Theresia turned to look at Victoria, her gaze sweeping over her hideous spider legs, and sighed softly.

"The Era Curse can only end when the era ends. I had intended to sleep until then, but who knew the Royal Family couldn't even hold on to the secret vault anymore?"

She spread her hands regretfully.

Holly had briefly told her about the Empire's current state. Though they had not spoken much, she at least knew how precarious the situation had become.

Elliot, meanwhile, frowned.

The Era Curse?

As far as curses went, he had only seen the curse on Flora's [Thing of Immortality], which was clearly nowhere near the level of this Era Curse.

"What is the Era Curse?" Maeve asked in confusion, rubbing her tail.

Theresia glanced at her, her expression turning strange. "You don't know about the Era Curse?"

Maeve froze. "I-I should know?"

She looked to Victoria for help, but Victoria shook her head too. "I sealed my memories. All I remember now is that I did touch upon a taboo, and that there were extremely terrifying side effects. I don't remember the specifics."

Now Maeve was utterly bewildered.

Theresia frowned, a trace of puzzlement crossing her face, but for the sake of the meat in her hand, she still explained, "Haven't you been afflicted with the Era Curse yourself? Have the side effects not appeared yet?"

"I've been cursed?!"

Maeve nearly jumped, and Elsa and Victoria looked astonished too.

Elliot froze. Maeve had been cursed?

He checked Maeve's Card status on the Difference Engine, then carefully went through every Page Turner and Countdown again. He saw no curse.

Everyone looked at Theresia.

"How strange. Have all the Secret Histories of this age been lost? You clearly have High-Rank Supernaturals among you, yet you don't even know this?"
