Sasuke did not rise, merely pushing the dossier on Danzo's public trial to the edge of the desk.
Jiraiya still had a foot on the window frame. At those words, the anger on his face remained, but he did not immediately advance.
He looked at the Third Hokage.
"Old man, did you really resign?"
The Third Hokage lowered his head and looked at the hat on the desk.
"Jiraiya, Konoha needs you to stay calm."
Jiraiya jumped down from the window frame, his wooden clogs landing on the floor. His gaze swept over Kakashi, Shikaku, and Hiashi before returning to Sasuke.
"An eight-year-old kid led a group of people to force the Hokage to resign and got Danzo killed in front of the entire village. How do you expect me to stay calm?"
Kakashi stood between the Third Hokage and Jiraiya.
"Danzo was an S-Rank Missing-nin. The Daimyo's Residence convicted him."
Jiraiya stared at him.
"Kakashi, you're on their side too?"
Kakashi placed the White Fang case dossier in front of Jiraiya.
"I'm on the dossier's side."
Jiraiya picked up the dossier and flipped through several pages. The curses he had been about to utter stuck in his throat.
The Hokage Building's old seals, Root codes, and records of alterations to Hatake Sakumo's mission were all laid out on the pages.
Jiraiya closed the dossier, pressing his fingers against its cover, and did not look at the Third Hokage again.
"I'll investigate these."
Sasuke raised a hand, and Yamada Naoto reduced the Water Mirror Formation Disc's coverage, leaving only the internal proceedings at the judges' bench on record.
"You can investigate. Register your clearance first."
Jiraiya looked up.
"Are you ordering me around?"
Sasuke straightened his collar
