But Lucas could not feel happy now, because he noticed a pair of cold eyes staring at him and Little Bear Anton, who had suddenly barged in.

Lucas's heart sank. This magical beast was clearly a level nine magical beast. Although Lucas was now confident that he could fight a seventh-level magical beast head-on, as long as an eighth-level magical beast was not a speed-type, he would at least not be killed in a single blow. That might give him a chance to escape.

But what stood here now was a level nine snake-type magical beast. Lucas carefully sensed his surroundings and discovered that the natural elements here were clearly far more abundant than elsewhere. He looked at the glowing fissure above the snake's head.

Lucas also realized that this should be their plane's Planar Prison, or rather, the other side of the two sides that made up this plane. It was also for this reason that, because the Planar Prison on the other side had fewer natural elements than this place, a difference in elemental tides had formed. The wind he had sensed earlier had not come from the light above at all, but had been formed by the elemental tides here.

That also explained why the surroundings were so dim, and why this level nine magical beast was entrenched here.

Lucas hurriedly had Little Bear Anton, who had advanced to a sixth-level magical beast after being fed Magic Beast Cores by him over the past few years, ask the level nine magical beast, "We can withdraw from this place. Can you let us leave safely?"

After having Anton ask, Lucas clearly heard the snake-type magical beast roar in anger. He hurriedly asked Anton, "What did it say?"

Trembling a little, Anton told Lucas, "Boss, it said that every magical beast that learns its secret has to die."

Lucas immediately began cursing inwardly, but under these circumstances, there was no way to withdraw safely. He had only one chance: knock it back into the range of the spatial rift's suction and let it be sucked into the Planar Prison!

Just as Lucas was guarding against it, it launched an attack. Lucas shouted, and Little Bear Anton immediately understood. He took the first wave of damage for Lucas. Lucas had no time now to check on Little Bear Anton, who had been sent flying by a single lash from the level nine snake magical beast and whose fate was unknown.

Lucas immediately unleashed his strongest attack, knocking it back with a strike imbued with Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy. But from what Lucas could sense, his strike had fallen far short of the effect he wanted.

With his powerful will to survive, Lucas understood that he had only one more chance to thrust his spear. Taking advantage of the moment when the snake-type magical beast was resisting the suction and had no attention to spare for him, Lucas closed in again. He used the last of the Battle Qi in his body to deliver another strike.

It had never imagined that a mere sixth-rank warrior, whom it considered no threat, could break through its casual attack and knock it back into a dangerous area. Now it had no choice but to resist the suction. Seeing Lucas's second strike arrive, it could only use its head, lunging forward to bite him.

Lucas's spear struck its head, and then the force of the biting snake head's attack sent him flying. He slammed into the wall beside him and was knocked unconscious.

After an unknown amount of time, Lucas felt something wet licking him. When he woke, his entire body hurt. He endured the pain and struggled to his feet, then asked, "Is that you, Anton?"

Seeing that his boss had woken, Anton said happily, "Boss, where's that level nine magical beast?"

Lucas looked at the spatial rift, then said, "It was sucked in there. How are you?"

When his boss asked, Anton said plaintively, "Boss, it hurts so much. I feel like several of my bones are broken!"

Lucas also checked his own condition. Several bones throughout his body were broken as well. His internal organs should also have been injured by that strike, and they still hurt.

A level nine magical beast really was different. With his fifth-rank body, he had exchanged only a single blow with it, yet the recoil alone had injured him so badly. His magical beast Anton had also taken a blow, but had actually woken before him. It seemed that magical beasts had far stronger constitutions than humans.

Lucas still felt lucky. Fortunately, there had been a spatial rift here, giving him a chance to knock it into the rift. It was probably because the closer one got to the spatial rift, the more elements the spatial tides brought. It had likely stayed here for quite a long time, so it should have been positioned right at the limit where the spatial rift's suction could pose a danger to it.

He was also thankful that he had already comprehended Wielding Something Light as Though It Were Heavy, making his attacks slightly stronger than those of a seventh-level magical beast. This was also the most seriously he had ever been injured!

Lucas was very glad that this spatial rift had not yet been sealed, but he also knew that the area around such a rift meant danger.

So Lucas tried condensing his Battle Qi, and after recovering somewhat, he prepared to leave. Once he emerged from the waterfall, Lucas picked up his backpack and left with Little Bear Anton.

Although Lucas also knew that he might encounter other dangerous magical beasts outside, compared with other magical beasts, he was still more afraid of those fellows who came out of the Planar Prison. He clearly remembered that Dylan, who had returned from the Yulan Plane's prison, had let his son feast there.

Now that Lucas had sent a level nine magical beast in there, he did not know whether the fellows in that Planar Prison would discover it and then follow the rift here!

What Lucas did not know was that, in the era he was now living in, the Four Higher Planes and Seven Laws Planes had yet to be established, so there would be no planar overseer. As a result, not many magical beasts or other creatures had been imprisoned in there.

Apart from earlier magical beasts unlucky enough to enter by accident, this level nine magical beast was probably the first magical beast to be deliberately sent into this plane's Planar Prison.

As a level nine magical beast, it simply did not have the defensive power of a saint magical beast. Nor did it have a father like the deity Dylan to protect it with divine power. Thus, it was torn to pieces inside the spatial rift, dead beyond any doubt. The elements within the Planar Prison were truly rather sparse. There were simply not many beings there, and there were no deity-level beings capable of reaching the Material Plane.

Lucas and Little Bear Anton found a valley and hid there to begin recovering from their injuries. Three months later, their injuries had more or less healed.

After being injured this time, Lucas had also gained a blessing in disguise. His Battle Qi had successfully broken through to the seventh rank, but he still did not dare return beneath the waterfall with the spatial rift to temper his body.
