He had already spared some attention to observe this when the Divine Dogs fought Bara.
Bara's potential aura reserves had been around ten thousand, but the boost his shadow now gave Qiao Lun fell short of ten thousand. It was only a tenth of that.
What Qiao Lun was considering now was whether gaining a tenth of Bara's power from his shadow meant that Bara, who had lost his shadow, would lose a tenth of his strength.
Unfortunately, as an Enhancer, Bara had no finishing move worth mentioning. Otherwise, this experiment could have been more thorough.
It seemed Genthru was still the most useful.
Time ticked by as Qiao Lun continued his experiments. Only the next day could he grab Genthru's shadow again.
In other words, as long as he tore off a target's shadow and used it, he could gain a special boost lasting five minutes.
When a shadow merged into a target's body, it not only allowed the target to wield some of the shadow owner's usable Nen Abilities, but also temporarily granted additional aura amounting to roughly a tenth of the owner's total reserves.

That left only two things to determine: how long Qiao Lun could hold on to a target's shadow after taking it, and whether the shadow would remain after its owner died.
Bara died.
Qiao Lun had rolled his shadow into a ball, and it did not dissipate with Bara's death.
However, the Shadow Ball was constantly leaking Nen. Left alone, it would naturally lose all its Nen and disappear after a while.
But if Qiao Lun used Shu to wrap the Shadow Ball, the Nen inside would not leak out, and the Shadow Ball would not disappear.
