The middle region of the Magical Beast Mountain Range was home to groups of intermediate magical beasts and a small number of advanced magical beasts.
Within this intermediate region lay a small lake, its water clear enough to see the bottom. Many magical beasts came here to drink.
In a clearing beside the lake lay a huge magical beast, about six meters tall and thirty meters long, covered in fiery-red scales. It was fast asleep.
This was a familiar bit player in the Coiling Dragon World: the advanced magical beast known as the Velociraptor.
About ten meters from the lake, beneath a large tree beside some bushes, a large pair of eyes and a small pair watched the Velociraptor.
They belonged to Lister and Dai Dai.
Lister looked at the Velociraptor before him and activated his Data Eyes.
Species: Velociraptor Name: Honghuo Level: Seventh-Level Magical Beast Description: An adult Velociraptor. Fire attribute, dragon race. Usually lives in the middle and core regions of the Magical Beast Mountain Range.
Traveling with Dai Dai is just too slow, and I can't let him ride me. After thinking it over, there's only one solution.
Tame a magical beast for him.
He had assumed that without the ability to set up a soul contract or a soul contract scroll, he had no way to tame a magical beast for Dai Dai. They had spent the past two months traveling slowly, only for it to turn out that the kid had a soul contract scroll of his own.
And he didn't think to say so sooner! I really want to smack him to death.
After exchanging a glance with Dai Dai, Lister charged straight toward the Velociraptor. Sensing Lister's presence, the Velociraptor rose and let out an angry roar at him, but Lister's aura frightened it.
In terms of bloodline, a Spined Iron-Armored Dragon was already stronger than a Velociraptor, let alone a mutated divine beast like Lister.
As Lister approached, the pressure of a superior magical beast left the Velociraptor unable to muster any will to resist.
It knelt on both legs and lowered its head, signaling its submission to Lister.
Lister stopped and looked at the Velociraptor before him. He had not expected it to submit just like that.
That was something he had not anticipated.
Looks like I do have a bit of a king's commanding presence.
Lister was very pleased to see the Velociraptor submit.
Then he called Dai Dai over to establish the soul contract.
Dai Dai came up to the Velociraptor, took the soul contract scroll out of his spatial ring, and spread it on the ground.
An ordinary Soul Contract Magic Array was cast by a Level Seven Mage.
A soul contract scroll, on the other hand, was created by a Level Eight Magister casting the spell and inscribing it onto a scroll.
Anyone wishing to activate it only needed to channel their spiritual power into it.
As Dai Dai channeled his spiritual power into it, a nearly transparent, pentagonal magic array floated up.
Upon seeing the magic array, the Velociraptor still tried to resist, but Lister immediately suppressed it.
"Isn't it a little late to resist now? Dai Dai, hurry up."
Lister urged Dai Dai to continue casting.
As Dai Dai poured in his spiritual power, the Soul Contract Magic Array merged into the Velociraptor's mind.
After it merged into its mind, a soul bond formed between Dai Dai and the Velociraptor.
"Big Brother! It's done. I've established a contract with the Velociraptor. Its name is Honghuo."
Dai Dai spoke with great delight. After all, with his current strength, he had no way to tame a Seventh-Level Magical Beast like the Velociraptor. His success was entirely thanks to Lister suppressing it.
"I know, but you still need to treat it well. After all, you didn't tame it by defeating it. Even with the contract, it's bound to feel somewhat defiant." Wasn't it just like that cat, Pros, from Hellfire Volcano in the original story, who refused to accept his master and then got his master killed?
Lister gave Dai Dai these instructions. After all, treating a tamed magical beast a little better was certainly never wrong.
"All right, I understand, Big Brother!"
Dai Dai answered Lister while also communicating with Honghuo the Velociraptor through their souls.
The Velociraptor stood up, with Dai Dai standing steadily on its back.
It was quite an imposing sight.
"Big Brother, let's go!" As soon as Dai Dai finished speaking, the Velociraptor strode forward and ran north.
"Damn it! This kid. I catch him a magical beast, and now he doesn't even care about his big brother."
Lister shook his head and set off again as well.
And so, a group consisting of a Spined Iron-Armored Dragon, a human, and a Velociraptor traveled through the Magical Beast Mountain Range.
They headed north all the way.
