Inside the Hokage's office~
As usual, Hiruzen Sarutobi sat upright at the Hokage's desk, handling affairs.
Suddenly~
A masked, white-haired Anbu appeared with the Body Flicker Technique and bowed.
"Lord Hokage, intelligence reports say Iwagakure and Kirigakure formed an alliance at Green Dam and went to Kumogakure together. They may be plotting something."
"A plot? Sakumo, who do you think would be suitable for this mission?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi folded his hands on the desk and looked up at Hatake Sakumo gravely.
Hatake Sakumo suddenly remembered what his son, Kakashi Hatake, had said before leaving.
Kakashi Hatake had said, "Father, the missions inside the village are too easy. Are there any missions outside?"
Hatake Sakumo leaned forward slightly and spoke firmly.
"Lord Hokage, we could send Lei with Kakashi and let him get accustomed to the battlefield."
"Yes, Kakashi became a Chunin at six, and he's ten now. It really is time he gained some experience."
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded his approval of the mission and continued with his instructions.
"Sakumo, go tell Lei about the mission, then."
"Yes, Lord Hokage," Hatake Sakumo replied, cupping his fist.
A knock suddenly sounded at the door~
Knock, knock, knock~
Then a cheerful Uchiha Lei opened the wooden door and slowly walked up to the desk.
Seeing Hatake Sakumo there too, he raised a hand in greeting.
"Good morning, Sakumo!"
"Good morning, Lei. As it happens, I have something to discuss with you," Hatake Sakumo replied, raising his hand.
Hearing that there was something to discuss with him, Uchiha Lei knew it was no simple matter. The smile vanished from his face, replaced by a serious expression as he asked,
"Please, go ahead, Sakumo."
"Here's the situation, Lei..." Hatake Sakumo repeated what he had said about the alliance at Green Dam and taking Kakashi
