The great fire here had only just died out, and glowing embers were visible everywhere.
In the middle stood a rocket, looking exactly as one would expect, with a streamlined body and an enormous propulsion system at its base.
Much of a rocket like this was actually used to store fuel. It would even separate and discard empty fuel tanks, so there was little it could actually carry into space.
The rocket before Yang Yi was probably a small one, with a low payload capacity and a length of about thirty meters. Some of its surface coating had peeled off from the heat, exposing a differently colored layer underneath.
"Can this rocket still be used?"
Yang Yi frowned and asked the question he urgently wanted answered.
In reality, though, he was already checking the Sea Chart for the next nearest Rocket Launch Base.
"There's no need to worry, Grand Elder.
"Rockets are designed to withstand high temperatures. Otherwise, the heat generated by friction alone would be enough to burn them up."
Victor explained.
"That idiot used all the fuel in the tanks to cast spells earlier, but the rocket's internal structure should still be intact. Let me check."
This elder of the Fire Worship Cult seemed very familiar with rockets, even their construction.
Yang Yi had found that strange at first, but once he discovered that this elder had originally been a Ghoul, it all ceased to be strange.
Before joining the Fire Worship Cult, Victor had most likely been an engineer in the Deathbirth Society, specifically responsible for maintaining rockets, so he knew quite a lot.
"No problem. Refill the fuel and switch to manual ignition, and it should fly."
Victor reported after his inspection.
Yang Yi nodded at that. He did not care that the rocket had been
