Yang Xiong grinned. "That should be the case. I'm choosing Beastkin as my race, too. I'll be seriously strong. What race are you choosing?"

Zhao Chi shook his head. "I haven't decided yet. I need to think it over some more."

Yang Xiong nodded. "Yeah, it's better to be careful. You'll be sticking with your starting race for a while. All right, let's get going."

The two followed the crowd out of the auditorium.

As soon as they stepped outside, Yang Xiong broke into a run.

"Zhao Chi, I'm heading off first. Remember to add me as a friend once you've established your territory. Then our territories can trade and support each other."

Yang Xiong looked as though he could not wait another second.

Zhao Chi smiled. "Got it. Get going. I need to head back and establish my territory, too."

Chapter 5: Opening a Territory World

All the students hurried along.

Zhao Chi quickly left the Academy as well.

He made his way through the semi-modern streets, passing horse-drawn carriages and motor vehicles, shopping centers and banks, then weapon shops and mercenary offices before turning onto a narrow road.

Without stopping, he headed straight home.

Zhao Chi's home was a small wooden cabin on the edge of a village on the city's outskirts.

Two years earlier, magical beasts had invaded.

Disaster had struck Zhao Chi's family. Both his parents had been killed, and Zhao Chi had been gravely injured.

Their original house had also been destroyed.

Later, with the clan chief's help, this little wooden cabin had been built.

It gave the "surviving" Zhao Chi a place to stay.

It was not large, but it provided shelter.
