Arc 2The Nine-Tails’ Catastrophe
Xuandou became Uchiha Clan Head, expanded the clan, and tried to prepare Konoha for an attack during Kushina’s delivery. The Nine-Tails rampage killed Minato, and the Uchiha returned to a village where suspicion and calls for a coup were rising.
- Xuandou defeated Fugaku in the clan leadership match and was declared Uchiha Clan Head, then appointed Fugaku to keep leading the Military Police Force and Shisui to lead the clan’s Anbu.
- Xuandou built new clan facilities and promoted childbirth, while the hot springs and ancestral shrine helped the Uchiha grow and more than two hundred Uchiha babies were born.
- Xuandou warned Minato, Hiruzen, and the advisers that an attacker would target Kushina during her delivery, but Danzo challenged his intelligence and Hiruzen only promised to deploy Anbu and the Barrier Team.
- Xuandou helped Orochimaru escape Hiruzen’s planned arrest, learned from Orochimaru’s research about Mangekyō Sharingan use, and later gained Minato’s approval for an evacuation drill.
- Fugaku’s evacuation announcement met angry civilian resistance, and the Uchiha withdrew to their settlement as the masked man watched Konoha.
- The masked man extracted the Nine-Tails from Kushina and unleashed it in Konoha, while Fugaku sent the Uchiha police force to rescue civilians despite some officers’ reluctance.
- Minato fought the masked man and tried to seal the Nine-Tails into Naruto, but Xuandou arrived as the beast struck, saving Kushina and trapping the Nine-Tails while Minato died.
- Xuandou returned to Konoha with the Uchiha, where villagers blamed them for the attack, Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and Uchiha fighters urged Xuandou to launch a coup.
