Background

Qian Daoliu is the father of Qian Xunji and grandfather of Qian Renxue and Xue Tianyu. As the Grand High Priest of Spirit Hall’s Worship Hall, he oversees the Angel lineage and its divine inheritance. He spent years investigating an anomaly in the Angel God’s succession: the Angel statue indicated that Qian Renxue was not the inheritor, despite the Angel bloodline supposedly belonging exclusively to the Qian family. 7 11 12

His investigation led him to suspect that Bibi Dong had borne another Qian descendant. When he confronted her, Bibi Dong initially denied having another child, then revealed that she had given birth to a son and claimed to have killed him. Qian Daoliu did not kill her in retaliation, both because Qian Renxue would lose her remaining parent and because he remained certain that the true Angel inheritor was alive. 35 47 49 55

After Bibi Dong later confessed the existence of Qian Renxue’s twin brother, Qian Daoliu reassured Renxue that the child had survived. The Angel God provided him with Inheritance Pearls that would glow near his missing grandson, allowing the Worship Hall to continue the search. 82 86 113

Spirit Kite Douluo eventually confirmed Xue Tianyu as Qian Daoliu’s grandson and Qian Renxue’s younger brother. Qian Daoliu openly chose Xue Tianyu over Bibi Dong and Tang Chen, arriving to protect him during a major confrontation rather than assist Spirit Hall’s former Pope. 114 159

Following a battle with Bo Saixi, Qian Daoliu was severely injured, captured, and imprisoned on Sea God Island under the Sea God’s orders. He remained defiant, attempted to transmit his aura beyond the island’s barrier, and ultimately escaped with help from Sea Dragon Douluo, the Sea Witch, and Xiao Bai. 193 194 301 313 315

After returning to Spirit City, he resigned as Grand Elder and passed the position to Qian Renxue. He chose to leave Spirit Hall’s daily affairs behind and travel the world with Bo Saixi. 382

Personality

Qian Daoliu is deeply devoted to the future of Spirit Hall and the Angel lineage. Even after learning of Qian Xunji’s wrongdoing toward Bibi Dong, he supported Bibi Dong’s rise as Pope because he believed her talent could strengthen Spirit Hall. 35

His greatest weakness is his affection for Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong repeatedly exploits his concern for Renxue, knowing that he is reluctant to kill her while Renxue might still need her mother.
