I wrote a bonus chapter today and finished the regular update too, so it was already pretty late. I wouldn't write much for this wrap-up, just share a few things briefly.
Overall, my updating routine in January wasn't great. I often stayed up all night with insomnia, and each sleepless night left me in bad shape for two days, over and over again. Then I caught a cold and felt dizzy for several days. I spent more than half the month working with my head spinning and foggy.
Fortunately, I went to the hospital last week and got proper medication. After I came home and started taking it, my sleep problems eased up somewhat.
Still, being in poor shape earlier really did make the pacing a little scattered. Personally, I felt that the section around the Fox Demon Tomb-that particular instance-wasn't written very well. The plot wasn't tight enough, and it didn't have a proper major climax.
Things were a little better over the last couple of days, so the design for this Secret Realm was a bit more complete.
There was also a mistake in chapter 205, updated the day before yesterday, at the first encounter with the Fox Demon. I hadn't thought it through enough. Having the Fox Demon suddenly get right up in the protagonist's face might not have read very well.
At first, I probably just thought that since she was there to bring the protagonist benefits anyway, it didn't matter. Thinking about it afterward, though, readers didn't know that. They would naturally feel that the protagonist's safety was threatened and the situation had slipped out of his control.
So I revised it again today. I changed it so that the protagonist entered the Fox Demon Amusement Park first, then met the Fox Demon Lady inside.
