Lucas shook his head inwardly. Seeing that Yalta and her husband were both plant life, and special beings capable of bearing fruit at that, he had wanted to follow the Sovereign of Death's example of keeping a Darkness Sovereign like the Netherworld Fruit Tree and keep a Life Fruit Tree himself.
Now it seemed she had refused him. Lucas took out a suit of Sovereign Artifact armor, then a scroll, and said to Yalta, "All right, I'll grant you a Material Defense Sovereign Artifact and a scroll for summoning a Sovereign."
Then he explained, "Tear the scroll if you encounter danger. I'll come and help you once. Consider it repayment for the favor I owed you back in the Material Plane."
"Well-"
Seeing her hesitate, Lucas rose and left.
The elf Paya and Otto, who had no idea how Lucas had left, asked Yalta, "My lady, do you know how Lucas left?"
Sensing Lucas's departure, the Sovereign of this continent condensed a Sovereign energy avatar and asked Yalta, "What is your relationship with that lord who was just here?"
The Sovereign who appeared was a Lower Sovereign. He had witnessed Lucas hunting down other Sovereigns before, so he had appeared to clarify this group's relationship with Lucas. He did not want to offend that lord over these Gods.
