Ch. 41Shinra Tensei

Douyang unlocked Shinra Tensei and used it to wipe out the Mist Ninja surrounding him and Shisui at the supply depot. Shisui carried the exhausted Douyang toward the Land of Waves, while another Mist Ninja force arrived to find the island flattened and its guards dead.

  • Sora Minazuki ambushed Douyang and Shisui with an ice dragon, leaving Douyang injured and Shisui unable to move.
  • Ganryū arrived with Mist Ninja reinforcements, recognized Douyang and Shisui, and ordered the Interrogation Department to be notified.
  • Douyang discovered Shinra Tensei on his stats panel and unleashed it, blasting the Mist Ninja and flattening much of the island.

Ch. 42Holding position

After Team Kakashi destroyed Kirigakure’s supply depot, Douyang, Guy, Shisui, and the injured Kakashi recovered on an island while the enemy halted its advance. The chapter ended with Konoha’s commanders relieved by the pause, though Fugaku remained worried about Team Kakashi.

  • Douyang, Guy, and Shisui rested and ate on an island while Kakashi lay unconscious from his injuries, and Douyang considered his chakra limits and the Ryūmyaku.
  • The Fourth Raikage learned that Team Kakashi was suspected of killing Toroi and ordered Dodai to watch the front so Kumogakure could attack Konoha if Kirigakure broke through.
  • Utakata, Suikazan Fuguki, and Hozuki Mangetsu received the Fourth Mizukage’s order to hold position and suspected that a problem had arisen in Kirigakure’s rear.
  • Shikaku Nara told Uchiha Fugaku and Hyuga Hiashi that the Kirigakure army had stopped its attack, and Fugaku explained that Team Kakashi had destroyed its supplies.
  • Shikaku and Hiashi felt relieved by the enemy’s supply shortage, while Fugaku worried about whether Team Kakashi had survived its dangerous mission.

Ch. 43Hunting down the supply convoy

Kakashi's team decided to remain in the Land of Waves and harass Kirigakure, while the Mist Ninja identified the four-person unit responsible for destroying their supply point. As Hozuki Mangetsu set out to hunt them, Douyang attacked another Kirigakure supply convoy on an island.

  • Kakashi, Douyang, Shisui, and Guy agreed to stay in the Land of Waves and planned a covert route back to Konoha.
  • Utakata and the Kirigakure commanders learned that Konoha's four-person special operations team had destroyed a supply point and killed its defenders and reinforcements.

  • Douyang emerged from underwater and charged a Mist Ninja supply convoy, while its squad leader attacked him with a short sword.

Ch. 44Obito appears

Douyang destroyed another Kirigakure supply point, while Obito appeared and decided the army should withdraw. Team Kakashi’s attacks continued to disrupt the Mist forces, but Douyang suspected Obito had killed his Shadow Clone and chose to keep the team hidden.

  • Douyang killed the Mist Ninja guarding a supply point, destroyed its supplies, and used a Shadow Clone to draw pursuers away from his retreat.
  • Hozuki Mangetsu arrived and ordered a search, but Obito killed Douyang’s Shadow Clone and discussed Kirigakure’s dwindling supplies with White Zetsu and Black Zetsu.
  • Obito decided Kirigakure’s army would withdraw, calling the campaign a test of Konoha and hinting that withdrawal was only the beginning.
  • Douyang, Guy, and Shisui reported destroying eight supply units between them, while Kakashi said he was nearly recovered; their attacks stalled Kirigakure’s army and gave Konoha time to reinforce its defenses.
  • Douyang noticed his Shadow Clone had vanished and suspected Obito had killed it, so he advised Team Kakashi to stay hidden while Kirigakure’s searches intensified.

Ch. 45The Mist Ninja withdrew

After Kirigakure withdrew, Konoha accepted its offer of peace talks, while Obito planned to use the negotiations to provoke conflict and undermine the Uchiha’s growing ties with the village. Douyang returned to Konoha and learned that Kumogakure had also pulled back its army.

  • Hozuki Mangetsu received orders to withdraw after Kirigakure’s supply problems, and the Mist Ninja army retreated from the Land of Waves.

  • Obito told White Zetsu and Black Zetsu that he planned to use a Kirigakure delegation to provoke Konoha, but first wanted to disrupt the Uchiha Clan’s improving position in the village.
  • Obito ordered White Zetsu to infiltrate Konoha and find a suitable Uchiha to help intensify conflict between the clan and the village.
  • Douyang reunited with Kurenai Yuhi and Uchiha Yui at the clinic, then heard from Kurenai that Kumogakure had withdrawn its army after the Mist Ninja retreated.

Ch. 46Douyang: If you're feeling unwell, a shot will fix it

Ch. 47Queen of Roran

Douyang secretly left the village and traveled to the Land of Wind to find the surviving people of Rōran and obtain the ryūmyaku. He reached the Queen of Roran and offered her medicine, but she questioned what business he could possibly have with her people.

  • Kurenai Yuhi agreed to help Douyang stay away from the village for up to two months, and Douyang secretly left that afternoon.
  • Three days into his journey, Douyang lured two bounty hunters into an ambush, defeated them, and killed them before continuing onward.
  • After a difficult journey, Douyang reached the oasis where the surviving people of Rōran lived and waited until night to approach their queen.
  • Douyang entered the Queen of Roran's tent and introduced himself as a ninja and businessman without revealing his identity.
  • Noticing that the Queen of Roran was gravely ill, Douyang gave her pills to ease her suffering, and she asked what business he had with her people.

Ch. 48Your Majesty, you wouldn't want anything to happen to your people, would you?

Douyang coerced the Queen of Roran into leading him to the Ryūmyaku, promising money for her people in exchange for her help. At the altar, he weakened one of Minato Namikaze’s seals, causing the berserk Ryūmyaku to batter the remaining seal as Douyang prepared to contain it with the Amber Purifying Pot.

  • Douyang threatened the Queen of Roran’s people until she agreed to reveal the Ryūmyaku’s location and help him suppress it in exchange for money.
  • The Queen of Roran led Douyang across the desert to the ruins of the Ancient City of Rōran after three days of travel.
  • At the altar, Douyang identified Minato Namikaze’s two sealing formulas and said he could undo only one.
  • Douyang released the Four Symbols Seal, weakening the seals by about sixty percent and allowing the Queen of Roran to sense the Ryūmyaku.
  • The berserk Ryūmyaku battered the remaining seal, and Douyang took out the Amber Purifying Pot despite the Queen of Roran’s warning.

Ch. 49Taking the Ryūmyaku

Douyang used the Amber Purifying Pot and the Queen of Roran’s command to capture and seal the Ryūmyaku. After returning to the oasis, he warned the Queen that Sunagakure would soon pursue her, and she realized she needed to leave the Land of Wind.

  • Douyang advised the Queen to leave the Land of Wind before Sunagakure came looking for her, and she agreed the danger was real.

Ch. 50Uchiha Kazekawa in the Crosshairs

Douyang arranged to move the people of Rōran to the Land of Rivers in exchange for the Ryūmyaku, while Sunagakure learned the Ryūmyaku had been stolen. Meanwhile, Obito chose Uchiha Kazekawa as a potential pawn and planned to target his girlfriend to awaken his Mangekyō Sharingan.

  • Douyang offered the Queen of Roran ten million for the Ryūmyaku and arranged to escort her people to the Land of Rivers.
  • The Queen of Roran led the caravan east while Douyang followed behind to watch for Sunagakure's pursuers.
