Screams echoed endlessly inside the Painful Wailing Cabin.
But anyone standing outside would have discovered that very little of the noise inside escaped. Only faint, low wails could be heard, and those actually came from the building's walls of flesh.
When the building was intact, it provided quite good soundproofing. No matter how much noise was made inside, its effect on the outside world remained quite limited.
Back inside the cabin.
Yang Yi had just taken the Greedy Craftsman's Hammer out of the Life Fireplace. Heat rose from its head, and pained groans occasionally escaped it.
But despite the hammer's miserable cries, it had suffered no actual damage. After all, it was an Exceptional-quality weapon. There was no way a little casual burning could destroy it.
Besides, Yang Yi's Three Eyes could see souls, so he actually knew perfectly well whether Grand Craftsman Banks's soul had been injured.
Taking things to an extreme, if he wanted, he could even pull the hammer out an instant before its soul suffered damage, then stuff it back in once he recovered, repeating the process over and over.
He waited a few seconds, only asking again once the groans stopped. "How much did you say just now? I don't think I caught that."
Grand Craftsman Banks recovered, but his soul form was now bald. Soulfire had burned away all his hair and beard.
He glared fiercely at Yang Yi, seemingly holding quite a grudge.
So, without another word, Yang Yi shoved the hammerhead toward the Life Fireplace again.
"Wait... Aaaah!!!!!"
Yang Yi pulled the Artisan's Hammer out in time, having burned it for less than a second.
Banks immediately spoke, recovering much faster than before.
"You... you... I hadn't even said anything! Why did you start burning me again?"
"You looked like you didn't
