"What do you mean?"
Indescribable confusion and bewilderment arose in Elliot's heart.
These monsters called [Worms] were born in darkness, yet longed to die beneath the blazing sun?
Looking at the pitch-black Moonheart and listening to Elsa cry out that they were approaching, Elliot could hardly avoid making a certain connection-could that blazing sun refer to the [Spirituality Pressure] he released?
Had he guessed wrong? Rather than fearing him, did the [Worms] long to approach him?
Elliot had been about to release [Spirituality Pressure], but now he began to hesitate.
Just what sort of beings were these strange creatures?
Thinking it over carefully, there seemed to have been many oddities all along.
After he used the [Crescent Moon Prayer], Worm's Descent had opened a passage in his Abode, triggering an attack by Dream Creatures.
At the time, he had thought this was the danger the [Worms] posed, but only after witnessing the true power of a Great Being did he realize he had probably been wrong.
These Dream Creatures might have been troublesome for his believers, but to a Great Being, they were truly insignificant.
An absolute disparity in strength could not be overcome by numbers. The [Primordial Blood] alone was already unimaginably powerful, let alone a Great Being in person.
Yet the [Worms] could force Great Beings into an alliance. Their strength far exceeded his imagination, so how could opening a passage have been the end of it?
In other words, the [Worms] had never attacked him from beginning to end.
That made sense, when he thought about it. After all, this was Maeve's Talent. Maeve might screw him over, but the Difference Engine would not.
And...
Elliot had a vague feeling that this world was not as Lillian had described it, with only certain pivotal points mattering.
