Background

Jiang Yuzhuo is the younger son of Jiang Huai, chairman of the Jiang Group. His family leads City A’s hotel and tourism industry. He and his older half-brother, Jiang Yujing, share a father but have different mothers; their hostility dates back to childhood 5 9.

After studying abroad, Jiang Yuzhuo returned to the country and took charge of Grand Prosperity, the Jiang Family’s most luxurious hotel. Yan Jinyue helped him obtain the position from his grandfather. Old Master Ji nevertheless identifies Jiang Huai as the decisive influence behind the arrangement; Ji Hanxing understands it as a way for Jiang Huai to keep his adult sons competing against one another 5 6 7 9 11.

Taking over Grand Prosperity gives Jiang Yuzhuo a foothold against his brother, whom many in City A already regard as the likely successor to the family business. Personality

Jiang Yuzhuo is outgoing, demonstrative, and eager to establish familiarity. During his first formal meeting with Ji Hanxing, he quickly adopts “Brother Ji,” personally serves him tea, and treats his acceptance as proof that sincerity works. His friendliness returns at their next gathering despite his earlier defeat in negotiations 11 27.

His confidence is easily shaken by more experienced businessmen. He mistakes Ji Hanxing’s confused silence for preparation for a devastating compensation demand, then becomes defensive when he realizes he has been coaxed into discussing sensitive footage. His attempt to recover his pride through a bluff only leaves him more thoroughly cornered 11 12 13.

Although gullible about business and personal claims, he is quick to recognize romantic interest. He suspects Yan Jinyue’s attraction to Ji Hanxing early on, repeatedly tells Si Mu about it, and later recognizes the romantic implications of a hot spring invitation immediately 5 51 98.

Yan warns that the drugging of two guests and Ji Hanxing’s unexplained corridor injury could give Jiang Yujing grounds to attack his management 5.
• Investigation and damage control: Jiang promises to investigate and compensate Ji Hanxing. Yan takes over the drugging inquiry, while Jiang remains responsible for the injury’s fallout and preserving the surveillance footage 5 6.
• Presidential-suite fittings: He agrees to remove chains he had installed for VIP guests after Yan objects. Ji Hanxing later criticizes the same fittings, prompting Jiang to complain that neither man has a sense of fun 6 14.
