Elliot did not hesitate for long before choosing [Assimilation] and [Ravenous Eating] for Maeve.
"Other people only get to choose talents three times when they advance a major realm, but Maeve gets two points to spend every time she advances a minor rank. Her strength probably far surpasses everyone else's."
Elliot looked at the densely packed talents on Maeve's Tree of the Supernatural. There were a frightening number of them.
He had a vague feeling that Maeve might even be able to fight above her rank.
Although Maeve was only middle rank now, an ordinary High-Rank Supernatural might not actually be a match for her.
The gap between each realm for a Supernatural person was enormous. When Vanessa was low rank, she had struggled even to break through the defenses of middle-rank nobility in the Theater. When the high-rank Victoria faced the Immortal Lillian, she had been defeated with effortless ease, even within her Library, where she was strongest.
And when Lillian faced the vessel temporarily inhabited by the Great Being [Primordial Blood], the damage she inflicted had seemed like a joke.
Every rank represented a gap that inspired despair.
Only Maeve was powerful enough to seem to exceed that boundary.
Once the talents were selected, the card slot sank, and the Difference Engine returned to the Tree of the Supernatural interface. Elliot glanced at it.
The progress was still full, so he casually tapped the seventh-rank node.
Since the transition from sixth rank to seventh rank marked the distinction between middle and high rank and required an ascension, the Communion's Core Believers generally got stuck here.
In his view, Maeve should have been no exception.
But the next moment, he froze as lines of notifications appeared on the Difference Engine.
