The blade flashed, and a long wound immediately appeared across Kakashi's neck. But as the wound spread, he quickly turned into a block of wood!
Substitution Technique!
Uchiha Tatsumi stood silently where he was, looking at the wood before him. Then he turned toward a nearby tree, where Kakashi stood watching him impassively.
Of course, Uchiha Tatsumi had seen Kakashi use the Substitution Technique. He had been extremely fast, leaving his original position the moment he completed the technique.
But none of that escaped Uchiha Tatsumi's eyes. He simply had not pursued him.
Still, he was rather curious. Kakashi seemed to have reacted very quickly, but he knew that everything the boy had done was actually more like something he had prepared in advance.
It was as though he had anticipated what Tatsumi would do, which was why he had been able to execute the Substitution Technique so quickly.
"It seems you're much more interesting than I imagined." Uchiha Tatsumi watched Kakashi quietly before asking in a low voice, "Have you fought someone with a Sharingan before?"
"No, you're the first." Kakashi shook his head and jumped straight down from the tree, speaking evenly. "But I've seen the moves you use before."
Kakashi would never forget how Xia Yan had caught him out in a similar way during their first spar.
Using ninjutsu to block the Sharingan's vision, then attacking from the flank to achieve one's objective-this could be considered the best way to counter a Sharingan one-on-one.
Kakashi was not particularly practiced in using such tactics, since he had never actually encountered enemies with a Sharingan.
But seeing it once had given him a general understanding. He had remained on guard against such tactics, and the facts proved that his precautions really had worked.
"Is that so?" Uchiha Tatsumi
