Elliot was already rubbing his hands in anticipation in front of the Difference Engine.
He rather felt as though he were opening a mystery box.
He had felt the same way the first time he allocated points to Flora, but Flora's points had been assigned haphazardly, whereas Victoria had a Path.
Time to see just how the Paths of this world worked!
Elliot did not rush to open the point allocation interface. Instead, he inspected Victoria's status.
He still remembered what had happened with Flora. Back then, he had sacrificed her curse outright!
Anything a character possessed that carried supernatural power could be sacrificed. A curse certainly carried plenty of supernatural power, and it was a personal status, perfectly fitting the definition. Victoria's should also be available to sacrifice directly!
But Elliot soon frowned.
Victoria did not have any curse on her!
Vanessa's gaze suddenly went a little blank. She turned toward Victoria. "Victoria, how exactly does your curse manifest?"
Victoria froze for a moment, then frowned as she searched her memories, looking somewhat pained. "Mm, my memories aren't complete. What I can remember is being unable to return to human form and gradually becoming more and more like a spider..." She pointed at the cabinet in the corner. "Lately, I've inexplicably taken a liking to spinning silk. I've already used it to knit several sweaters. You can each take one when you leave. Burn the rest in front of my grave-"
Her words grew more and more sorrowful. She felt that even [Amber] probably could not save her and that she was certain to die.
Elliot ignored Victoria and rubbed his chin in thought.
Unable to return to human form, influenced by her transformed form, becoming more and more like a monster-
Why did that sound a little familiar?
