Viewing the Lanterns in Jinping Prefecture (IV)
However, Wukong's single blow with his staff startled Yaoguai on the mountain.
The Little Ox Spirits was so frightened that he hurriedly went back to report.
The three old demons in the cave were also terrified, exclaiming, "Why did the mountain move?"
The Little Ox Spirits ran back and reported, "Your Great King! Something terrible has happened! I met a monk outside, with a pointed mouth and thin cheeks, who claimed to be Tang Sanzang's eldest disciple. He was the one who shook the mountain with an Iron Staff, saying that if we didn't release his master, he would destroy our cave!"
Upon hearing this, the three old demons were all alarmed.
Great King Bihan said, "Tang Sanzang! Could the monk we just captured be Tang Sanzang?"
The Great King Bishu said, "I forgot to ask about that monk's origins. Judging from his appearance, he doesn't look like the Tang Sanzang we live in. Could he really be Tang Sanzang on his Journey to the West? And isn't that Sun Wukong who Sun Wukong in the Havoc in Heaven Five Hundred Years Ago?"
Great King Bichen said, "Who cares who he is? Let's go out and see first!"
The three old demons then donned their armor, took up their weapons, and led their Little Demons out of the cave.
When Wukong saw the Demon outside, he stared intently and saw through their true Original Form. They were all Mountain Cattle demons, Water Buffalo Spirits, and Yellow Ox Spirits, with three Rhinoceros Monsters leading them.
Upon seeing those three old monsters, they were all:
Its face is adorned with colorful eyes, and its two horns are prominent. It has four pointed ears, and its eyes sparkle with intelligence. Its body is covered in colorful patterns, and its entire body is embroidered like a flying flower.
The first one, with a warm fox fur hat on his head and a face full of bristling fur, exudes heat; the second one, draped in a light gauze that blazes like fire, has four hooves that shimmer like jade; the third one, with a roar that shakes like thunder, has fangs as sharp as silver needles.
These three old monsters all have names, and they raise three banners: Bi Han (Bihan), Bi Shu (Bishu), and Bichen).
Great King Bihan wields an Axe and Yue, Great King Bishu carries a large knife, Great King Bichen carries a Geda Vine.
Wukong carefully examined the three people. Although he couldn't see any treasures on them, he didn't dare to relax.
The three old monsters burst into laughter upon seeing Wukong.
Great King Bichen roared, "So you're the Sun Wukong who wreaked Heavenly Palace? You're just a skinny little Monkey!"
Wukong cursed, "Grandson! Today you'll recognize me!"
Without saying much, he raised his stick and struck.
The three old demons charged forward together, and in an instant, a fierce battle ensued.
The clanging of knives and axes, the cracking of clubs.
The stick, when raised, terrifies even gods and ghosts; the axe and knife, when brought forth, cause chaos and flying debris.
The three old demons charged forward, displaying their ferocity.
This Great Sage is all talk and no action.
In the blink of an eye, the four Central Dipper two hundred rounds in the mountains, with neither side gaining the upper hand.
The three old demons exerted all their strength, spewing out colorful mist wildly, but they were exhausted and unable to win.
Wukong feared that the three might be hiding treasures or setting up some kind of Formation, so he held onto the clouds, taking extra precautions and not using his full strength.
They fought for another hundred rounds, and Wukong showed no signs of weakening.
Seeing how powerful the mischievous monkey was, the three old demons realized they couldn't defeat him on their own, so they gave a shout, and a group of Little Ox Spirits surrounded him.
Seeing the Little Demon rushing towards him in a chaotic manner, Wukong feared it was some kind of Formation and, not wanting to linger in battle, turned and left.
Three old demons led their followers in pursuit.
Upon seeing this, Wukong took out a Alms Bowl from his robes as he walked, chanted Spell, turned around and threw it, instantly Bihan and Bishu, who were ahead of him, inside.
Great King Bichen, who had narrowly escaped the calamity by falling behind, was extremely anxious upon seeing the situation. He quickly caught up and led a Little Demons to meet Wukong in battle.
Wukong thought that when the three Demon fought him before, they still couldn't defeat him. Now that only one of them was left, he still dared to fight him. He must have some special skills. So he didn't dare to linger in the fight. He raised his staff, knocked down a few Little Demon, and Somersault Cloud away.
Great King Bichen wanted to give chase.
The Great King Bihan and the Great King Bishu, inside the alms Alms Bowl, cried out, "Third Younger Brother, come quickly to our rescue! This Alms Bowl contains the power of Yin and Yang, and the extreme temperatures are unbearable. If we are any later, we will turn into pus!"
Great King Bichen asked, "Big Brother, Second Brother, why are you both afraid of the cold and heat?"
The Great King Bihan said, "I can Bihan, but I cannot Bishu. How can I not be afraid?"
The Great King Bishu said, "I can Bishu, but not the Bihan. Quickly open the Alms Bowl and rescue me, or I'll freeze to death in here!"
Great King Bichen, hearing this, had no choice but to stop chasing Wukong and call to the Little Demon to move the Alms Bowl.
The Alms Bowl was upside down on the ground, about Three Zhang zhang in diameter, surrounded by Golden Light. Some kind of Scripture was written on it, and it was stuck to the ground perfectly, as if it were Mount Tai growing in the soil, impossible to move.
Great King Bichen shouted, "Quickly dig a Earthly Way and rescue my Big Brother and Second Brother!"
The Little Demons then went to dig, and for every bit they dug open, the Alms Bowl was filled in a little more.
Great King Bichen said, "Pry it open with a weapon!"
The Little Demons each took out their weapons, some sharp and some bladed, and tried to pry it open, but the Alms Bowl didn't budge; instead, the weapons shattered.
The Great King Bihan inside said, "Third Younger Brother, their weapons are useless and they have no strength. You try to pry them open!"
Great King Bichen said, "My weapon is a stick, without a point or blade, how can I pry it open?"
The Great King Bishu said, "Third Younger Brother, use your horn to pry open the Alms Bowl and get us out!"
Great King Bichen hesitated for a moment, then asked, "This... is this even possible?"
The Great King Bihan said, "Hurry up and pry it open! I'm dying of heat!"
Upon hearing this, Great King Bichen had no choice but to lower himself, transforming into a large rhinoceros, and brace his horn against the edge of the Alms Bowl, trying to pry it open.
What a Rhinoceros Demon! It had long, hard horns, and its four hooves pounded the ground with tremendous force, shaking even the mountains.
The Little Demon all stood around, cheering Moo Moo on.
Wukong saw it from afar, covered his Somersault Cloud and chuckled to himself, then somersaulted back, swung his Golden Cudgel, and struck Great King Bichen on the hind leg.
Poor Great King Bichen, already exhausted from fighting for so long, and focused entirely on saving Bihan and Bishu, had no time to prepare for battle.
His hind leg was broken by Wukong's staff, and in a panic, he limped away to the back of the mountain.
Upon seeing this, the Little Demon all Original Form and ran away in a panic.
Wukong realized that these Demon had no real treasures, so he stood on the cliff and transformed his Golden Cudgel into hundreds of Golden Threads, which he tied into a noose. He first captured the Great King Bichen, and then captured all the Little Ox Spirits who were running around.
Then Wukong put away the Alms Bowl, bound Great King Bihan and Great King Bishu tightly, and pinned them to the ground along with Great King Bichen, interrogating them. "Tell the truth, what are your origins? Why did you capture my master?"
The three old demons confessed, "Great Sage, we are rhinoceros spirits who have cultivated in the mountains for a long time. We can fly through the clouds and spit out mist, and we are skilled at opening waterways. We live in the Xuanying Cave on Azure Dragon Mountain and often go down the mountain to earn some Incense Oil for our own enjoyment. Because we did not recognize Great Sage Master, we thought it was free food and took it by mistake. We beg Great Sage, please spare our lives!"
Wukong sneered, "How could I not know you are rhinoceros spirits? I'm asking which Buddha you are, your Mount, or which Bodhisattva you are disciples of?"
The three old demons looked at each other blankly and said:
"Great Sage, we are neither the Buddha's Mount nor the Bodhisattva's disciples!"
Wukong shouted, "You glib-tongued Demon, how dare you not tell the truth!"
Having said that, he swung his staff and broke the hind legs of all three Demon.
The three Demon wailed, "Great Sage! We would never dare to hide anything! We truly do not recognize any Buddha or Bodhisattva!"
