Tsuchiya Masanobu's right arm was wrapped in bandages, and the chakra shackles on his feet scraped across the floor. When he saw Ōnoki, he first bowed in greeting.
"Lord Tsuchikage, Iwagakure cannot send troops."
Ōnoki did not acknowledge his greeting.
"Who gave you the strip of cloth?"
"It came through the wall of the Interrogation Room."
"Explain."
"Someone used Earth Release to send the cloth inside. It carried the Second Tsuchikage's chakra."
Kurotsuchi recognized that presence. Iwagakure kept combat records of every past Tsuchikage, and chakra signatures could not be forged with an ordinary Transformation Technique.
Ōnoki picked up the bloodstained cloth and ran a fingertip along its edge.
"Lord Mu has been brought back through Impure World Reincarnation."
"There are others," Tsuchiya Masanobu said. "The Iwagakure Cemetery was robbed last night. The Second Tsuchikage's remains are missing. The graves of the Former Explosion Corps were dug up too, and all the Shinobi guarding the cemetery have disappeared."
"Why is this news only reaching us now?"
"High Command cut off the villages' independent communications."
Tsuchiya Masanobu looked at Sasuke.
"This is the result of your forcibly taking control of military orders. Iwagakure can't even report an incident in its own cemetery."
Sasuke handed the cloth to Neji to examine.
"The messenger could enter the central camp in the Land of Iron and knew where the Interrogation Room was. If the old communications were still in place, he wouldn't have sent a piece of cloth. He would have sent a forged order bearing the Tsuchikage's seal."
"You're going to use even this to justify seizing power?"
