Vanessa carefully brought her eye to the gap in the zipper, holding her breath as she peered outside. A moment later, she pressed her ear tightly against it. Was there really no one there?
Just then, that familiar sense of being controlled gradually faded. The Great Being had turned its gaze away from her.
Vanessa regained control of her body, but she felt somewhat lost.
Where was this?
After waiting warily for a while, Vanessa finally made up her mind. She deftly slipped her palm into the gap in the zipper and pushed it open. Soon, she had opened the suitcase. Keeping her movements as quiet as possible, she tiptoed into the middle of the room and looked around.
It was a small room, its walls covered in intricately patterned dark wallpaper, with an elegantly shaped crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
Vanessa's heart pounded. She moved to the room's only door and clumsily turned the lock with both hands.

The crisp sound of the lock opening was rather piercing. She took a deep breath, summoned her courage, and pulled the door open.
Outside was a magnificent corridor. The thick, soft carpet would let shoes sink into it, enormous oil paintings hung on the walls, and wall lamps cast a gentle glow. Yet there was still not a soul in sight! Vanessa activated her Spirit Vision and swept her gaze across the corridor, then raised her eyebrows in surprise.
On one door, glowing white light traced a small circle.
Vanessa hesitated, then approached it and placed her hand on the handle, her whole body tensing.
If anything was wrong, she would turn and run straight away.
But the sight behind the door left Vanessa standing frozen in shock.
"Heavens, is... is this a washroom...?"
