After a moment of silence, the two tacitly changed the subject.

At the mention of this, Eleanor immediately grew a little excited.
After several students had all been taken over by [it] back then, Eleanor had been the only survivor.
Although Director Randall had strictly forbidden her from exploring those ruins again and had even written her a letter of introduction to the Night Watch Bureau, Eleanor had remained concerned about the ruins.
