Arc 1The Azan Heir Awakens

Lin Ke used his system missions to assert authority, rally Azan’s guards, and bring Nix into his household. Before his father returned, he underwent Bloodline Enlightenment, secretly awakened three powerful bloodlines, and quickly became a [Scholar] under Ove’s guidance.

  • Lin Ke met Zernital in the woods, failed to solve the Riemann Hypothesis, and received a curse naming him Zernital’s heir and incarnation, set to take effect in a year.
  • Lin Ke challenged Lady Brando’s authority, secured the purchasing team’s loyalty, and declared himself King of Azan to complete the system’s quest.
  • Lin Ke drilled a thousand guards, then led them against two Giant Tigers during the convoy’s journey and recruited Nix after the Rabbitfolk offered to become his follower.
  • Lin Ke returned to the castle with Nix, cared for the wounded, and learned that he could undergo Bloodline Enlightenment before his sixth birthday.
  • Ove arrived at Azan Castle and privately awakened Lin Ke, John, and Nix, after which Lin Ke chose Knowledge, Luck, and Leadership in his soul space.
  • Ove’s tests revealed Lin Ke’s Andrew Level aptitude, and he concealed the results for all three children before Lin Ke announced their awakenings to the household.
  • Ove taught the children how to form classes, and Lin Ke used memories from his previous life to grow a branch in his soul space and become a [Scholar] within twenty-three minutes.
Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1Starting out by slaying a god with a math problem!

Lin Ke tricked Zernital, the King of the Gods, into attempting the unsolvable Riemann Hypothesis, talking him to death. Zernital cursed Lin Ke to become his heir and incarnation, and the system confirmed the mission’s success while warning that the curse would take effect in one year.

  • Lin Ke followed the system’s mission into the woods and met Zernital, who asked him to become a believer.
  • Lin Ke refused at first, then offered Zernital a way to recruit believers and promised to share its details if Zernital solved a math problem.
  • Zernital accepted Lin Ke’s offer and became linked to him as a believer, using up his last shred of power.
  • Lin Ke posed the Riemann Hypothesis, and Zernital failed to solve it before time ran out.
  • Zernital cursed Lin Ke to become his heir and incarnation, then died and turned into a ball of light.
  • The system marked Lin Ke’s mission successful and said Zernital’s curse would take effect in one year.

Ch. 2The Castle's Eldest Son

Lin Ke rushed to the first madam’s room after learning that she had punished his mother, intent on taking her back and investigating the curse and magic. He challenged the first madam and invoked the Azan Family’s authority, prompting the purchasing team’s leader to swear loyalty to Azan.

  • Lin Ke reflected on his transmigration and the magical nature of the world while preparing to bathe and waiting for his system reward.
  • Steward Billy began reporting family affairs, but a manservant interrupted to say the first madam had punished Lin Ke’s mother.
  • Lin Ke hurried to the first madam’s room, determined to find his mother and reassess his plans in light of the world’s magic and the curse.
  • The first madam said she punished Lin Ke’s mother for entering her chamber right-foot-first and dismissed Lin Ke’s claim to authority as merely the future heir.
  • Lin Ke asked the purchasing team’s leader whether he was loyal to Azan or Brando, and the man knelt and swore unwavering loyalty to the Azan Family.

Ch. 3Followers and... Bloodlines?

Six-year-old Lin Ke Azan confronted Lady Brando over his mother's disappearance, only to discover his mother was safe in the study. He collected a mysterious system reward and received a quest to proclaim himself King of Azan before awakening his bloodline, leaving him to wonder how to fulfill it.

  • Lin Ke demanded that Lady Brando reveal where his mother was, and he stood his ground when she challenged his authority as Viscount Azan's eldest son.
  • Lady Brando left the room, then privately gave copper coins to her maid for little Sophie and said adversity would help Lin Ke grow.
  • The head maid pointed Lin Ke toward the study, where he found his mother calmly reading and learned she had not been taken away.
  • Lin Ke returned to his bedroom, ordered a bath, and collected the system's awaiting reward, but he noticed no obvious effect.
  • The system assigned Lin Ke a quest to proclaim himself King of Azan before his bloodline awakened, promising a follower with exceptional potential as the reward.

Ch. 4Not one ten-thousandth of your glory, young master

After turning six, Lin Ke planned to learn about training and explore the study, but John’s mention of class-holders revealed another part of the world’s power system. Lin Ke decided to seek answers from Uncle Billy before beginning his exercise.

  • Lin Ke considered how to train after his sixth birthday and decided to ask the captain of the guards about physical training.
  • John checked that Lin Ke was unharmed, then helped him dress for exercise.
  • Lin Ke invited John to train with him and asked why he had earlier reported that Lin Ke’s mother had been taken away.
  • John mentioned that Lin Ke might become a great class-holder, prompting Lin Ke to ask what class-holders were.
  • John said that Lin Ke’s father was a very powerful class-holder but could not explain what that meant, so Lin Ke decided to find Uncle Billy.

Ch. 5The [Scholar] Pioneers

Lin Ke asked Butler Billy about class holders and learned how bloodline awakening led to choosing a class. Billy told him the legend of Andrew and the pioneers who founded the class system, beginning with [Scholar].

  • Lin Ke went to the dining room to ask Butler Billy about class holders.
  • Billy explained that Lin Ke would awaken his bloodline on his sixth birthday and choose a suitable class.
  • Lin Ke asked what class holders were, and Billy offered to tell him their origins.
  • Billy recounted how Andrew and the pioneers built the class system to overthrow the gods.
  • Billy explained that [Scholar], developed from [Mage], became the foundation for countless classes across the Nasengge Continent.

Ch. 6No more acting cute!

Lin Ke learned that Professionals had replaced magic and battle aura, and that his bloodline would be awakened when he turned six. At dinner, he tried to redirect his mother’s attention after she and the first wife fussed over his cute appearance.

  • Butler Billy told Lin Ke that a professional Awakening Teacher would awaken his bloodline on his sixth birthday and handle his later instruction.
  • Lin Ke learned that Azan’s dinner included wild boar stewed in Gula Cattle milk, though he missed the cuisine of his previous life.
  • Lin Ke’s mother arrived with the first wife and asked whether he had said something out of line to her elder mother.
  • Lin Ke acted cute to appease his mother, who pinched his cheeks and invited the first wife to do the same.
  • Lin Ke reminded his mother that she had been asking about his earlier words, and swore he would never act cute again.

Ch. 7I am... the King of Azan! (Not really)

At dinner, Lin Ke endured the first wife’s insults and the nobles’ elaborate etiquette before suddenly declaring himself the King of Azan. His mother laughed, Steward Billy praised the family’s future, and Lin Ke hurried to check the system.

  • Lin Ke’s mother confronted him about supposedly insulting the first wife, who taunted him while he pretended to cry.
  • The first wife used the dinner’s mouth-rinsing ritual to make servants spit into their handwashing basins, and Lin Ke silently resented the aristocratic etiquette.
  • After enduring the long, formal meal, Lin Ke had an idea about becoming the King of Azan.
  • Lin Ke solemnly declared, “I am... the King of Azan!” and the dining room fell silent.
  • Lin Ke’s mother laughed, Steward Billy praised the Torrent Knights’ heir, and Lin Ke checked the system.

Ch. 8Guard Training Method

Lin Ke confirmed that the system’s tasks allowed flexible interpretations, then agreed to go into town with his mother and John. That evening, he began drilling Azan Castle’s thousand guards with basic commands and running exercises.

  • Lin Ke concluded that the system’s tasks could be completed in more than one way and decided to claim his follower reward later.
  • The first wife offered two extra places on a trip into town, and Lin Ke arranged for his mother and John to go with him.
  • The first wife allowed John to join after Lin Ke appealed to her closeness with his mother.
  • Lin Ke gathered a thousand guards outside the castle and drilled them on standing at ease, standing at attention, and running in formation while chanting Azan.
  • Butler Billy praised Lin Ke’s training method, while John asked what purpose the drills served.

Ch. 9Setting off! Into the city!

Lin Ke reviewed the guards’ improved discipline, prepared for their next training stage, and left instructions for Billy to watch the castle while he went away. The next morning, Lin Ke set off with his mother and Little John on a supply trip to the city, while the system’s promised exceptional-potential follower remained unexplained.

  • Lin Ke explained how his guards had improved through a month of training, and asked Billy to ensure they had enough food for the next stage.
  • Lin Ke told Billy to record anything that happened at the castle involving his father’s first wife while he was away.
  • Lin Ke raced John, made him drink Gula Cattle milk, and wondered how he would receive the system’s promised follower.
  • Before dawn, servants and slaves loaded carts drawn by Gula Cattle for the journey.
  • After sunrise, Lin Ke, his mother, and Little John arrived outside the castle to set off for the city.

Ch. 10A Sudden New Mission

Lin Ke received a mission to repel an invading enemy using an irreplaceable light, with his first follower’s life at stake if he failed. After realizing the enemy might attack soon, he ordered the convoy to prepare and gathered Azan’s guards, leaving the threat imminent.

  • Lin Ke’s mother tried to entertain him with Catch the Fishman while the convoy traveled, but he refused until a system mission appeared.
  • The system tasked Lin Ke with repelling an invading enemy and warned that his first follower would die if he failed.
  • Lin Ke reasoned that the mission might be advance warning and noticed the convoy was passing beside a forest.
  • Lin Ke ordered the servants to board the carts, blindfold the Gula Cattle, and keep the convoy moving along the main road.
  • Lin Ke called his mother and Little John to him as more than three hundred Azan guards assembled beside his ox cart.

Ch. 11For the Glory of Azan!

Lin Ke prepared the convoy’s inexperienced guards for a possible attack by thieves or bandits, rallying them with threats, rewards, and Azan pride. After ten minutes of waiting, guards spotted something in the woods, and Lin Ke turned to see whether enemies had appeared.

  • Lin Ke warned his mother of possible enemies and convinced her to return to the ox cart while he led the guards.
  • Lin Ke drew a guard’s sword, threatened deserters, and reassured the guards that the attackers would be no match for Azan’s men.
  • Lin Ke offered fifty copper coins to guards who fought well and ordered patrols to watch the woods and prioritize everyone’s safety.
  • Lin Ke led the guards in shouting, “For the glory of Azan!” as their morale rose and his mother watched him with tearful recognition.
  • After ten minutes, guards pointed toward the weed-choked woods, and Lin Ke turned to look at what they had spotted.

Ch. 12A shadow of radiant splendor

Lin Ke welcomed the fleeing Rabbitfolk Nix as a potential follower and learned that two powerful tigers were pursuing him. He prepared the guards and servants to face the beasts, while trying to use sunlight and his commanding presence to fulfill the system’s mission.

  • A huge Rabbitfolk named Nix leaped onto the convoy’s cart and begged Lin Ke to save him, offering to become his follower.
  • Lin Ke accepted Nix’s plea for help and asked what had happened, while John arranged for the guards to resume their patrol.
  • Nix explained that two tigers with Enlightened Bloodlines had killed his companions and were tracking his scent.
  • Lin Ke ordered the guards to prepare for battle and sent John to protect his mother and take Nix inside.
  • Lin Ke climbed onto the last cart and called on the guards and servants to stand together as the guards puffed out their chests.

Ch. 13The Ferocious Deep Blue Giant Tigers

Lin Ke rallied his guards against two Deep Blue Giant Tigers, offering the chance to become Professionals to those who killed one. After the beasts’ supernatural roar threw the caravan into chaos, he killed a fleeing guard and organized the others, who wounded one tiger badly enough to drive both back into the forest.

  • Lin Ke promised the guards copper coins and a future opportunity for Bloodline Enlightenment if they killed a Giant Tiger.
  • Two Giant Tigers emerged from the forest, and one roared with supernatural force, leaving the caravan disoriented and panicked.
  • Lin Ke killed a guard who tried to flee and threatened to kill anyone else who deserted.
  • Lin Ke divided the guards into groups and directed them to surround and attack the two tigers.
  • The guards severed one tiger’s tail and wounded it with a barrage of blades, and both tigers fled toward the forest.

Ch. 14Establishing Authority

After the convoy defeated its attackers, Lin Ke used the victory to strengthen his authority and reward his guards. He welcomed Nix as a devoted follower and left the guards with a stern lesson about desertion and orders for distributing battle rewards.

  • Lin Ke declared the victory a sign of Azan's glory, and the guards and servants rallied around him as the mission succeeded.
  • Lin Ke's mother climbed onto the carriage, embraced him, and cried herself to sleep while the convoy tended to the wounded.
  • Nix swore lifelong loyalty to Lin Ke, who accepted him as a follower and told him to wait in the carriage.
  • Lin Ke ordered the dead cremated and the wounded cared for, but commanded that Rosfor's body be left for jackals because he had deserted.
  • Lin Ke explained that desertion would have doomed the convoy and silenced the guards' doubts about Rosfor's death.
  • Lin Ke awarded ten gold coins to Squad One and six each to Squads Two and Three, citing Squad One's success in wounding the giant tiger.

Ch. 15Nix's Origins

After surviving the tiger attack, Lin Ke reflected on his guards’ weaknesses and learned that Nix came from Rabbitfolk tribes south of the Great Swamp, where a powerful Professional had destroyed his tribe. Lin Ke took Nix under his protection and ordered the party to return to the castle quickly, while a blood-soaked black bead absorbed Rosfor’s blood.

  • Lin Ke ordered the guards to throw out Rosfor’s body, and a hidden black bead beneath it began absorbing his blood.
  • Back in the carriage, Lin Ke considered the guards’ inadequate weapons and poor combat strength before asking Nix about his past.
  • Nix explained that more than fifty tribes of Rabbitfolk and other peoples lived south of the Great Swamp, and that an unknown Professional had killed nearly all the Rabbitfolk in his tribe.
  • Nix said the attacker had defeated even his tribe’s level-five [Agile Walker], so Lin Ke ordered John to prepare for an immediate return to the castle.
  • Lin Ke invited Nix to stay with him and asked about Bloodline Enlightenment; Nix said he had not undergone it and revealed that he was only about four months old.

Ch. 16Modern Medicine

After returning to Azan Castle, Lin Ke took Nix to visit the wounded guards and found their dormitory unsanitary and dangerous for recovery. He offered to teach Nix medicine, and Nix agreed, leaving Lin Ke intent on bringing modern medical practices to the castle.

  • The supply caravan left quickly, and Lin Ke arranged for the wounded guards to receive their promised compensation while asking Billy to look after his frightened mother.
  • Lin Ke praised Nix for enduring the first wife's insults and explained that human society required more restraint than tribal life.
  • Lin Ke and Nix visited the wounded guards' crowded, damp dormitory, where Lin Ke noted that poor ventilation and mold could cause illness and infected wounds.
  • Lin Ke offered to teach Nix how to treat people, and Nix accepted while grieving that his mother had died when their tribe's only [Witch Doctor] was away.
  • Lin Ke led Nix out and planned to build a basic shelter for the wounded the next day.

Ch. 17Preparing to Awaken Their Bloodlines!

Lin Ke realized he could use his knowledge from his previous life to improve medicine and develop his territory, then decided to begin awakening bloodlines. He arranged for Nix to join him and John in the awakening, which was scheduled for the next day.

  • Lin Ke taught Nix how to clean and bandage wounds, explaining infection and disinfection.
  • Nix asked why they did not make medical tools and alcohol themselves, prompting Lin Ke to remember the practical knowledge he could use to develop his territory.
  • Lin Ke sent Nix to continue bandaging the guards and summoned Steward Billy to his room.
  • Lin Ke asked whether he could awaken his bloodline before his sixth birthday, and Billy explained that it could be done any time after he turned five.
  • Lin Ke learned that a level-eleven [Enlightenment Teacher] was on his way and ordered another thousand gold coins set aside so Nix could awaken his bloodline too.

Ch. 18The teacher finally arrived

Lin Ke gained his mother’s approval to undergo Enlightenment before his father returned, and waited impatiently for the teacher. When the teacher finally arrived by flying to the castle, Lin Ke prepared to welcome him with John and Nix.

  • Lin Ke told his mother and the first wife that he had decided to undergo Enlightenment before his father returned, and his mother supported him.
  • Lin Ke teased Nix about his age, and Nix explained that his people could undergo Enlightenment at two months but his tribe lacked money.
  • After two days of waiting, Lin Ke spotted a figure flying toward the castle and alerted the guards, who readied the crossbows.
  • The visitor landed outside the castle and walked toward it, so Lin Ke hurried downstairs, believing he was the Enlightenment Teacher.
  • John told Lin Ke that Steward Billy had sent him to find Lin Ke because the teacher had arrived, and Lin Ke asked John to fetch Nix so they could welcome him together.

Ch. 19A quest about social anxiety...

Ove arrived at Azan Castle but hurried past Lin Ke’s welcoming ceremony to wait in Garros’s study. Lin Ke discovered a quest requiring him to become Ove’s true disciple and keep him at the castle for five months, then prepared to meet him carefully.

  • Lin Ke and the household prepared to welcome Ove, but Ove sped straight into the castle and said he would wait in Garros’s study.
  • Billy suggested that Lin Ke go upstairs to see Ove, and Lin Ke set off with John and Nix.
  • Lin Ke saw a quest to become Ove’s true disciple and keep him at Azan Castle for at least five months in exchange for a Lost Artifact Fragment.
  • John offered to help Lin Ke play a trick on Ove, but Lin Ke told John and Nix to stay quiet and still so they would not frighten him.
  • Lin Ke reached Garros’s study, told John and Nix to act like statues, and knocked on the door.

Ch. 20[Truth Researcher] Ove

Lin Ke and the others met Ove, a level nineteen [Truth Researcher], who tested them and confirmed all three were ready for Bloodline Enlightenment. Ove explained how bloodlines, classes, and inherited skills worked, then began to describe what they should keep in mind during the Enlightenment.

  • Lin Ke entered Ove’s study with John and Nix and heard Ove nervously muttering about using World-Destroying Thunder.
  • Ove introduced himself as a level nineteen [Truth Researcher] with a level eleven [Enlightenment Teacher] secondary class and created a soundproof, protective space.
  • Ove scanned Lin Ke, John, and Nix with purple electricity and confirmed that each was ready for Bloodline Enlightenment.
  • Ove used [Concentration] to focus the three children’s attention and explained how bloodlines could support classes and pass down skills and traits.
  • Ove began explaining what Lin Ke, John, and Nix should keep in mind during their Enlightenment.

Ch. 21Power and Luck

Ove explained how Enlightenment awakened a Bloodline and began the process for Lin Ke, Nix, and John in private. Inside his soul space, Lin Ke discovered six ancient Bloodlines waiting for him to choose, including Power and Luck.

  • Ove explained that people could choose or be chosen by a Bloodline in their soul space, and described the Bloodline grades.
  • Lin Ke asked Ove to keep the Enlightenment private and hide their Bloodline results from others, and Ove agreed.
  • Ove touched Lin Ke, Nix, and John with his staff, then used his mental power to open their soul spaces.
  • Lin Ke entered his soul space and saw countless lights rush toward him before six enormous stars drove them away.
  • Lin Ke sensed that the six stars were ancient Bloodlines and identified the first two as Power and Luck.

Ch. 22The Power to Move the World

Lin Ke chose the Knowledge, Luck, and Leadership bloodlines and entered his soul space, where he found three newly sprouted bloodline saplings. After Ove learned that Lin Ke’s enlightenment had lasted unusually long and suspected he awakened multiple bloodlines, he warned Lin Ke to keep it secret and prepared to test his talent.

  • Lin Ke chose Knowledge, then Luck and Leadership, and discovered all three bloodlines in his soul space.
  • Lin Ke left his soul space and woke in the study, where Nix and John remained unconscious.
  • Ove said Lin Ke’s bloodline enlightenment had taken one minute and five seconds, far longer than normal, and speculated that he had awakened two bloodlines.
  • Ove warned Lin Ke to tell no one except his father and Ove, then brought out a crystal ball to test Lin Ke’s talent.

Ch. 23The highest rank, Andrew Level!

Lin Ke discovered that his aptitude was Andrew Level, the highest rank, and persuaded Ove to conceal the result. After Ove left, Lin Ke protected Nix and John’s secrets and gathered the castle’s residents to make an announcement.

  • Ove tested Lin Ke’s blood, and the crystal ball released a pillar of light that revealed Andrew Level aptitude.
  • Lin Ke asked Ove to conceal the result, and Ove agreed to claim the crystal ball had cracked during research.
  • Ove tested John and Nix, finding John’s aptitude interesting and Nix’s exceptional, then secretly changed the records in his memory to list safer ranks.
  • Lin Ke wondered whether Steward Billy was a Professional and told John and Nix to keep their bloodlines secret.
  • Lin Ke led John and Nix outside and gathered his family, Steward Billy, servants, and guards at the castle gates to make an announcement.

Ch. 24The soft-life corruption method

Lin Ke announced that he, John, and Nix had awakened excellent bloodlines, but the news overwhelmed Furon and moved the servants to tears. The next morning, Lin Ke prepared a comfortable lesson for the reclusive Ove, beginning his plan to ease Ove’s fear of people and win him over.

  • Lin Ke told the people of Azan Castle about the three bloodline awakenings and explained their ranks and the Crystal Ball’s destruction.
  • Furon cried with joy and relief, and the servants shared her emotions until Lin Ke escorted her to rest.
  • Ove summoned Lin Ke, John, and Nix to the study and hid behind a bookshelf while speaking to them.
  • Lin Ke had John bring refreshments, comfortable chairs, and stored ice to make Ove’s lesson more comfortable.

Ch. 25Becoming a [Scholar]!

Ove taught Lin Ke, John, and Nix how traits combined to form a class, then agreed to stay until they became [Scholars]. Lin Ke entered his Soul Space and became a [Scholar] in twenty-three minutes, leaving Ove astonished and full of admiration.

  • Lin Ke arranged the study for Ove and used the chance to show respect for his teacher, prompting Ove to summon a Servant of Truth to move the furniture and refreshments.
  • Ove explained that becoming a [Scholar] required gaining insight into traits such as learning, research, and recording, and said he would stay until the three students formed their classes.
  • Lin Ke entered his Soul Space and passed memories from his previous life into the sapling, which grew a branch and gave him the [Scholar] class.
  • After Lin Ke returned, John clarified that only twenty-three minutes had passed, and Ove marveled at how quickly Lin Ke had become a [Scholar].
  • Lin Ke humbly credited Ove’s guidance, and Ove praised the promise of Lin Ke’s future.
