"You're a player?!"
The elderly witch looked shocked.
"Put me down, quick. Tell me everything slowly."
Her attitude suddenly changed, as if she had become a different person, or rather, had been infused with vitality. Even her whole demeanor seemed different.
Yang Yi hesitated for only a few seconds before putting the elderly witch down. He was inside now anyway, and could pick her up again whenever he wanted.
"Come farther in first. It's still not safe here. That light is highly contagious and penetrates easily!"
The elderly witch turned and headed deeper inside as she spoke. Yang Yi followed less than a step behind. At this distance, with her being a mage, he could subdue her in an instant if he wanted.
But the elderly witch really had lost her hostility now, and had become much livelier. She hurried into the inner room on her short little legs, then jumped up and slapped a button after Yang Yi came in.
A thick, sturdy gate dropped into place. Now neither the light nor the clamor outside could get in; both were shut out entirely.
"Hiss... I haven't moved around in too long. I've thrown out my old back."
The elderly witch crouched on the floor with one hand pressed against her lower back, only for Yang Yi to pick her up like a parcel again.
"Where to?"
He asked, while also looking over the room's layout.
Like the Lost Ones Fleet's base, this place used folded-space technology, but there were no training facilities. Instead, there were hundreds of periscopes, transmitting views of the outside with virtually no blind spots.
It was probably thanks to these detection devices that the elderly witch had noticed Yang Yi, the odd one out among the madmen, and opened the door at the critical moment.
