Vanessa stood up, took a few steps forward, then stopped.

She turned back and patted Victoria's shoulder. Victoria hesitated, then loosened some of the spider silk restraining her.

Vanessa continued forward.

She activated [Spirit Vision], then widened her eyes in surprise.

Before her was a flowing river of stars.

Countless points of light emerged from the dismembered chunks of flesh and flew toward her, looking truly like an inverted Milky Way.

Vanessa instinctively moved to dodge, only to discover that the lights were not flowing toward her, but toward the piece of corpse in front of her.

It was the very piece Vanessa had just seen twitch.

Though the flowing lights were beautiful, they were far from slow.

Before long, the entire nightmare's corpse had dimmed, and all its light had gathered on this one small piece.

Vanessa tried touching it, but the light scattered into a cloud of luminous mist the instant she made contact.

The glowing mist surrounded her without drawing close, politely keeping its distance.

Like hazy water vapor, the mist gradually dispersed. Vanessa vaguely saw a blurred figure lift the hem of her skirt, bend her knees slightly, and give her an elegant curtsy.

Then the mist vanished, as though it had been a dream.

Vanessa stood rooted to the spot, as if waking from a dream.

Elliot raised his eyebrows in surprise and picked up a Card from the table.

[Momentary Remembrance]

The front of the Card depicted an enormous monster covered in disgusting eyeballs, with countless twisted tentacles and limbs reaching diagonally upward, seemingly yearning for and adoring something.

Following the direction they pointed, he saw a tiny, almost indistinguishable dot in the sky, faintly surrounded by fierce white light.

Elliot found it familiar, though. That had to be Vanessa using [Spirituality Pressure]
