There was one ability that neither Elliot nor Vanessa had used much.
[Hypnosis]
The ability was far too restrictive. It required sustained eye contact for a certain amount of time, which was almost impossible in combat, dooming it to a supporting role.
But now...
Elliot raised his head and looked at the monsters above, all staring fixedly at him.
"It would be hard to find a more perfect opportunity to use it."
With a sigh of admiration, Elliot walked over to the cave detected by [Veil], picked a monster at random, and began using [Hypnosis].
If [Hypnosis] provoked the monster into attacking, he could jump straight into the cave and escape.
If it succeeded...
Elliot's eyes flickered. Perhaps he could have a monster carry out the task of exploring the cave.
And judging by how freely these monsters moved through the sea, perhaps ascending would not injure them. At least they would not be like him, unable to withstand even a few meters of ascent.
Come to think of it, a range of a few meters was far too narrow. It was manageable on the seabed, but in the middle layers, without a depth gauge, a careless mistake could easily spell trouble. Could this place really serve as a battlefield?
That was rather strange, too.
Elliot kept [Hypnosis] active for a long time before he finally managed to complete it.
This meant the monster was stronger than he was. The time required for Hypnosis increased exponentially with strength.
Vanessa had tested it. Hypnotizing First Rank Clara took only a little over ten seconds, but hypnotizing Maeve, who had only just entered Middle Rank, took at least two minutes.
Yet Elliot had spent over ten minutes hypnotizing this monster.
