After Itachi’s death exposed Danzō’s crimes, the Uchiha reconciled with Konoha and Hiruzen gave way to Acting Hokage Torifu Akimichi. Douyang joined a new special operations team and helped Miroku confront Moryo, where Shisui and Douyang restrained the demon so she could seal him.

• Douyang killed Itachi and hid his head, then awakened his Sharingan as he investigated the death alongside Kakashi and Shisui.
• The investigation traced evidence to Danzō, and Hiruzen stripped him of his positions and ordered Root disbanded.
• Fugaku negotiated greater Uchiha participation in village affairs, while Hiashi challenged Hiruzen’s continued rule and Torifu became Acting Hokage.
• Torifu established the Special Operations Department and sent Douyang, Kakashi, Shisui, and Guy to protect Priestess Miroku.
• The team reached the Land of Demons, joined ninja from other villages, and learned that Miroku had to travel to Demon-Sealing Mountain to seal Moryo.
• Douyang persuaded Miroku to teach him her clan’s sealing jutsu, and the escorting teams ambushed Moryo before continuing to the mountain.
• At the mountain, Miroku prepared the sealing array while Shisui awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan and restrained Moryo with Susanoo.
• Douyang summoned enormous black cubes through Daikokuten and struck Moryo, urging Miroku to begin the sealing.

Douyang and Shisui sealed Moryo, survived a series of attacks, and helped turn back Kirigakure’s invasion. Douyang then stole the Ryūmyaku from Rōran and escorted its people toward safety, while Obito began plotting to exploit Uchiha Kazekawa’s resentment.

• Douyang and Shisui helped Miroku seal Moryo, then killed Toroi and his Cloud Ninja when they tried to take the spirit for Kumogakure.
• After Douyang and Shisui survived an ambush in the Land of Grass, Douyang refused to treat Danzo and obtained the Four Symbols Seal to pursue the Ryūmyaku.
• Douyang joined Kakashi, Shisui, and Guy in destroying Kirigakure’s supply depot, then used Shinra Tensei to escape a deadly counterattack.
• Douyang and his teammates destroyed more Mist supply units, forcing Kirigakure to withdraw and opening the way for peace talks.
• Douyang secretly left Konoha with Kurenai’s help and traveled to Rōran, where he persuaded the Queen of Roran to show him the Ryūmyaku.
• Douyang used the Amber Purifying Pot to capture all of the Ryūmyaku’s chakra, then paid to escort the Queen and her people toward the Land of Rivers.
• Rasa learned the Ryūmyaku had been stolen, while Obito chose Uchiha Kazekawa as a target and ordered Zetsu to go after Kazekawa’s girlfriend.
