk who performed the entire sutra, and then asked if he had Dharma Name.
Zhunti noticed the Kasaya Alu was wearing and knew he was a disciple of Jingshi. If he were given Dharma Name, wouldn't he become a grand-disciple of Jingshi?
For Sage, seniority is irrelevant.
He was different from the Jieyin.
Jieyin abandoned his Western Heaven roots and wanted to migrate to the Eastern Lands.
But he wanted to stay and fight for it.
If this gives others cause for criticism, it will inevitably damage one's prestige.
After thinking for a moment, he said, "The Dharma Name Dharani."
Seeing that he already had Dharma Name, Alu did not want to bestow another one upon him. So he took the Sage Zhunti and received the monk's Monk's Robes and Magic Artifact, arranged the monks' quarters, showed them the Dining Hall and other places, and explained many rules and regulations.
In addition to the Precepts of Spirit Mountain, there are also the rules of the Treasure Pavilion.
The Treasure Pavilion was filled with Rare Treasures.
The Scripture are also treasures, and therefore are also in the Treasure Pavilion.
Meanwhile, temples and Kingdom of Wang at the foot of the mountain constantly sent all sorts of Rare Treasures.
There are naturally special rules for guarding such a large number of treasures.
What Alu taught was the bookkeeping and arithmetic method of the Treasure Pavilion.
Back on the other side, amidst Blood Sea.
After Ao Tu revealed the name of the sect, the Great Dao celebrated.
Ao Tu laughed and said, "How about this name?"
Minghe, "This is bad."
Ao Tu asked, "What's wrong?"
Minghe, "It sounds like he just said it offhand. I think the Cult Leader has been indulging in beauty and pleasure somewhere these days, completely neglecting the affairs of the sect. He probably just came up with this name on the spur of the moment before he was about to return."
Ao Tu was furious upon hearing this and said, "Minghe! How dare you slander me out of thin air! This is the result of Cult Leader careful consideration and deliberation! You are a person who has been hiding in a sea of the Blood Sea and has never seen the light of day. What do you know?"
Upon hearing this, Minghe chuckled but did not reply.
Ao Tu said, "Go! Go! Go preach!"
Minghe then rose to take his leave.
Ao Tu asked the Little Spider Demon beside him, "What do you think of the name I've chosen?"
The Little Spider Demon said, "Very good!"
Ao Tu then asked his Sixth Sister, who was massaging his legs, "How are you feeling?" He pulled her up, took her fair arm, and asked.
Sixth Sister said, "The name chosen by the Great King is naturally excellent!"
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu smiled and nodded.
At this moment, the Minghe, which had just gone out, turned back.
The Sixth Sister Spider Demon demon was mischievous and loved to tease the Little Spider Demon, but she was also very shy. When Ao Tu held her arm, she became very timid. When she saw that the Patriarch Styx had returned, she lowered her head deeply and dared not look up.
Ao Tu asked, "Why are you back again?"
Minghe, "There is one more thing."
Ao Tu asked, "What is it?"
Minghe, "Will Miaoshan's Taoist temple also be burned down?"
Ao Tu said, "This is Dao Contention; personal relationships are irrelevant. All should be burned without exception! I'll go and talk to my Teacher about it."
Upon hearing this, Minghe thought to himself that this was indeed the demeanor of a Cult Leader, never hesitating in the face of major events; his defeat was not unjust.
They then withdrew.
Ao Tu laughed and said, "Alright, get up!"
Sixth Sister was about to get up.
Minghe paced back and forth outside the hall, and said:
"There's one more thing!"
Ao Tu asked, "Is there anything else?"
Minghe, "Cult Leader, how can we listen to the words of favored concubines and mistresses when it comes to important matters of the sect? What these women say must not be true!"
Upon hearing this, Ao Tu cast a spell to prevent the Minghe's voice from reaching him.
Minghe spoke a few more words of reasoning outside, but seeing that his voice couldn't carry, he shook his head helplessly and said:
"The Cult Leader is lustful and foolish! utterly foolish!"
