Arc 1The War Machine Campaign

Herad rose as a mage, introduced firearms and Arcane War Machines to the High Elves, and helped lead their campaign against Zul'Aman. As the Silvermoon City Council backed the campaign, Chromie left to report to the Bronze Dragons.

  • Herad secretly advanced his magic, built an arcane golem, won the Spell Tournament, and accepted Rommath’s invitation to study at the Royal Academy of Magic.
  • Herad traveled to Dalaran, bought long-barreled rifles from Jindi, and arranged for Gnomes to help establish weapons factories in Quel’Thalas.
  • Herad introduced firearms to Sylvanas’s Rangers, while a Bronze Dragon investigated his past and eventually stopped monitoring him.
  • Herad joined Sylvanas’s campaign against the Forest Trolls, where musket volleys and cannon-equipped golems broke through the defenders and drove Nalorakk back behind the Magic Defense Barrier.
  • Herad developed Arcane War Machines so Rangers could carry autocannons, then built several and gave three to Sylvanas.
  • The Rangers discovered that a World Tree favored Herad’s white Hawkstrider, while Alleria learned to operate an Arcane War Machine and requested that the Council purchase them.
  • King Anasterian Sunstrider announced the Council’s strong support for the campaign, and Chromie left for the Caverns of Time to report to the Bronze Dragons.

Arc 2The Battle for Southshore

Herad helped Quel'Thalas and the Alliance prepare for war as the Horde advanced through the human kingdoms, using dragons to threaten the Allied Forces. The Horde landed at Southshore, where gryphon riders and paladins held the line until the mist cleared.

  • Herad’s High Elf army destroyed Zul'Aman, and Herad sent Silvermoon a warning that Zul'jin might return with Animal Loa power.
  • Herad adapted siphon magic, created Arcane Scavengers, and learned that the Horde was raiding Stormwind through the Black Morass.
  • Khadgar defeated Medivh, but the Orcs overwhelmed Stormwind’s defenses, and Orgrim captured the city after Garona assassinated King Llane.
  • The human kingdoms formed the Alliance, while Gul'dan created Death Knights and Orgrim’s forces fought the Dwarves and Gnomes around Blackrock Spire.
  • Orgrim’s fleet suffered a defeat at the hands of Kul Tiras, but Red Dragons then drove the Alliance’s ships away, prompting the Wildhammer Dwarves to join the Alliance.
  • Herad’s Arcane Scavenger drained Turalyon’s holy energy, and Herad later improved the machine and prepared weapons to counter the Red Dragons.
  • Falstad’s Gryphon Riders and the Kul Tiras fleet attacked the Horde’s next crossing, killing the dragons’ handlers and forcing the fleet to retreat before it reached the Wetlands.
  • The Horde sailed toward Southshore with twenty-four Red Dragons, but gryphon riders struck them with explosive lances as the Orcs landed in the fog.
  • Orc Warriors broke into the Allied Forces’ defensive line, but Uther and the other First-Generation Paladins held them until the mist cleared.
