As Vanessa, Dorothea, and Allen prepared to confront the powerful at the theater, the operation ended in fire, death, and Vanessa’s killing of Garrett. Elliot’s confinement was lifted, and he and several others set out for the Imperial Capital as the story moved beyond New Scandinavia.

• Elliot learned that Dream Memory cards let him and Vanessa enter their dream worlds, then sent Vanessa to meet Lillian of the Rose Cross, who linked Elliot to the Frostmoon Uprising.
• Vanessa and Dorothea investigated the theater and prepared for its premiere, while Elliot advanced Allen and Dorothea and gave Vanessa the costly Secret Art [Overdraft].
• The Golden Tax Court ransacked No. 37 Pine Resin Alley, so Vanessa and her companions rescued Winnie’s remains and brought the orphans to Flora before preparing to leave the city.
• Dorothea gathered information at the university banquet and learned that Holly von Strauss had arrived as the Third Prince’s envoy, while Vanessa and Allen hid inside the theater.
• The theater erupted in explosions and flames, and Vanessa discovered that Garrett had not arranged the princes’ visit and that the Troy Society had built the theater on its own assumptions.

Elliot used the Difference Engine to help Vanessa recover from her aging while Dorothea reunited with her injured sister Elsa and struggled to find a home for their group. The arc ended with Elliot advancing Elsa, whose limbs and skin grew back as she embraced Dorothea and Clara.

• Eleanor met Dorothea aboard the ship to Saint Clair, and the two exchanged reassurances before Eleanor asked for help finding housing near the Dome Institute.
• Dorothea explained Vanessa’s condition to Elliot, who learned from the Old Butler about the Sterling Family’s mechanical path and reached Saint Clair with Conrad and Evan.
• Elliot stayed with Third Prince Sidney, used the Difference Engine to observe Vanessa, and allocated a point to her Vitality, which began reversing her aging.

After learning more about the Rose Cross and the Theater explosion, Elliot’s allies began investigating a series of family murders linked to the Fog Horn Fraternity.

• Elliot created the Raven Parliament to draw Supernatural people into dream gatherings, then used the Difference Engine to observe them and help Vanessa, Dorothea, and Allen connect with the Fog Horn Fraternity.
• Elliot forced the three factory owners to pledge allegiance, transferred their factories to his control, and ordered worker facilities and machinery improvements as he made the Hearthfire District his foundation.
• Elliot learned from the old duke that the Sterling Path, [Indomitability], made its followers obsessive, and resolved to create a new path by organizing workers and turning them into Supernatural people.

• Elliot learned that witnesses’ memories of the Theater attack appeared altered, and Flora confirmed she could not remember Lillian or the Rose Cross’s actions despite recalling other events surrounding the Theater.
• After two Fog Horn Fraternity families were found murdered, Allen, Vanessa, Dorothea, and Elsa examined Fango’s home, where Dorothea reconstructed Fango killing his family and himself and Vanessa detected a faint white glow on his body and blood.
