Ch. 461Rust Guards

Yang Yi used two Screaming Demon corpses in the Gacha Machine and obtained sound-based relics. Meanwhile, the Rust Disease-ravaged Iron Brotherhood struggled against a giant sea monster with the help of its dangerous Rust Guards.

  • Yang Yi stopped fishing after his Three Eyes recovered and fed two Screaming Demon corpses into the Gacha Machine.
  • Yang Yi obtained a Wailing Horn and a Scream Drum, then stored both relics in the Captain's Quarters.
  • The Iron Brotherhood battled a giant sea monster that had harassed them for over three months as Rust Disease crippled their ships and weapons.
  • Yu Dawei broke free from a tentacle and attacked the monster, but his cannon malfunctioned and exploded.
  • The Iron Brotherhood brought rusted Ironclad Ships to the front, where dormant Rust Guards awakened and fired on the monster.

Ch. 462Firepower above all

Yu Dawei and the Iron Brotherhood used the rebuilt Iron Will to harpoon and kill a transformed sea monster, which contracted Rust Disease. Two days later, Yang Yi continued fishing aboard the Nightmare Star, read about Disappearance Disease, and received a response from the Crystal Ball Sea Chart showing other ships.

  • Zhang Zhi directed the Iron Brotherhood to focus their fire on the sea monster's tentacles, but a powerful mechanical tentacle cut an ironclad ship in half.
  • Yu Dawei summoned the Iron Will and ordered Zhang Zhi to fire the Whaling Harpoon Gun, launching Yu Dawei into the sea monster so he could attack it from within.
  • Three hours later, the sea monster surfaced dead, its body partly converted into rusty machinery by Rust Disease.
  • Two days later, Yang Yi fished aboard the Nightmare Star, asked Su Na about his new body, and continued avoiding risks from disease.
  • Yang Yi read the Deathbirth Society's files and considered the strange Disappearance Disease, but found no information about the Death Plague Prototype.
  • The Crystal Ball Sea Chart finally responded, displaying images of other ships.

Ch. 463Search

Yang Yi kept the Nightmare Star hidden from the Deathbirth Society while questioning Cui Xiya about Paladins and the Radiant Holy Church. Meanwhile, the Society investigated Crystal Island’s disappearance, confirmed that the Crystalline Disease was gone, and discovered bizarre human remains.

  • Yang Yi stopped the Nightmare Star far from the Deathbirth Society’s suspected base, halted deck activity, and asked Cui Xiya about Paladins.
  • Cui Xiya denied knowing that Paladins had mutated organs, and Yang Yi suspected the Church secretly modified them without her knowledge.
  • Yang Yi asked Cui Xiya about holy communion and children who failed to become Paladins, but she could provide no clear answers.
  • The Deathbirth Society’s advance team confirmed that Crystal Island had vanished and found no signs of Crystalline Disease in the surrounding area.
  • The captain learned that the Crystalline Disease was likely gone, ordered a cautious search for suspicious ships, and examined photographs of mutilated bodies with empty chests and eye sockets.

Ch. 464Points Distribution

After the Deathbirth Society’s search ended, Yang Yi planned how to spend his newly earned Conch Coins and received a periodic distribution of Player Points. He checked the updated Player Island information and learned that Xu Da had discovered Salt Island.

  • The Deathbirth Society’s ships searched around Crystal Island but failed to detect the concealed Nightmare Star, then most of the fleet departed.
  • Yang Yi’s Exceptional weapons sold, raising his balance to 94.37 million Conch Coins, and he planned equipment upgrades and further sales of basic materials.
  • A system announcement distributed Player Points and updated Player Island exploration and Vending Machine inventory; Yang Yi’s total rose to 30,469.
  • Su Na reported that she had earned 2,102 points and reminded Yang Yi that he owed her 50,000 points, while Cui Xiya excitedly revealed she had received 250.
  • Yang Yi checked the Sailing Log and found that Xu Da, captain of the Gale, had discovered a new Player Island called Salt Island.

Ch. 465Intel on the various player islands

Yang Yi reviewed intel on several player islands and grew interested in Salt Island and Dream Island. The chapter ended with Xu Da racing across the White Desert in the Gale, wounded and pursued by Salt Knights.

  • Yang Yi read about Salt Island, guessed it was formed around the Salt Spike, and considered contacting Xu Da to exchange intel.
  • Yang Yi reviewed updates on Moon Island, Garbage Island, Steam Island, and Mirror Island, then noticed Dream Island had reached 47% exploration.
  • Yang Yi suspected the Eden leader used the Dreamwalker path to explore Dream Island and decided to sleep more once he had recovered.
  • Xu Da traveled to the Abundant Sea to test the Pioneer Ritual, encountered a Rotting Whale, and followed the trail of dwindling food to the White Desert.
  • Xu Da entered the White Desert and discovered Salt Island, but an arrow dehydrated his right arm and shoulder as he drew the attention of mounted Salt Knights.
  • Xu Da sped across the desert in the Gale while the Salt Knights pursued him.

Ch. 466Redemption

Yang Yi gathered information about Salt Island and reviewed new system items, then tried the new Expansion Building Card and drew a Seaside Bakery. He let Cui Xiya use his remaining points for a draw, which ended with dazzling golden light filling the captain’s quarters.

  • Xu Da told Yang Yi that Salt Knights were pursuing him, and Yang Yi traded information about the Fake Salt Spike for Salt Island’s coordinates and pictures.
  • Yang Yi sent the gathered information to Su Na and Cui Xiya and asked Su Na to archive it in Xiaoji’s database.
  • Yang Yi reviewed the new Expansion Building Cards and Ship Equipment Upgrade Cards, then drew a small Expansion Building Card and unlocked a Seaside Bakery.
  • Yang Yi transferred Cui Xiya 250 points and invited her to draw a card; after her strange prayer, she pressed the redeem button and dazzling light filled the captain’s quarters.

Ch. 467Special building?

Yang Yi prepared for a likely encounter with the Deathbirth Society while considering the risks of a rare Greed Altar. Meanwhile, the Society’s commander reviewed footage of Crystal Island’s collapse and mistook the strange Skeleton Ship’s crew for members of the Radiant Holy Church.

  • Cui Xiya drew a duplicate Seaside Bakery, and Yang Yi refused to lend her more points for another attempt.
  • Yang Yi bought Stealth Capsules, gave each of the three of them 30, and browsed forum posts about special Expansion Buildings.
  • Yang Yi examined the Greed Altar’s escalating tribute requirements, decided to wait until Level Six to build other Expansion Buildings, and bought a Mid-tier Artisan Inscription Stone.
  • The Deathbirth Society’s commander reviewed footage showing Crystal Island sinking and a Beak-Masked woman, a robot, a Light Fairy, and an octopus-like monster aboard a Skeleton Ship.
  • The commander guessed that the crew belonged to the Radiant Holy Church and that a Paladin had resolved the Crystal Island incident.

Ch. 468Returning the Eye, Part One

The Deathbirth Society watched a strange creature from afar and chose not to approach, while Yang Yi prepared to receive a newly assembled body. Su Na revealed that she had used her own flesh and lent him his original right eye, leaving him furious as the surgery was about to begin.

  • The Deathbirth Society Captain guessed the creature in the footage might be a Paladin and ordered his crew not to approach it.
  • Yang Yi bought another Mid-tier Artisan Inscription Stone, and Su Na used one to upgrade her Witch's Dagger.
  • Su Na told Yang Yi that his new body was ready, and he entered the Witch Laboratory with Cui Xiya and Xiaoji nearby.
  • Yang Yi recognized his original right eye among the prepared body parts and shouted at Su Na to put it back.
  • Su Na explained that she had lent him the eye and expected him to return one after his regenerative abilities restored his body.

Ch. 469Returning the Eye, Part Two

Su Na prepared bionic limbs and organs for Yang Yi and began grafting them onto him, despite the risks of rejection and the loss of his Crystal Body. The chapter ended as Su Na started the operation and Yang Yi agreed to assist her.

  • Su Na explained how she had made the bionic limbs and organs using compression casting and Flesh Printing Technology.
  • Yang Yi examined the prepared body parts, whose attributes varied and whose use could cause severe rejection.
  • Su Na injected blood mixed with Fruit of Abundance extract into the limbs and organs, restoring their color and apparent vitality.
  • Cui Xiya and the Maw of Gluttony both reacted hungrily to the prepared body parts, while Yang Yi was secured to the operating table.
  • Su Na hesitated before using the No. 4 antidote to remove Yang Yi's crystallization, knowing his survival depended on the operation.
  • Su Na steadied herself, accepted Yang Yi's offer to assist, and began the surgery with her upgraded Witch Multi-Function Dagger.

Ch. 470Restoring the Eye, Part Two

Su Na restored Yang Yi’s bones and organs while Yang Yi used magic and his own abilities to keep the surgery on track. His head and senses recovered, but the Burning Giant’s Heart began beating violently as the operation continued.

  • Su Na rapidly implanted the bones in Yang Yi’s head, then restored his eye, teeth, and tongue while tiny spiders repaired his flesh with the Limb Restoration Spell.
  • As Yang Yi entered Refuse Death, Su Na opened his chest to implant his organs, spine, and connected systems, while Yang Yi restrained the Burning Giant’s Heart with his tongues.
  • Yang Yi’s head repairs restored his vision, speech, and other senses, and a system notification reported that some of his body’s potential had returned.
  • The Burning Giant’s Heart beat, shattered nearby vessels, and burned Yang Yi’s chest and Su Na’s fingers as Su Na continued the surgery.
  • Yang Yi reattached his right hand with magic, transformed it, and used it with his other hand and tongues to suppress the heart while Su Na continued operating.

Ch. 471Returning the Eye, conclusion

Yang Yi survived the surgery and rebuilt his chest around the Burning Giant's Heart, gaining a fully restored, transformed body. As he celebrated his recovery, Su Na demanded that he return her right eye.

  • Yang Yi stopped Su Na before she finished the surgery and left the cabin with his chest still open to release the Burning Giant's Heart underwater.
  • Yang Yi used Limb Restoration Spell to rebuild his chest, and tiny spiders replaced his blood vessels with black vessels that carried fire from the heart.
  • After fifteen minutes, Yang Yi's chest was stitched shut, his Qi and Blood began recovering, and he returned to the deck with a complete wolf-transformed body.
  • Su Na, Xiaoji, and Cui Xiya came out of the cabin unharmed, and Yang Yi announced that he had recovered.
  • Su Na told Yang Yi they would begin the second round and demanded that he return her right eye.

Ch. 472A Brand-New Body

Yang Yi underwent a second surgery in Su Na’s Witch Laboratory, where she removed two of his right eyeballs and used one to restore her own eye. He escaped the laboratory a day later with his right eye bandaged and returned to the Captain’s Quarters.

  • Yang Yi discovered that his modified scalp had become hard and hairless, and his panel revealed the new Copperhead and Charred Body abilities.
  • Yang Yi speculated that his Extraordinary Paths could enhance one another after the Tiny Limb Spiders’ modifications gave him Charred Body.
  • Su Na secured Yang Yi to the operating table and had Xiaoji assist with the surgery, including removing her own eyeball.
  • Su Na took two of Yang Yi’s right eyeballs, and the Limb Restoration Spell restored her right eye.
  • Yang Yi left the laboratory a day later with his right eye bandaged and returned to the Captain’s Quarters.

Ch. 473Adjusting to a new body

Yang Yi adjusted to his restored human body, trained, and publicized his advance to Legendary, drawing attention from players. A Great Newspaper editor secretly asked him for help against Eden, but he avoided committing and kept the coordinates before noticing a familiar book in World Chat.

  • Gilbert detected an unusual heartbeat resembling the Giant Knight's and ordered his subordinate to request nighttime footage and check whether the corpse samples indicated a new Death Plague subtype.
  • Yang Yi tested his restored body and practiced Supreme Holy Slash, while Cui Xiya told him a Polluter could not receive the Radiant Goddess's blessing.
  • Yang Yi received a Mid-tier Artisan Inscription Stone and gave it to Su Na to upgrade her Witch set, then published a post about the Legendary title that sparked discussion among players.
  • The Great Newspaper paid Yang Yi 300,000 Conch Coins, and an anonymous editor asked him to help reclaim it from Eden.
  • Yang Yi suspected the request might be a trap, ended the exchange without revealing his intentions, memorized the coordinates, and later noticed a familiar book mentioned in World Chat.

Ch. 474An attack from the sky

Yang Yi uncovered a hidden message in Volume Nine: Scorching Muscle Hell, which suggested that the Death Plague infected were imprisoned inside the artificial satellite. When Three Eyes revealed the satellite aiming a weapon at the Nightmare Star, Yang Yi warned the crew, and the ship narrowly escaped the devastating blast.

  • Yang Yi bought the pages of Volume Nine: Scorching Muscle Hell from a player, who leaked their conversation and sparked rumors about Yang Yi's preferences.
  • Yang Yi shared the covers of two other volumes and said the book series contained a major secret he would reveal after verifying it.
  • Yang Yi found the message that the undying were imprisoned above the sky and suspected the Death Plague Prototype victims were inside the artificial satellite.
  • Yang Yi used Three Eyes to spot a weapon charging beneath the satellite and warned the Nightmare Star's crew to brace for impact.
  • The Nightmare Star used the Great Sea Lung Jet to leap clear of the target zone, and the satellite's beam blasted a huge hollow in the sea where the ship had been.

Ch. 475Expulsion, Part One

The Deathbirth Society ordered Gilbert to eliminate or drive away Yang Yi, fearing his unstable condition and power could create a dangerous new Death Plague. A satellite attack damaged the Nightmare Star, and Yang Yi survived while worrying that the Burning Giant's Heart was making him increasingly quick to anger.

  • Headquarters sent Gilbert a recording of the Nightmare Star and ordered him to eliminate or drive away its target at any cost.
  • Gilbert accepted the order and began arranging the attack on Yang Yi.
  • Yang Yi noticed the satellite's wave cannon and maneuvered the Nightmare Star aside, avoiding a direct hit.
  • The blast damaged the ship and injured Yang Yi, who transformed and anchored himself to the deck while his wounds began healing.
  • Yang Yi answered a private message that he was fine, then grew concerned about the Burning Giant's Heart affecting his temper.

Ch. 476Driven Out, Part Two

Yang Yi and the Nightmare Star evaded repeated Space-Based Wave Cannon strikes while the Deathbirth Society mobilized a fleet to stop them. As the ship approached the enemy force, Yang Yi prepared to fight and retreat toward the Sea of No Light.

  • Gilbert watched the Nightmare Star dodge the first Wave Cannon strike and ordered the Deathbirth Society ships to converge on it.
  • Yang Yi warned the crew about the cannon, ordered Cui Xiya to switch the Hunt to the Screaming Demon's corpse, and decided to flee toward the Sea of No Light.
  • Yang Yi took the helm toward the surrounding fleet while Su Na fed the Great Sea Lung the last two drops of Fruit of Abundance Extract.
  • Gilbert ordered his ships to spread out, target the Nightmare Star's propulsion, and hold the Big-Mouth Knight for another Wave Cannon strike.
  • The Nightmare Star dodged three more cannon shots with increasingly powerful leaps, then closed to ten nautical miles from the sixty-two enemy ships.

Ch. 477Expulsion, Part Two

Yang Yi prepared the Nightmare Star to break through the Deathbirth Society’s fleet while Su Na assessed its biomechanical enemies and Cui Xiya was assigned to steer. The enemy fired a devastating long-range shot at the ship, convincing Yang Yi’s crew that the biomechanical constructs had to be destroyed quickly.

  • Yang Yi identified seven biomechanical enemies among the Deathbirth Society’s ships and planned a fast assault through their line.
  • Yang Yi assigned Cui Xiya to steer the Nightmare Star while he fought, and left Su Na and Xiaoji to defend the deck.
  • The Deathbirth Society broadcast a demand that the Nightmare Star disarm and submit to inspection, but Yang Yi refused to comply.
  • A ranged biomechanical construct fired a bone projectile from over 9,000 meters away, tearing apart Su Na’s Stitched Monster and punching through the Painful Wailing Cabin.
  • Commander Gilbert called the shot a warning, while Yang Yi and his crew concluded that the dangerous biomechanical constructs had to be destroyed quickly.

Ch. 478Takeoff

Yang Yi charged the Deathbirth Society fleet while dodging its railgun fire, then used the Parasitic Wings to gain the ability to fly. The chapter ended with him testing his new flight and confirming that the Society was targeting him rather than the Nightmare Star.

  • Yang Yi ordered Cui Xiya to drive the Nightmare Star at full speed toward the Deathbirth Society fleet.
  • Captain Gilbert directed four Black Crow Enforcers to shoot Yang Yi, who dodged most of the railgun bullets and deflected one with the Broken Iron Greatsword.

  • Cui Xiya urged Yang Yi to evade the Deathbirth Society fleet, but he stayed near the Nightmare Star and prepared the Royal Trident.
  • Yang Yi activated the Royal Trident and summoned more than eight thousand fishmen from the surrounding waters.
  • Commander Gilbert ordered the Deathbirth Society ships to attack as Yang Yi commanded the fishmen to kill everyone aboard them.
  • The Black Crow Enforcers fired on the Nightmare Star, while its Rotary Beam Cannon destroyed incoming drones and Yang Yi shot back with the Roaring Flintlock.
  • Su Na used Animated Weaponry Magic to deflect some incoming shells, and Bone Arms and vines repaired damage to the Nightmare Star.
  • The Nightmare Star's cannons launched a Rotting Whale onto an enemy ship, and after two more volleys the ship sank.

Ch. 480War, Part Two

Cui Xiya and Yang Yi fought the Deathbirth Society’s fleet as proliferative Fishmen swarmed its ships and the Nightmare Star attacked with its cannons. Yang Yi disabled a Black Crow Enforcer, but Gilbert detonated its bomb, leaving Yang Yi engulfed in an explosion as ominous heartbeats sounded from the smoke.

  • Cui Xiya deftly piloted the Nightmare Star through enemy fire while proliferative Fishmen attacked the Deathbirth Society’s ships and the Nightmare Star’s cannons sank vessels.
  • Gilbert ordered his fleet to sink the Nightmare Star, but the Fishmen and other creatures made it difficult to carry out his command.
  • Yang Yi attacked a ranged Black Crow Enforcer, dismantled it, and set it alight until it stopped moving.
  • Yang Yi learned that Black Crow Enforcers contained remotely detonated bombs, then sensed the damaged Enforcer’s core charging with energy.
  • Gilbert detonated the Enforcer’s bomb, blasting Yang Yi and half the ship as heartbeats sounded from the smoke.
