Elliot turned to glance at "Lady Camilla," then inwardly shook his head.
Elsa still obeyed his command, approaching the mechanical arm on his right hand, but stopped in front of it, seemingly examining it.
A moment later, Elsa disappeared into the mechanical arm.
Elliot slipped his hand into the mechanical arm again and tried to lift it.
As he moved, a series of faint hums came from inside the mechanical arm.
Several cover plates and grilles opened and closed, accompanied by the incessant soft clicking of meshing gears.
It still felt heavy, but soon grew light. Elliot exerted himself in time with it and actually lifted the mechanical arm.
He gazed in wonder at the enormous machine on his hand. It almost felt like an extension of his own body.
But soon, a jamming noise rang out. The mechanical arm jerked a few times, then swayed and fell again, nearly striking him.
Elliot hurriedly prepared to step aside, but before he could move, another mechanical arm had already reached over to shield him.
