Heavy cannon fire kept raining down on the walls, blasting the Orc zombies atop them to pieces.
Although Southshore rivaled a small city in size, its walls were not particularly sturdy.
Relations between the Human Kingdoms were fairly good, and large-scale conflicts did not break out between them.
Naturally, a small city like this had no need for particularly well-built walls.
After just a few rounds of bombardment, a large stretch of the wall cracked and collapsed.
With the walls blasted down, the undead creatures occupying the town were no longer contained and poured out through the breach.
The undead creatures that charged out were a disorganized jumble, with zombies and skeletons of several races mixed together.
The skeletons among them had been raised by Death Knights who had dug up Southshore's graveyard.
The skeletons looked so frail that even a wooden club seemed capable of smashing them apart.
But that was only how they looked.
Their bones had been strengthened by death energy, and ordinary wooden sticks certainly could not knock them apart.
Even if they were knocked apart, they could quickly reassemble themselves.
Farmers wielding hoes and other farming tools were certainly no match for these skeletons.
Watching the zombies and skeletons charging toward them in a chaotic mass, the artillery crews laid down suppressing fire.
Shell after shell landed among the undead army, blasting them to pieces.
But undead creatures were different from the living. They were not so easily destroyed by cannon fire.
The dead did not care about having a few holes in their bodies.
As long as their legs had not been blown off, they would soon climb back up.
Those puny skeletons were even more outrageous!
If their legs broke, they could pick up suitable bones to replace them.
Unless a shell exploded
