Xia Yan’s pursuit of Obito led him to devastate Kirigakure and seize power from the Three-Tails, while new eyes and a shifting Uchiha power struggle reshaped Konoha. The arc ended with Orochimaru and Root attacking Uchiha Fugaku, whose Mangekyō Sharingan drew Xia Yan’s attention.

• Xia Yan awakened a fusion seed from White Zetsu’s remains, traveled to Kirigakure, and created a new Kekkei Tōta by combining chakra natures.
• Xia Yan confronted Karatachi Yagura and Kirigakure’s forces, unleashed the Nine-Tails, and devastated the village while defeating the Three-Tails.
• Xia Yan ambushed Obito and Black Zetsu, discovered the limits of Kamui, and severed Obito’s right hand before returning to Konoha with Mei Terumi, Kimimaro, and valuable specimens.

Xia Yan used Danzo’s downfall, the Shinobi World Daily, and alliances with Konoha’s clans to expand his influence while preparing for Kumogakure’s threat. After Xia Yan killed the Kumogakure Head Ninja who tried to abduct Hinata, Hiruzen chose to hand over the designated culprit, and Shikaku turned to Xia Yan for help.

• Xia Yan rescued Orochimaru from Fugaku’s genjutsu, took one of Fugaku’s eyes, and arranged Orochimaru’s staged escape while returning Itachi to Konoha.
• Xia Yan partnered with Orochimaru, fought Nagato’s Deva Path Pain, and awakened his Jōgan’s attraction and repulsion abilities before defeating Pain.
• Xia Yan launched the Shinobi World Daily, drew clans targeted by Danzo toward the Anbu, and killed Danzo after exposing his attacks.
• Xia Yan gained Yin-Yang Release and prepared Konoha for Kumogakure’s threatened war, while Little Nine-Tails absorbed the Three-Tails’ chakra and gained access to its power.
• Xia Yan declared his ambition to become Hokage to Shōma Senju, while Nara Shikashiro negotiated the newspaper’s entry into the Land of Earth with Ōnoki.

Xia Yan led Konoha to victory over Kumogakure, then became Fifth Hokage and reshaped the village’s leadership, military, and political system. After consolidating power and securing peace terms, he revived Hatake Sakumo and offered him a chance to serve Konoha again.

• Xia Yan led Konoha’s forces against Kumogakure, defeated the Fourth Raikage and Killer B, and destroyed the Cloud army with Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands.
• Konoha welcomed Xia Yan home as a hero, while Hiruzen Sarutobi acknowledged that the village’s future rested with him and Xia Yan moved toward becoming Hokage.
• Xia Yan negotiated with Minato Namikaze and Hiruzen Sarutobi, then won the village-wide election and declared himself the Fifth Hokage.
• Xia Yan reorganized Konoha’s departments, appointed Kakashi Anbu Director, and replaced clan-based political meetings with a representative system for shinobi ranks.

• Xia Yan restored Hatake Sakumo to life, recruited him into his Hokage Shadow Guard, and launched reforms for Konoha’s shinobi and foreign policy.
